Book excerpt: As you read these pages, you will walk with us in the life we lived over a fifty year period. Only those times when we knew that the Holy Spirit had dealt with us, spoken to us, or sent an angel are included. We knew that He had always been with us since the word says: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen. (Matt. 28:20). These were the times when God seemingly intervened in our life in a manner that made us to know that His presence and power were with us through every struggle of life. We lived a life of prayer, fasting, reading the Scriptures, and receiving help and deliverance from angelic ministry. Our lives may seem extraordinary to any reader who reads these experiences, yet what we lived and experienced was only what the ordinary Christian who seeks after God will experience.

Download or read book Snapshots written by Fashbaugh Earl Fashbaugh and published by Trafford Publishing. This book was released on 2010 with total page 250 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Snapshots is a kind of verbal photo album that uses the sixty-six books of the Bible as a catalyst to move our thoughts to each of these portions of scripture. Just as a snapshot of days gone by does not capture the entire event, neither does this devotional expand the entire meaning or application for any single book in the Bible. Taking a picture, or snapshot, of a moment does not really do justice to a beautiful scene we witnessed during our vacation, but it puts a stake in our mind. The picture may even suggest that we have experienced something grand and we want to go back and visit the vacation spot again. We will always find something new when we revisit scripture. The Bible is relational in style because it speaks to us in a very personal way. The author provides his own verbal pictures of the first part of each book, illustrating the application according to his experience. Once we begin taking our own snapshots of the Bible, we charter the important scenes that relate to us at that particular time in our life. Every day in this devotional is dedicated to a book in the Bible, sixty-six days in all. Reading scripture should be fun. The author finds humor in many aspects of his own life and shares parallels in order to illustrate the loving nature of God's message to all of us.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Generally speaking, a book of sermons holds little value to the busy pastor. I have many such books in my library, yet few of these books hold any great insights. I present these sermons to be different from what you have seen before. Of the thousands of times I have preached, some were so different that they could not be of the same level, so I separated them over the years. I do not mean they were the most exciting to hear, I mean that they were the most profound as to the scripture of truth. I was often stunned by the truth that I had stumbled upon. I present them to you, hoping that you, too, can see what I saw and convey that truth to your hearers. The result will be a gasp from your congregation and a joy in your spirit that you had given something that your people would not soon forget. This collection of sermons are some of what I call the greatest I have ever preached out of 7500, these are the first 79 that made me stop and look again at what I had found. May you do so as well. You can add to them insights from your own experience and studies and make them yours. I would ask of you that use them this one thing: do not give me credit for having wrote them because in truth, I have received so much if not all I preach from those that I listened to and read over the years. I cannot remember all the names of those that I owe so much. In truth, maybe I did not receive one thing on my own. You must judge them for yourselves.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: - # symbolizes the days and times we live in - Spiritual projects the necessity to edit our lives with a heavenly mindset - Selfies represents the internal pictures of our character developed by the Lord This book of poetry is presented by author Glenny Z. Moore. It offers an unfashionable trend for the world; however, it's acquired and required from a heavenly source. The purpose is to meet people where they are spiritually, while encountering real-life situations. Readers are invited to face a variety of daily challenges, while being motivated to address them from the Lord's perspective rather than their own. The content is presented in harmony through encouraging words, lines, and stanzas. The framework will allow readers to focus on the internal sources of our choices-better known as the heart and mind. The author attempts to convince readers to consider turning away from prioritizing and valuing the external way that eventually withers away. The aim is to crop, add light, and colorize our character through biblical precepts. All working together through a divine and cultivating relationship that suggest hope, change, and revival. This process deletes the options of feelings, opinions, theories, or religions to address life issues. It reveals a required dependency, sacrifice, and commitment to Christ to ensure the dark pictures are developed divinely as beautiful testimonials displayed in His light.

Book The Ascension of Christ

Download or read book The Ascension of Christ written by Patrick Schreiner and published by Lexham Press. This book was released on 2020-07-29 with total page 90 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: It's essential to the Gospel, but we rarely talk about it. The good news of Jesus includes his life, death, resurrection, and future return--but what about his ascension? Though often neglected or misunderstood, the ascension is integral to the gospel. In The Ascension of Christ, Patrick Schreiner argues that Jesus' work would be incomplete without his ascent to God's right hand. Not only a key moment in the Gospel story, Jesus' ascension was necessary for his present ministry in and through the church. Schreiner argues that Jesus' residence in heaven marks a turning point in his three-fold offices of prophet, priest, and king. As prophet, Jesus builds the church and its witness. As priest, he intercedes before the Father. As king, he rules over all. A full appreciation of the ascension is essential for understanding the Bible, Christian doctrine, and Christ's ongoing work in the world.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Cordell & Odena Mitchell have been evangelists, pastors, and teachers over 50 years. Cordell has a B.A in Biblical Studies. He has been a pastor, banker, Dean of "The Biblical School of Theology" in Cleburne, Texas, and Administrator over "Pacific Mission Training Centre" in Matafele, Apia, Western Samoa, and is now retired, writing, and publishing. No amount of background can prepare a person to do justice to the title of this book, "The Deity of Christ Jesus." The subject alone requires more than acquired knowledge; that a man of flesh could be God and Man. The great doctrine of "The Dual Nature of Christ Jesus" in the Christian faith hangs upon this very concept: if Jesus fails the test of being God in the flesh then Christianity finds itself to be but another religious movement with an earthly founder and no more. I have approached this subject from the foundation of: That the Scriptures as we have them are true and without error: And Jesus answering said unto them, Do ye not therefore err, because ye know not the scriptures, neither the power of God? (Mark 12:24) That no outside source, other than the Scriptures, is needed to substantiate this truth. Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. (John 5:39) Scripture supporting Scripture is the most sure way to build truth: If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken; (John 10:35) I therefore submit to you the reader that Jesus came in the flesh of man and was Himself none less than God according to the Scriptures: In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. (John 1:1) I make no apologies for believing the Scriptures to be Divinely Inspired and Without Error.

Book excerpt: Before the New Testament or the creeds of the church were written—the devotional practices of the earliest Christians indicate that they worshipped Jesus alongside the Father. Larry W. Hurtado has been one of the leading scholars on early Christology for decades. In Honoring the Son: Jesus in Earliest Christian Devotional Practice, Hurtado helps readers understand early Christology by examining not just what early Christians believed or wrote about Jesus, but what their devotional practices tell us about the place of Jesus in early Christian worship. Drawing on his extensive knowledge of early Christian origins and scholarship on New Testament Christology, Hurtado examines the distinctiveness of early Christian worship by comparing it to both Jewish worship patterns and worship practices within the broader Roman--era religious environment. He argues that the inclusion of the risen Jesus alongside the Father in early Christian devotional practices was a distinct and unique religious phenomenon within its ancient context. Additionally, Hurtado demonstrates that this remarkable development was not invented decades after the resurrection of Christ as some scholars once claimed. Instead, the New Testament suggests that Jesus--followers, very quickly after the resurrection of Christ, began to worship the Son alongside the Father. Honoring the Son offers a look into the worship habits of the earliest Christians to understand the place of Jesus in early Christian devotion.
