Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: I'm compelled by a profound calling to pen this book for every woman who senses a divine destiny and understands that they are God's woman. It's our time to embody the strength and might of Deborah from the pages of the Bible. This book is also meant for every woman who feels a supernatural summons to embrace the resilience and fortitude of Deborah, as chronicled within the sacred pages of the Bible. Deborah, a luminous example of influence, sagacity, and unwavering strength, was divinely chosen by the Almighty Himself. She graced history as a renowned leader and a prophetic oracle during an era when an entire nation found itself mired in the depths of hopelessness. It is now time for us to take up our mantles and wield them with fierce power! Penned for every fierce woman, resigned in their determination to roar into their destined purpose. I humbly dedicate this book to every remarkable woman who has journeyed through the trials of life, bravely in faith, strength, and the unwavering courage to believe God and his divine plan. May this tribute stand as a testament to the extraordinary resilience and audacious spirit of God's courageous daughters who have fearlessly believed.

Book excerpt: There is a role unique to women that we abandon easily. We live near each other, but not with each other--and not for each other. We don't want to intrude or judge and, maybe, we don't want to see each other truly succeed. And the world is happy with this unhappy state for women--one that pushes us to conform to a pattern of distrust, disengagement, and competition. It's no wonder we've lost ourselves, and our way. In her most personal, powerful book yet, New York Times bestselling author Lisa Bevere offers a catalytic, transformative vision for women of a different way to live--one that embraces the presence of a godmother--the older, wiser women you can go to and learn from, the strong women who partner with us through life. And everyone needs one! Drawing from her own life, biblical women, and the world of fairy tales, Lisa will show you how to transform what you have into what God wants you to have, push you forward during seasons of doubt, and love you enough to speak truth about God's larger, expansive view of your life. Lisa's candid, compassionate words are your best first step to living as a daughter of God, surrounded by strong relationships and confidence in your calling.

Download or read book The Story of Hebrew written by Lewis Glinert and published by Princeton University Press. This book was released on 2018-09-11 with total page 296 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Story of Hebrew explores the extraordinary hold that Hebrew has had on Jews and Christians, who have invested it with a symbolic power far beyond that of any other language in history. Preserved by the Jews across two millennia, Hebrew endured long after it ceased to be a mother tongue, resulting in one of the most intense textual cultures ever known. Hebrew was a bridge to Greek and Arab science, and it unlocked the biblical sources for Jerome and the Reformation. Kabbalists and humanists sought philosophical truth in it, and Colonial Americans used it to shape their own Israelite political identity. Today, it is the first language of millions of Israelis. A major work of scholarship, The Story of Hebrew is an unforgettable account of what one language has meant and continues to mean.

Download or read book The Book of Judges written by Martin Sicker and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2016-08-29 with total page 298 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The subject of this book is the prophetic history of the political-military leaders, called judges, that succeeded Joshua and led the tribes of Israel during the tumultuous anarchic period between the death of Joshua and the transformation of the Israelite confederation of tribes into a nation-state (as subsequently described in the biblical book of Samuel, presented in the Masoretic text of the biblical book of Judges.) The term prophetic history is employed to describe the subject because prophecy in biblical thought is not fatalistic and does not predict future events. What it does do is assert that the moral course that a society chooses to follow in the present can determine its probable but not inevitable future. The purpose of the biblical book is to inform the reader of the historical consequences of the failure to observe the terms of the divine covenant entered into between God and the children of Israel at Mount Sinai following the exodus from Egypt. Although the biblical narrative is based on events that were believed to have taken place, the primary focus of prophetic history is on the moral implications of the decisions taken by men rather than the factual accuracy of the details of the events described, which have been studied exhaustively by archaeologists and historians of the ancient world.
