This book was released on 2016-06-15 with total page 388 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is the Black & White issue, a full color issue is available under the same title on createspace.com The Mysteries of our spiritual evolution concealed in the Tarot has taken a considerable amount of time to come to light for the masses. Most people tend to think that Tarot cards first appeared in the Middle Ages, however, many believe the basic images of the Major Arcana may have existed for thousands of years. In general, the Tarot was treated as a tool for divination. Then in the early 20th century Arthur Edward Waite commissioned Pamela Coleman Smith to create a new deck using the mystical teachings of the Golden Dawn. Known as the Rider-Waite-Smith deck, it was published in 1910, and began a revival of interest in understanding the deeper messages in the Tarot images. One such investigator was a Jewish rabbi, who studied the images from the Kabbalistic perspective. Taking his investigation as far as he could, the rabbi sought out a Jesuit priest who became so intrigued that he left the priesthood and devoted the next 40 years to its study. My involvement began when after meeting the ex-priest in the mid-70s, he became my mentor and close confidant. One day he handed me a box full of papers with the instructions that I was to collate the information and after adding my interpretation of the symbols, arrange it into a manuscript for publishing. This proved to be no easy task and required me establishing my own publishing company to bring the book to print in 1987. Following my publication of the book, Llewellyn Publishers became interested and published two printings of the book in the early 90s. In 2007, I decided to revise the manuscript and as owner of the copyright, publish this new version through my publishing company. Looking for endorsements for the back cover, I contacted Craig and Suzzan Babcock asking them if I could use excerpts of the letter they sent me endorsing the book. Not surprisingly they agreed, which started our long association together. Suzzan confided that she had experienced an extremely detailed a powerful vision connecting the 22 Major Arcana with the Tree of Life. It seemed to me that she was being motivated to add another level to the work, but it was not until she contacted me in 2014 suggesting that we republish The Rabbi's Tarot that I saw what her contribution would be. First, she has recolored all the cards according to my symbolism, bringing them to life in a very real way. Still, this was not her most important role. That has come from her inspired commentary, which brings in many other aspects and takes the messages of the cards to another level. In this book resides the following sentence. "The teaching of Tarot and the esoteric teaching of Scripture narrative is that the self-conscious, by assiduous endeavor, may bring into your body (and your body is your self-conscious) more and more of the superconscious in the form of Cosmic Mind-Stuff." It is this Cosmic Mind-Stuff, an energetic manifestation of sorts, which finds its way into our world when allowed. I believe it found not only the Rabbi and the Priest before me, but also Suzzan in its effort of coming forth for all humanity.

Book Kabbalistic Tarot

Download or read book Kabbalistic Tarot written by Dovid Krafchow and published by Simon and Schuster. This book was released on 2005-07-11 with total page 182 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: An introduction to the ancient kabbalistic origins and meanings of the tarot • Reveals the intimate relationship of the tarot to the esoteric teachings of the Torah and the Kabbalah • Provides kabbalistic interpretations for all 78 traditional tarot cards • Includes a detailed kabbalistic reading and interpretation of the Tree of Life spread When the Greeks invaded Israel and forbade study of the Torah, the Jewish people began a secret method of Toranic study that appeared to be merely a simple way to fill time: playing cards. These first tarot decks enabled study of the Torah without detection. Once the Maccabees expelled the Greeks from Israel and Israel once again became a Jewish kingdom, tarot cards dropped from sight. Fifteen hundred years later, in response to Jewish disputations with Catholic theologians, political and religious persecutions, and ultimately the Inquisition, the cards resurfaced as a secret learning tool of the Torah. In Kabbalistic Tarot, Dovid Krafchow details how the true meaning of the tarot is locked within the Kabbalah. He shows the correspondence between the 22 Major Arcana cards and the 22 letters of the Hebrew alphabet and how the four suits correspond to the four kabbalistic worlds of Briah, Yitzerah, Asiyah, and Atzilut. He describes the kabbalistic meanings of each of the 78 cards and their relations to the Torah and provides insight into the Tree of Life spread through several kabbalistic readings.

Book Tarot and the Gates of Light

Download or read book Tarot and the Gates of Light written by Mark Horn and published by Simon and Schuster. This book was released on 2020-01-07 with total page 544 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: An innovative, spiritual workbook that integrates the Tarot and the Kabbalistic tradition of Counting the Omer • Explores the origins and meaning of the 49-day Kabbalistic meditative practice of Counting the Omer and how it can lead to spiritual revelation, personal insight, and connection with the Divine • Reveals the correspondence of the Tarot’s minor arcana with the Sephirot of the Tree of Life and explains how both relate to the Omer meditation • Provides a daily practice workbook that explores the related Sephirot and Tarot cards for each day, examines their Kabbalistic and spiritual meanings, and provides questions for daily reflection and meditation guidance The 49-day mystical practice known as Counting the Omer is an ancient Jewish ritual observed between the holidays of Passover and Shavuot (also known as Pentecost). As practiced by Kabbalists, it is designed to cleanse and purify the soul in preparation for spiritual revelation and a personal connection with God. The ritual creates a spiritual inner journey that follows the path of the ancient Israelites from the moment of their physical freedom from slavery in Egypt to the establishment of their spiritual freedom forty-nine days later when they arrived at Mt. Sinai. Adeptly integrating this mystical practice with the transformative symbolism of the Tarot, Mark Horn uses the ritual of Counting the Omer as a template for a guided meditative practice that gives readers insight into their personal life journey and help in overcoming the issues that hinder their growth and spiritual awakening. Examining the correspondence of the Tarot’s minor arcana with the Sephirot of the Kabbalistic Tree of Life, he shows how using the cards in connection with Counting the Omer can unlock the gates to a deep experience of the sacred. In the detailed daily practice workbook section, Horn provides day-by-day descriptions of the 49-day meditative practice of Counting the Omer. He divides the journey into seven week-long segments, which in turn are broken down into seven daily practices. For each day, he explains the related Sephirot and Tarot cards and their Kabbalistic and spiritual meanings, providing the reader with questions for daily reflection, guidance for meditation, and insight from traditional Jewish texts as well as teachings from Christian, Buddhist, Hindu, and Muslim traditions. Unveiling the relationship between Tarot and the Kabbalah, Horn shows readers how uniting these two practices can open them to a deeper experience of the Divine.

