Book The Upper Secondary School

Download or read book The Upper Secondary School written by Lewis Spolton and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2014-05-16 with total page 306 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Upper Secondary School: A Comparative Survey presents the evolutionary stages through which educational systems develop as industrialism advances. This book discusses the various implications of the progress in the society whereby each has significance for education. Organized into 15 chapters, this book begins with an overview of the problems of upper secondary education and describes the actual and planned solutions in different countries. This text then investigates critically the progress that has been achieved and points out the ways in which the prospective of the present system is being under used. Other chapters consider the balance of general and special studies. This book discusses as well the system of further education and documents its achievements as well as its inefficiencies. The final chapter deals with the system of education in Spain, which has a low level of educational provision. This book is a valuable resource for sociologists, educators, and psychologists.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "Mission is nothing but the one church of God in motion." With these words the famous German Lutheran theologian Wilhelm Loehe described the essence of missionary work. Mission moves the church and crosses boundaries to form the one universal church. In 1842, Loehe started missionary work in the small Bavarian town of Neuendettelsau in southern Germany, as he sent two young men as "emergency helpers" to North America. He supported the formation of Lutheran congregations that later joined together to become the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) and the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod (LCMS). Together with Friedrich Bauer he founded a mission seminary that sent, until 1985, nearly 900 graduates as pastors and missionaries not only to the USA, but also to Australia, Papua New Guinea, Brazil, Africa, Eastern Europe, and Palestine. From this the present center Mission One World of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Bavaria developed, which maintains partnership relations to churches in Africa, Asia/Pacific, and Latin America. This book describes the history of this missionary movement up to the present time and puts the Bavarian missionary work into the context of mission theology and strategies in the twentieth century.

Book Waldorf Education and Anthroposophy 1

Download or read book Waldorf Education and Anthroposophy 1 written by Rudolf Steiner and published by SteinerBooks. This book was released on 1995-10 with total page 278 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Journal for Star Wisdom includes articles of interest concerning star wisdom (Astrosophy), as well as a guide to the correspondences between stellar configurations during the life of Christ and those of today. The guide comprises a complete sidereal ephemeris and aspectarian, geocentric and heliocentric, for each day throughout the year. Published yearly, new editions are available beginning in November for the coming new year. According to Rudolf Steiner, every step taken by Christ during his ministry between the baptism in the Jordan and the resurrection was in harmony with--and an expression of--the cosmos. The Journal for Star Wisdom is concerned with these heavenly correspondences during the life of Christ. It is intended to help provide a foundation for cosmic Christianity, the cosmic dimension of Christianity. It is this dimension that has been missing from Christianity in its two-thousand-year history. Readers can begin on this path by contemplating the movements of the Sun, Moon, and planets against the background of the zodiacal constellations (sidereal signs) today in relation to corresponding stellar events during the life of Christ. In this way, the possibility is opened for attuning, in a living way, to the life of Christ in the etheric cosmos.
