Book The Psychic Driving Instructor

Download or read book The Psychic Driving Instructor written by David Smith and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2015-04-20 with total page 126 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Ever looked back on a part of your life and wonder, "did that really happen?" That is exactly the question I kept asking myself when I was writing this book! When I was 50 years old I was just a driving instructor from a down to earth working class family with a Wife and two children. I was an ordinary man from Manchester who was brought up on a Cheshire Council estate and liked football, latin and ballroom dancing, playing guitar and a good laugh! I still am an ordinary man but one with a very clear idea of what life is all about and it is not perhaps what you might think it is. My life changed dramatically and within two years I had the most intense training from the Spirit world that gave me insights into life on the other side, the 2012 Cosmic Moment, the meaning of true unconditional love and how we have lost our connection with spirit and continually defy our intuition in favour of material gain and perceived wealth. Yet it is our intuition that guides us to make the correct important decisions in our lives. As a Driving Instructor I had a way of teaching that was slightly different from the usual driving instructor techniques in that I would encourage the pupil to think and make their own decisions. I am not alone in this but many people see my role as one of telling people what to do and how to do it. I always insisted that my role was to make people think and, as I progressed along my boot camp Spiritual training, I realized that what I was actually teaching was an intuitive way of working out problems on the road. I used examples of situations far removed from driving to make people think about how these skills could be used in every day life and, as a result, most of my pupils passed their driving test at the first attempt. I was giving my pupils more than just driving lessons - they were being taught about intuition and how valuable it is. What I was receiving was the insight into intuition in the physical world that would be explained to me in spectacular style when I got the call from the Spirit World. The book is divided into chapters that explain how I was contacted by the Spirit World and trained in a very short time to recognise and use various psychic skills, how spirit used the people I was teaching to train me in the skills I needed to develop, and how I began to realise that learning to drive is very similar to the spiritual path each one of us walks every day. Anecdotal evidence is used, as well as my conclusions about what I had learnt and understood. The book can be received on many levels. It can be seen as a book about driving instruction, spiritual awakening, inspirational, philosophical, or just an amusing story of one man's awakening. However you decide to approach this book you will find it written in an ordinary way because, after all, I am an ordinary man!

Book You Girls Stay Here

Download or read book You Girls Stay Here written by Elizabeth Poynter and published by Cambridge Scholars Publishing. This book was released on 2018-12-14 with total page 192 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book will be of interest to students of both children’s literature and gender studies. It re-examines a period long considered to be of poor quality as regards children’s books. It explores a range of themes, such as female agency, power and courage, and additionally gives a linguistic analysis of selected texts. The book adopts a socio-cultural approach, placing the authors in their historical context. By focusing on a small number of authors in depth, it discovers subtleties perhaps ignored by a broad-brush approach. While reflecting their era in some respects, these writers also demonstrated individuality in their representation of gender, offering a wider range of models to their readers than previous critics have acknowledged.

Book Women s Journey to Empowerment in the 21st Century

Download or read book Women s Journey to Empowerment in the 21st Century written by Kristen Zaleski and published by Oxford University Press. This book was released on 2019-10-03 with total page 400 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Women's Journey to Empowerment in the 21st Century offers a global view into the patriarchal attitudes that shape cultural practices that oppress women and continue to take form in the modern era. In closely examining a range of issues--from the college campus rape epidemic in the United States to the climate change effects in Ghana--this book compels readers to utilize a contextual framework in order to take a closer look into contemporary violence and oppression against women in our world. Written through the lens of transnational feminism, it examines the intersections of nationhood, race, gender, sexuality, and economics within the context of a world shaped by globalization and colonialism, causing the redefinition of borders and the realignment of migration patterns. A transnational feminist perspective also supports a definition of global sisterhood based on equity, understanding, and mutual experiences. Students focusing on social justice, social work, women's studies, feminist theory, and/or violence against women will find the book to be an invaluable resource.

Book An American Queer The Amazon Trail

Download or read book An American Queer The Amazon Trail written by Lee Lynch and published by Bold Strokes Books Inc. This book was released on 2014-10-01 with total page 270 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This collection of Lee Lynch's columns chronicles over a quarter century of queer life in the United States, from the last decades of the twentieth century into the twenty-first. ÒFrom the beginning of my writing career, I just wanted to write about lesbian/gay life as I experienced it. Like so many, I came from a place of great isolation. At the same time, being gay filled me with great pride and joy. Writers Jane Rule, Isabelle Miller, Radclyffe Hall, Valerie Taylor, Ann Bannon, and Vin Packer gave me inspiration and even the lesbian companionship I needed as a baby dyke. More than anything, I want to give to gay people what those writers gave me. And I want to do it well enough that my words might someday be considered literature and, as such, might endure because, as open as some societies have become, there are always haters, and cycles of oppression. Our writers strengthen us, offer a sense of solidarity and validation that we are both more than our sexualities and are among the best that humanity offers.Ó

Book Men Are Stupid Women Are Crazy

Download or read book Men Are Stupid Women Are Crazy written by Peter Ruehl and published by Melbourne Univ. Publishing. This book was released on 2011-10-01 with total page 320 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Ruehl's irreverent wit and ability to puncture pretentiousness with a well-turned phrase gave thousands of dedicated readers a good reason to read the paper back to front on the days the column appeared. His descriptions of growing up with teenage children are laugh-out-loud funny (well, for parents), and a younger generation of readers decided he was cool, with his constant satirical references to their music, dress and approach to life. Politicians sometimes winced but knew his hilarious descriptions of what was really going on in Canberra resonated more loudly than any press release. Peter Ruehl never lost his distinctive American style but he was able to understand Australian culture and to write about it and his views in a passionately funny and deeply personal way. Greg Hywood, chief executive of Fairfax, says he became a 'national institution'.
