Book excerpt: Do you have a demon that you cannot get rid of? Has God tried to get your attention? God finally got my attention and showed me the way, the truth, and the life that set me free. Free from an addiction that was destroying me and my family and my friendships. I had gambled compulsively for ten years. I was in deep debt, and no one knew itexcept God. Then my family began to figure out that I had a problem. God used my family to get my attention. God wanted me to change. Once I admitted to myself that I had a gambling problem, God sent me to the desert of Las Vegas to beat it. I went on a four-day trip with my mom and tried to not bet once. I met Jesus over and over during my journey. During my pilgrimage, I had extraordinary experiences and interesting interactions. In the end, God helped me beat gambling on its own turf, Sin City. I grew so much because of this journey. God wanted me to share it with you.

Book excerpt: High on the Mountain is a prophetic and historical documentation of the Jewish people. Four thousand years ago, the Jewish people were in an area which would, two thousand years later, be named by the Romans as Palestinia. God made a covenant with Abraham and his descendants that the land would be theirs forever. Prophecy stated that the Jewish descendants would go into captivity. Four hundred fifty years later they were led from their Egyptian captivity and occupied the land of their fathers. High on the mountain of Moriah was a city called Jerusalem, which would become their capital city under David. There was also a thirty-five-acre plot of land that had been dedicated as the Temple Mount and would become known to the world as the holiest plot of land in the world. The Jewish people and their beloved city would survive until 587 BC, when they were taken into captivity by the Babylonians. They would return to the land that they considered their homeland. They were almost completely destroyed by the Romans in AD 70 and would be scattered throughout the world. The land became a desolation and unproductive--just as prophecy had stated. Although they have been subjected to a multitude of attacks, cruelties, persecutions, and deaths by the millions, they would again return to their beloved land and become the Nation of Israel. They would reclaim their capital city of Jerusalem and the Temple Mount. A land that was said to be "dead forever" would again flourish and become productive. Why was this land so important? What is their claim to the land? Who actually owns the land? How could a land become productive again and "better than before"? What has the prophetic word of God said about this land and these people? High on the Mountain will address all these questions and much more.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "US Hawaiians" 50th State Strong Dear Reader, Although this entire book chronicles the absolutely true account of the supernatural experiences I witnessed, and the manner in which God had dealt with me all throughout my life, the names of some people have been changed to protect the innocent, and to protect myself from civil liability and self-incrimination. Also, a certain minor detail of the make and model of a particular vehicle was changed to conceal the identity of the guilty party. Dan Ward The (ancient) Bible scriptures that are written down in this book are much more than just ordinary words on a page. It isn't like when you are reading from any other book. The Bible tells us that these are the inspired Word(s) from God Himself; therefore, the Word(s) have supernatural effect on the reader. When you are reading the Scriptures, think of it as if God Himself is speaking to you directly. There is real power in the Word of God. Read and meditate on the Word, and let it change your life. The King James version is less diluted (watered down), and, therefore, has more power. This is what the Bible says: "And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us." That was Jesus. This is still Jesus, now and forever.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Augustine has been called the greatest man possessed by the Christian church between Paul and Luther. His writings continue to be read and studied, and they continue to influence the church. But where does one turn to discover what Augustine wrote concerning theological topics such as Scripture, God, Christ, humanity, salvation? How can one find out what Augustine said about the relation between faith and reason, about evil, about ethics? Identifying the key passages in Augustine's works on any one topic can be exhausting and even impossible for the student. In this volume such passages are quoted, allowing students to become acquainted with one of Christendom's greatest theologians through his own words and in a volume of manageable length. Each quote or group of quotes is summarized by a sentence heading, which in turn is part of a well-organized outline. In the chapter on faith and reason, for example, the quoted material is divided into these major groupings: (1) reason precedes initial faith, (2) faith precedes full reasoning or understanding, (3) reason or understanding is the reward of faith, (4) reason can stand on its own for faith, (5) reason helps confirm faith, (6) faith goes beyond reason, and (7) faith never goes against reason, nor reason against faith. The editor has drawn on a wide variety of sources, including Augustine's theological writings, sermons, letters, and 'Confessions'. All quotations are documented, providing the reader easy access to the full context of each excerpt. Augustine (354-430) was bishop of Hippo in Roman North Africa from 396 to his death.
