Book The Activation of Dioxygen and Homogeneous Catalytic Oxidation

Download or read book The Activation of Dioxygen and Homogeneous Catalytic Oxidation written by D.H.R. Barton and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 503 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This monograph consists of the proceedings of the Fifth International Symposium on the Activation of Dioxygen and Homogeneous Catalytic Oxidation, held in College Station, Texas, March 14-19, 1993. It contains an introductory chapter authored by Professors D. H. R. Barton and D. T. Sawyer, and twenty-nine chapters describing presentations by the plenary lecturers and invited speakers. One of the invited speakers, who could not submit a manuscript for reasons beyond his control, is represented by an abstract of his lecture. Also included are abstracts of forty-seven posters contributed by participants in the symposium. Readers who may wish to know more about the subjects presented in abstract form are invited to communicate directly with the authors of the abstracts. This is the fifth international symposium that has been held on this subject. The first was hosted by the CNRS, May 21-29, 1979, in Bendor, France (on the Island of Bandol). The second meeting was organized as a NATO workshop in Padova, Italy, June 24-27, 1984. This was followed by a meeting in Tsukuba, Japan, July 12-16, 1987. The fourth symposium was held at Balatonfured, Hungary, September 10-14, 1990. The sixth meeting is scheduled to take place in Delft, The Netherlands (late Spring, 1996); the organizer and host will be Professor R. A. Sheldon.

Book Enantioselective Titanium catalysed Transformations

Download or read book Enantioselective Titanium catalysed Transformations written by Helene Pellissier and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 2016-01-15 with total page 278 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Chiral titanium complexes are low-cost, low-toxicity and high-efficiency catalysts. Impressive progress on enantioselective titanium-catalysed transformations has been achieved in the past seven years, with exciting new discoveries ranging from basic reactions to novel methodologies. Despite this, the field has not been substantially reviewed since 2008.This book contains up to date research and covers all types of enantioselective transformations using chiral titanium catalysts. It illustrates the economic, health, and environmental benefits of chiral titanium catalysts, showing the types of highly enantioselective reactions that they are able to induce are unlimited.Work presented here is aimed at researchers in organic and catalytic chemistry, and has been carefully curated to encourage future research possibilities.

Book Magnetism and Transition Metal Complexes

Download or read book Magnetism and Transition Metal Complexes written by F. E. Mabbs and published by Courier Corporation. This book was released on 2008-01-11 with total page 244 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This text presents a detailed view of the calculation methods involved in the magnetic properties of transition metal complexes. Starting at an elementary level, it proceeds gradually through theory and calculations to offer sufficient background for original work in the field. No specialized knowledge of magnetism is assumed in the introductory chapters, which offer basic definitions and generalizations of magnetic behavior and briefly review both crystal field theory and perturbation theory. Succeeding chapters explore calculations of the magnetic properties of cubic and axially distorted complexes. Featuring the complete calculation for spin-orbit coupling and magnetic field perturbations for one d-configuration, the text also discusses derivations and results for other configurations. Other topics include the magnetism of polynuclear species, in which antiferromagnetic ordering occurs over small numbers of centers. Detailed calculations by the dipolar coupling approach are given, and the results are applied to a number of studies from the literature.
