Book Abundance and Length Composition of Arctic Grayling in the Delta Clearwater River 2023

Download or read book Abundance and Length Composition of Arctic Grayling in the Delta Clearwater River 2023 written by Laura Gutierrez and published by . This book was released on 2023 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Delta Clearwater River (DCR) Arctic grayling fishery supports one of the most important road-accessible Arctic grayling fisheries within the Tanana Drainage. An updated stock assessment is needed because one has not been conducted since 2006 and since the fishing season was extended in 2019 to year-round retention of 1 Arctic grayling per day, 12 inches total length (TL) or less. The purpose of this study is to obtain current abundance estimates of the DCR Arctic grayling population in 5 different length strata that may be considered as part of future regulatory proposals submitted by the public, advisory councils, or the department. Additionally, length composition estimates and a stock specific fork length (FL) to TL conversion will be determined. Obtaining a contemporary assessment will help managers evaluate the sustainability of potential regulatory changes.
