Previous to his departure he was examined by the Committee of Missions, who, highly approving of him as qualified for such a mission, unanimously appointed him to that service, and by prayer commended him to the Divine blessing. It is expected that he will obtain a guide and interpreter at New Stockbridge, or somewhere in that neighborhood, and then proceed on to the southwest part of Lake Erie, and visit the Indian tribes in that quarter.
