Die Macht der Sprache Der Rahmen dieser Auseinandersetzung mit dem Titel 'Interkulturelle Gespräche aus linguistischer und kultureller Perspektive' ergibt sich in Berufung auf ein primäres Gedankengebäude, womit im wesentlichen die Annahme über die Wechselwirkung von Kultur und Kommunikation gemeint ist. Derartige Überlegungen reichen weit zurück, sodass sich sogar einst ein großer Denker wie Johann Gottfried von Herder damit beschäftigt hat. Schließlich ist die Frage, inwiefern jede Sprache eine eigene Art hat die Welt wahrzunehmen, für einen so bedeutenden Kulturphilosoph und Schriftsteller der Weimarer Klassik unumgänglich. Noch heutzutage lässt sich beobachten, dass die Sprache ein Produkt des kulturellen Verhaltens ist und dieses wiederum durch kommunikativ vermittelte Inhalte determiniert wird.1 Diese Schlussfolgerung impliziert die Relevanz einer detaillierten Untersuchung von Variationen im Diskurs, wobei hierfür eine Schwerpunktsetzung auf die verbale Kommunikation zwischen Gesprächspartnern aus unterschiedliche Kulturen erfolgt ist. Dafür wurde nach Klärung der kulturell-kommunikativen Interdependenz im ersten Abschnitt zunächst gezeigt, inwiefern linguistische Elemente bewusst oder unbewusst dazu benutzt werden, um den Kommunikationspartner zu einem bestimmten Verhalten zu verleiten. Eine Erörterung damit einhergehender Störungen des Gesprächsklimas wurde anhand des Vergleichs von alljenen Zeitungsartikeln vorgenommen, die die chinesische Menschenrechtsproblematik zum Gegenstand hatten. Aufgrund der Tatsache, dass zurzeit die Olympischen Spiele in Peking stattfinden, ist dieses Thema besonders hinsichtlich der freien Berichterstattung und dem Zugang zu bestimmten Recherchequellen an Aktualität kaum zu übertreffen. Eine Diskussion der Menschenrechtsproblematik in China fand auch im Vorfeld und nicht nur im Zusammenhang mit Olympia in der westlichen Öffentlichkeit statt. Schließlich sprach sogar die deutsche Bundeskanzlerin Angela Merkel von unveräußerlichen Werten zur freien Entfaltung des Charakters. .....
