Download or read book Perovskite Materials and Devices 2 Volumes written by Liming Ding and published by Wiley-VCH. This book was released on 2022-06-21 with total page 704 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Perovskite Materials and Devices A comprehensive overview of the important scientific and technological advances in commercialization of this important mineral Perovskite has held much interest for scientists and industrialists, as the mineral is abundantly available in nature. Due to the intriguing and unusual physical properties of perovskite materials—the high-absorption coefficient, low exciton-binding energy, and high dielectric constant, for example—there has been substantial focus on perovskite’s potential in applications. In particular, they have been of great use in sensors and catalyst electrodes, certain types of fuel cells, solar cells, lasers, memory devices, and spintronics, and as a result hold exciting opportunities for physicists, chemists, and material scientists alike. Perovskite Materials and Devices comprehensively covers all the milestone work in perovskites research, systematically introducing the properties, methods, and technologies associated with the mineral from fundamentals to promising applications to commercialization issues. The book focuses on traditional and novel electronic operations, such as solar cells, LEDs, lasing, photodetectors, X-ray detectors, transistors, and more. It also investigates ways to make the use of such materials more environmentally friendly, which in turn can make perovskite minerals more commercially viable. Perovskite Materials and Devices readers will also find Summaries of the latest state-of-the-art developments and technologies, such as perovskite nanocrystals and novel electronic devices Detailed discussion of organic/inorganic hybrid perovskites, all-inorganic perovskite CsPbX3, and lead-free halide perovskites Investigation of the photovoltaic applications, namely single-crystal devices, tandem cells, integrated devices, semi-transparent devices, and flexible devices Description of large-area module fabrication and stability investigating Perovskite Materials and Devices is a useful reference for materials scientists, solid state physicists and chemists, surface physicists and chemists, and electronic engineers. It is also an ideal resource for libraries that supply these fields.

Download or read book Supramolecular Chemistry written by Vincenzo Balzani and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 465 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The first NATO Science Forum was held in Biarritz in September 1990. This Taormina Conference is the second in a series that we wish to be a long one and I believe that it has equalled the success of its predecessor. In setting up these meetings the NATO Science Committee wanted to gather leading experts to review fields of strong present interest. It was intended that presentations and discussions should pay special attention to potential developments. This "forward look" is indeed precious to us in mapping out the evolution of our Science Programme but more importantly, it is an essential part of the progress of Science. I believe that NATO, being able to bring together eminent scientists from both sides of the Atlantic, is in a priviliged position to provide this service to our Scientific Community. It was only proper that Chemistry should be one of the first areas to be targeted: a central science with many rich borders touching on other disciplines, it deserved the full attention of our Committee. In its vast domain, among many possible topics, the present one was carefully selected and its choice resulted from an extensive consultation of many leading chemists. The large fraction of replies which pointed to Supramolecular Chemistry left us with little doubt about the timeliness of a Forum in this area and the strong interest attached to it.

The book concludes with chapters addressing the chemical functionalization of endohedral metallofullerenes, and applications ranging from solar cells to biomedicine.
Download or read book Selectivities in Lewis Acid Promoted Reactions written by Dieter Schinzer and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 326 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The ASI workshop on "Selectivities in Lewis Acid Promoted Reactions" held in the Emmantina-Hotel in Athens-Glyfada, Greece, October 2-7, 1988 was held to bring some light into the darkness of Lewis acid induced processes. As such the workshop reflects some current trends in organic synthesis, where Lewis acids are becoming a powerful tool in many different modern reactions, e.g. Diels-Alder reactions, Ene reactions, Sakurai reactions, and in general silicon and tin chemistry. The objective of this meeting was to bring together most of the world experts in the field to discuss the major reactions promoted by Lewis acids. Organic synthesis will play a major role in this book connected with some fundamental mechanistic work on allylsilane and -tin chemistry. Both natural product synthesis and unnatural molecules are presented in the chapters. The book presents all the 15 invited lectures and the contributions of 15 posters. I am confident that the material presented in this book will stimulate the chemistry, which has been discussed on our meeting, around the world. The meeting and the book were only possible through a grant of the NATO Scientific Affairs Devision and financial support by the following companies: Kali Chemie (Hannover, W-Germany), E. Merck (Darmstadt, W-Germany), Sandoz (Basel, Switzerland), Schering (Berlin, W-Germany).
Download or read book Chirality in Drug Research written by Eric Francotte and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2007-09-24 with total page 370 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Divided into the three main sections of synthesis, analysis and drug development, this handbook covers all stages of the drug development process, including large-scale synthesis and purification of chirally pure pharmaceuticals. The two editors from academia and a major pharmaceutical company have assembled an experienced, international team who provide first-hand practical advice and report previously unpublished data. In the first section, the isolation of chiral drugs from natural sources, their production in enzymatic processes and the resolution of racemic mixtures in preparative chromatography are outlined in separate chapters. For the section on qualitative and quantitative analysis, enantioselective chromatographic methods are presented as well as optical methods and CE-MS, while the final section deals with the pharmacology, pharmacokinetics and metabolic aspects of chiral drugs, devoting whole chapters to stereoselective drug binding and modeling chiral drug-receptor interactions. With its unique industry-relevant aspects, this is a must for medicinal and pharmaceutical chemists.
