  • Pages : pages

Download or read book Study of Japanese Swords written by Yurie Endo Halchak and published by Alpha Book Publisher. This book was released on 2021-07-23 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is a series of entry-level lectures on the Japanese sword and its history for those who are interested in studying Japanese art swords. The Japanese sword was basically designed as a weapon, but Japanese swordsmiths imbued qualities of grace and beauty into the blades as well as functional superiority. The intricate patterns of surface and texture formed by their highly developed forging and tempering techniques were made only in Japan. In the past, the Japanese looked at the swords as a spiritual symbol of Samurai, temples, and shrines. Nowadays, the Japanese regard swords as a cultural art object made of steel. Varieties of the appearance of swords are closely related to historical events. Textures, contours, and tempering designs are characteristics of a particular school (Den 伝) of swordsmiths. This is a series of lectures that discuss each period's history then talk about the swordsmiths' schools that were active in a particular province at the time. Because of that, each section starts with the history of the time. It is necessary to discuss history to see the flow of the events that affected the swords' shape and style.

I shall continue to seek the Father in order to give His people divine revelation in their thoughts as well as in their walk within their lives. It is the Father Jehovah that inspires us spiritually to draw the reader inward, in order to have an intimate walk within our heart to walk with Him. It is without question that it is God who awakens one's heart to seek His son, Jesus. It is He that wants His plan and purpose to be fulfilled in our lives and to show us that in the midst of life trials, there is still a word from the Father. God has always been concerned about you, the saints of God in Christ Jesus. He loves you with an everlasting love. He showed humanity His agape love, when He thought it not robbery to give His Son, Jesus, to take our place, by being on the cross. That was designed for the sins of humanity ... each and every one of us individually! Thank God for His Son! We have been redeemed by His blood! IT IS FINISHED! His immeasurable love raised Jesus from the dead. Hallelujah! For He sent forth His Son that we might have life and life that more abundantly, so that we will have true intimacy, fellowship, communion, and relationship with Jesus. After all is said and done, after we have repented, we shall have true forgiveness from our sins, thereby receiving healing, growth, and restoration for ourselves as we restore love to one another with forgiveness! With the sword of the spirit in my mouth, I decree as well as command, that I am a victorious woman of God, without any constraints to do the will of the Father Jehovah in Jesus' name. Amen! It is God's will for all the saints of God to seek and to save those who are lost-to teach the found to go after the lost, so that all shall be saved and none perish.

  • Author : Dick Westwood

  • Pages : 257 pages

Download or read book The Two Swords written by Dick Westwood and published by Strategic Book Publishing. This book was released on 2013 with total page 257 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Two Swords is a sweeping overview of medieval European politics, in which author Dick Westwood highlights the events and forces that lead to the breakdown of the European cultural and political unity, which it had enjoyed under Roman rule. But a golden age of unity in Europe was not forgotten and there remained a prevailing belief, not in progress, but in the need to restore the unity, prosperity and security that had been lost. By the 10th century Europe's best minds were convinced that the Empire could be restored, and further perfected as a "Holy Roman Empire," designed by God to be ruled by the spiritual sword of the pope and a temporal sword wielded by the emperor. Together they would perfect an all-embracing Christendom, ready to await the return of Christ and his rule over the earth. But the two swords turned against each other and a united Christendom was lost. Nevertheless sentiment to restore European unity prevailed, ultimately leading to the formation of the European Union. Working for a multinational corporation and later for the Australian government as a senior diplomat, Dick Westwood has traveled, lived, and worked across much of the world. At the age of 20 he drove from London to Calcutta, via Afghanistan, and at 40 he went around the globe using surface transport. As a diplomat posted to numerous foreign assignments, Westwood has always strongly believed in acquiring a thorough understanding of the historical circumstances that have shaped the countries in which he served. Book Drawn Swords in a Distant Land

Download or read book Drawn Swords in a Distant Land written by George J. Veith and published by Encounter Books. This book was released on 2021-03-23 with total page 594 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Drawn Swords in a Distant Land showcases the fascinating, untold story of the rise and fall of the Republic of Vietnam. Putting aside outdated ideological debates, it offers the first in-depth review of the South Vietnamese successes and failures in building and defending their state. Drawn Swords highlights the career of President Nguyen Van Thieu, who in many ways embodied the hopes, dreams, and innumerable tragedies of the South Vietnamese people. It details the extent to which the Vietnamese Nationalists under his leadership built a viable state after the 1968 Tet Offensive; weaves together the policy decisions made in Washington, Hanoi, and Saigon that significantly determined the course of the war; and explains why South Vietnam was defeated in April 1975. Equally important, it provides stunning new details about how the coup against Ngo Dinh Diem was almost halted, describes the backroom maneuvering that chose Thieu for the presidency over Nguyen Cao Ky, and demonstrates that Richard Nixon was not the instigator of a conspiracy with Thieu known as the “Chennault Affair” to win the 1968 election. Even more explosive, Drawn Swords reveals the last, great secret of the Vietnam War: a plot by France during the last days, in conjunction with one of Hanoi’s allies, to prevent North Vietnam from conquering Saigon. This previously unknown scheme, along with many other intriguing new insights, sheds fresh light on the tumultuous struggle called the Vietnam War. Drawn Swords is the definitive and much overdue account of Thieu and the Second Republic.

Book Swords of Lightning

Download or read book Swords of Lightning written by Hector Luis Bonilla and published by Phone Books via PublishDrive. This book was released on 2019-01-23 with total page 146 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Traditionally, authors publish their biographies last. So, here is why Hector Luis Bonilla is sending his first. He wants you to explore the intellectual origin of the Manunnaki Order of Heaven, the Fellowship of Natur effort, and his science concerning floating city development with the understanding that his background is completely unorthodox. He does not want the future of a success to attack his readers with ‘surprises.’ Bonilla is putting all his cards on the table now. There will be no media whistle blowing on the future of his carrier. If you don’t like his past, and you believe, as many do, that humans do not deserve a second chance, so be it. But you were here first and, therefore, I kid you not. His past notwithstanding, who cares! The important thing is to never stop questioning. Who knows, maybe you can learn a thing or two from his Chronicles of Moon Earth.

Book Ploughshares Into Swords

  • Author : James Sidbury

  • Release : 1997-10-13

Download or read book Ploughshares Into Swords written by James Sidbury and published by Cambridge University Press. This book was released on 1997-10-13 with total page 308 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: During the summer of 1800, slaves in and around Richmond conspired to overthrow their masters and abolish slavery. This book uses Gabriel's Conspiracy, and the evidence produced during the repression of the revolt, to expose the processes through which Virginians of African descent built an oppositional culture. Sidbury portrays the rich cultures of eighteenth-century black Virginians, and the multiple, and sometimes conflicting, senses of identity that emerged among enslaved and free people living in and around the rapidly growing state capital. The book also examines the conspirators' vision of themselves as God's chosen people, and the complicated African and European roots of their culture. In so doing, it offers an alternative interpretation of the meaning of the Virginia that was home to so many of the Founding Fathers. This narrative focuses on the history and perspectives of black and enslaved people, in order to develop 'Gabriel's Virginia' as a counterpoint to more common discussions of 'Jeffersonian Virginia'.
