Book Family Id Intentional Direction

Download or read book Family Id Intentional Direction written by Greg Gunn and published by . This book was released on 2012-01-01 with total page 164 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "The first time we had lunch together over a decade ago. What I thought would be just another lunch with a great guy from my church turned into a pivotal meeting for my life and family. With overwhelming passion, Greg barely touched his chicken sandwich as he vividly described to me all the plans he had for the Gunn family. 'Our family is our most important ministry. And if we help them know Christ, we can change the world!' Greg blurted out with contagious faith." ---Craig Groeschel There is a gigantic disconnect that exists in our minds. Really just a mirage-like separation between worlds: the spiritual and the secular. Certain basic principles are required to run a successful business - a decent business plan and goals. Try to leave as little as possible to chance and maximize your efficiency by making sure everything you do has a purpose. And furthermore that purpose serves the business. That same successful businessperson goes home, and doesn't have a clue. It's as though he thinks everything that he wants to happen at home is just going to happen by accident. That somehow it's just going to come together. It does not. Our goal is to teach and train more than one million families to "stir it up" and draw out the God-given purpose for their family, to lead them to "write it down," to equip them to "live it out," and inspire them to"pass it on" to future generations.

Book 365 Days to Level up Purpose and Passion

Download or read book 365 Days to Level up Purpose and Passion written by Michael Assibey-Bonsu and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2018-05-11 with total page 148 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is a short description by the author, Michael Assibey-Bonsu, on how living the 365 principles for 365 days, found in this book, propelled him profoundly forward in life. The principles outlined in this book have completely shifted the way I see and view life on a day-to-day basis. Take, for example, the three deepest internalized principles of self-awareness, complete expression, and three for eight and ten for thirty. At the beginning of 2017, when I began to internally understand and practice these, they allowed me to uncover and harness my passion, which had always been loosely tied to business and people. From becoming self-aware and understanding my passions, I began to completely express myself as who I am, nothing more and nothing less, which uncovered access to numerous untapped gifts and strengths I had no idea existed within me. This is how my startup companies of Nector and Digital Proof came into being and also how my latest project, Social Proof, is unfolding. These have all been created as a result of me following my passions, from self-awareness to completely expressing myself, together with living the 365 principles expressed in this book. From that point forward, the world and my purpose therein became clear, and the companies and teams I was able to build evolved effortlessly, as if an unseen yet guiding hand was directing me. I realized how everything had converged and, as a result, was able to continue adding more ideas and further innovation, which led to me understanding that I had tapped into my purpose, creating a bright and futuristic feeling. Thereafter, I followed the principle of three for eight and ten for thirty, which is the view that the future is bright and my purpose is even brighter. So the understanding that it will take a while to fully come to fruition leads to the realization and acceptance of the number of years I will have to keep moving toward my goals so as to reach who I was created to be. With these principles, the way is now clear, and I wake every day with a sense of fulfillment, regardless of the understanding of how long it may take. I now know what the end feels and looks like, which ultimately balances my passion and my purpose. This is such a powerful state of mind, and the greatest gift of wisdom that has been given to me by God the creator thus far. By positioning myself for greatness and following these 365 drops of wisdom, I wake up every day satisfied, before Ive even reached my best self. These principles are not mine alone, but they are ours to share with all. I truly hope that my journey in following these 365 truths is emulated by many others and that they also reap the benefits and future they richly deserve. The present is bright, the past is forgotten, and the future is clear.

Book A Passion for Purpose

Download or read book A Passion for Purpose written by Sly James and published by Ascend Books. This book was released on 2019-07-24 with total page 304 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In this candid autobiography that seamlessly incorporates political philosophy, the life story of Kansas City, Missouri Mayor Sylvester "Sly" James is told in a fast-paced, entertaining, informative, and authentic style. Elected to the mayor's office in 2011 as a political outsider, James immediately made his mark with his unflinching candor. That tone carries over to this book, as James holds nothing back when detailing the life experiences that shape his core values and beliefs. James strongly believes the only government that runs efficiently is local government, and he details how politics on the civic level should be implemented on the state and federal stages. Although he was elected in a nonpartisan process, James reveals his strong and reasoned political leanings. A fierce advocate for children, James has targeted reading proficiency for third graders as a benchmark for success in later life. Consistent with this, Education is the first of the "4 E Agenda" he created as mayor, along with Employment, Efficiency, and Enforcement. The product of all-black neighborhoods, James always felt comfortable interacting with people different from himself--whether it be in forms of race, religion, ethnicity, or beliefs. In an era when segregation was still the norm, James attended a predominantly-white Catholic high school, was the sole black member in a rock band, and later entered into a mixed-race marriage. When he became the first black lawyer for a prestigious Kansas City law firm, James immediately thrived by showcasing his intelligence and work ethic. Along with his service during the Vietnam War era, these experiences laid the foundation for James to become mayor of a city that still bears the signs of an unofficially-segregated past. When he won re-election to the office in 2015 with an amazing 87 percent of the vote, it was a crystal clear indication that James is first and foremost a unifier of the people. A Passion For Purpose serves not just as the title of this revealing and perceptive book, but also as the mantra by which Sly James based his tenure as mayor--and his life.