Book The Chicken Qabalah of Rabbi Lamed Ben Clifford

Download or read book The Chicken Qabalah of Rabbi Lamed Ben Clifford written by Lon Milo DuQuette and published by Weiser Books. This book was released on 2010-07-01 with total page 215 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A unique and humorous -- and also practical -- approach to the increasingly popular study of Qabalah. This is a seriously funny book! Traditional Qabalistic (or Cabalistic, or, indeed, Kabbalistic -- read this book to find out what the difference is...we know you've always wondered) sources tend to be a bit, er, dry. DuQuette spices up the Qabalah and makes it come alive, restoring the joy of learning the fundamentals of this admittedly arcane system by using simple, amusing anecdotes and metaphors. This account, written psuedepigraphically (fictitiously attributed to a supposed authority), allows DuQuette as Rabbi Lamed Ben Clifford to soar to outrageous heights and, when necessary, stand apart from the silliness to highlight the golden eggs of Qabalistic wisdom nested therein. Sure to be a revelation to those who think that learning about the Qabalah needs to be tedious and serious, DuQuette shows that great truths can be transmitted through the medium of laughter.

Written anonymously and published posthumously, as was the author’s wish, the intention of this work is for the reader to find a relationship with the author in the spiritual dimensions of existence. The author wanted not to be thought of as a personality who lived from 1900 to 1973, but as a friend who is communicating with us from beyond the boundaries of ordinary life. Using the 22 major arcana of the tarot deck as a means to explore some of humanity’s most penetrating spiritual questions, Meditations on the Tarot has attracted an unprecedented range of praise from across the spiritual spectrum.

Book Esoteric Symbols

Download or read book Esoteric Symbols written by June O. Leavitt and published by University Press of America. This book was released on 2007 with total page 182 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In this pioneering scholarly work on occult symbols in literature, the reader is offered a vivid look into how W.B. Yeats, T.S. Eliot, and Franz Kafka--three masters of symbolic expression--utilized Tarot cards in their poetry and prose. Focusing on the Tarot's ancient associations with divine knowledge, its pictorial representation of both the Jewish and Christian Cabala, and the Tarot's more recent pedestrian affiliation with the occult, June Leavitt skillfully demonstrates how Yeats, Eliot, and Kafka align themselves in their uniquely individual ways with the Tarot symbols' mapping of reality. Paying close attention to the mystical nuances of the Tarot, Ms. Leavitt shows how Tarot symbols allow for radically new readings of the texts in which they are situated, and play a transformative role in the three writers' search for God. This search remained indecisive for Kafka, resulted in Eliot's conversion to Anglo-Catholicism, and went hand in hand with Yeats' passion for pagan gods and angels. Book New Dimensions cube of Space

Download or read book New Dimensions cube of Space written by and published by Weiser Books. This book was released on with total page 168 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Hidden in a secret book of cosmology, written in the ancient Hebrew tongue, long forgotten but not lost by mankind, is a description of a mysterious cube formed from the twenty-two letters of the Hebrew alphabet. This cube of letters is constructed of a center, three interior dimensions, six faces, and twelve edges. These twenty-two components form the cube, and also reveal a map that clearly shows where we have come from, where we are now, and where we are going in our evolutionary journey toward complete spiritual awakening. In New Dimensions for the Cube of Space, David Allen Hulse explains that this cube of letters cannot reveal its deepest secrets until it is clothed in the cards of the tarot, creating a map of the cosmos referred to as the Cube of Space. Then, and only then, can this mystical cube speak directly to our souls and show us the way, or the true path of initiation we all must eventually travel. He presents a fascinating description of how he attained his insights along with a clear exposition of the Cube of Space as a path of initiation. Hulse illustrates his insights using the original B.O.T.A. tarot deck, designed by Paul Foster Case. The clear and simple imagery of this deck is very helpful for understanding every nuance of the symbolic material in the story of the soul's journey around the six faces of the cube. However, the popular Waite deck, or any other Tarot deck can be used in studying the Cube of Space. Included is the material needed for the construction of a model of the Cube of Space and Hulse recommends that the reader assemble this model, as it will greatly facilitate a clear understanding of the symbolic meaning behind each of the of the twenty-two directions of space delineated by the cube. Includes a color insert for construction of your own Cube!
