Book Multidetector Row CT Angiography

Download or read book Multidetector Row CT Angiography written by Roberto Passariello and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2005-08-02 with total page 218 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Multidetector-row CT has dramatically improved the results of computed tomography in all clinical applications, but its beneficial impact has been most striking in vascular imaging. The simplicity of acquisition and the wide availability of equipment make this modality especially suitable for routine clinical application. In this book the basic aspects of multidetector-row CT angiography are comprehensively reviewed. Individual chapters are included on technical principles, image processing techniques and contrast agent administration. All clinical applications are then discussed in depth, with lucid descriptions of the examination technique for particular clinical indications and of the findings that characterize specific diseases. Limitations and advantages in comparison with other imaging modalities are considered. A large number of high-quality black and white and color illustrations help to explain the clinical findings.

Book Applied Radiological Anatomy

Download or read book Applied Radiological Anatomy written by Paul Butler and published by . This book was released on 2014-05-14 with total page 400 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "Introduction and imaging methods Computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) are the mainstays of cerebral imaging. Skull radiography now plays very little part in diagnosis, being largely replaced by multislice CT.Non- or minimally invasive angiography performed using CT, (CT angiography), or MRI, (magnetic resonance angiography), has resulted in invasive catheter angiography being reserved for a few special diagnostic indications or as part of an interventional, (therapeutic), procedure. Anatomical detail is far better displayed by MRI than by CT, although both are valuable in clinical practice"--

Book Angiography Interventional Radiology

Download or read book Angiography Interventional Radiology written by Tom Anniston and published by . This book was released on 2019-06-13 with total page 260 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Angiography is a medical imaging technique that is used to visualize the lumen of blood vessels and organs of the body, particularly the veins, arteries and heart chambers. The procedure is done by injecting a radio-opaque contrast agent into the blood stream of a patient, followed by X-ray based imaging like fluoroscopy. Depending on the area under observation, angiography can be of various types such as coronary angiography, fluorescein angiography, peripheral angiography, microangiography and post mortem CT angiography. It is done to identify narrowing vessels, visualize arterial and venous supply to the brain, visualize blood vessels and blood in the coronary arteries. This book elucidates new techniques and applications of interventional radiology in a multidisciplinary manner. It strives to provide a fair idea about angiography and to help develop a better understanding of the latest advances within this field. This book is a vital tool for all researching or studying radiology as it gives incredible insights into emerging trends and concepts.

Book Applied Cerebral Angiography

Download or read book Applied Cerebral Angiography written by Gianni Boris Bradac and published by Springer. This book was released on 2017-09-07 with total page 484 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book offers detailed guidance on the diagnostic use of cerebral angiography based on precise description of the angiographic appearances of normal anatomy and pathological conditions. In this third edition, every chapter has been thoroughly revised and enlarged to reflect new knowledge and experiences, and more attention is paid to the correlations between anatomopathological findings and clinical manifestations. Beyond explaining the diagnostic value of cerebral angiography, a key aim is to equip readers with the precise knowledge of the anatomy of cerebral vessels required for optimal application of endovascular therapy of pathologies involving the arteries and veins of the brain. As in preceding editions, the book is divided into two parts. The first part describes the normal anatomy, with attention to morphological aspects, embryological development, function, and vascular territories. The intraorbital and extracranial vascularization is also fully considered. The knowledge provided will serve as a sound basis for the correct interpretation of pathological processes and their clinical significance, as covered in depth in the second part of the book.

Book Diagnostic Imaging in Medicine

Download or read book Diagnostic Imaging in Medicine written by Richard C. Reba and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 723 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: An Advanced Study Institute on Ultrasonics in Medical Diagnosis was held in Milan, Italy, from 10 to 15 June 1974. This ASI was of a short five-day duration and limited to cardiac diagnosis by ultra sound only. Since that time, the field of diagnostic imaging in medicine has literally exploded with new and improved means of medical diagnosis such as computed tomography, microwaves, nuclear magnetic resonance and other sophisticated techniques. These developments have enabled medical practitioners to make diagnoses with a minimum of danger to the patient, and a maximum of accuracy never before possible, and represent a multi-quantum advance over the early state-of-the-art presented at the 1974 ASI. Since then, several meetings have taken place on these individual topics to bring together experts who presented their latest research results, but none have discussed the entire field of diagnostic imaging in medicine in one meeting nor have they had the teaching character of an Advanced Study Institute. The art and science of medicine have been altered repeatedly during the eight year interval since the last ASI. Today's clinician must be part technologist and must be enough of an investigator to understand and appreciate the scientific method. The current complex advances in instrumentation and pharmacology have had a marked effect on how medicine is practiced. There was, therefore, an urgent need to bring the entire field of imaging in medicine to one teaching podium where the many advances of the last six or seven years could be reviewed.

Download or read book Coronary Radiology written by Matthijs Oudkerk and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-06-29 with total page 295 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is the first monograph to focus exclusively on coronary radiology. It is particularly timely, given that the emergence of computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging, coupled with improvements in both hard- and software, has made reproducible non-invasive coronary imaging a practical reality. A wide range of topics is addressed, including: quantitative angiography, intravascular and quantitative ultrasound, multislice and electron beam computed tomography, magnetic resonance coronary angiography and use of the coronary calcium score as an independent risk factor. All of the latest developments, such as non-invasive intracoronary thrombus imaging, are covered. Particular care has been taken to consider the common questions confronted in asymptomatic patients. The text is supported by high-quality color images of the coronary and cardiac anatomy.
