Book Der j dische Friedhof bei Binswangen The Jewish Cemetery at Binswangen

Download or read book Der j dische Friedhof bei Binswangen The Jewish Cemetery at Binswangen written by Yehuda Shenef and published by BoD – Books on Demand. This book was released on 2016-05-17 with total page 242 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. The JEWISH CEMETERY of BINSWANGEN was established in 1663 and was several times enlarged. After the Nazis had destroyed the entire compound as well as the stone wall, it took yearlong court proceedings to prompt the local stone mason to give back the stolen tomb stones, which than were replaced at the reduced graveyard, however rather randomly. The bilingual (German-English) book has all Hebrew inscriptions along with translations and photos. From the widely unknown medieval history of Jews in neighboring Wertingen as well as family history, house registers and maps until the end of the Jewish community of Binswangen with offspring all over the world.
