Book excerpt: This book is about my life growing up on a farm in central Wisconsin from 1968 till 1984. I was almost 4 when we moved from Milwaukee to an old run-down farmstead where I had many encounters and strange happenings throughout my life until I was almost 18 years old. We had a few animals and I had 4 brothers. I was the outdoors brother that was needed to do the farm work as well as being in the woods a lot to cut firewood that we needed a lot of. I spent many days up in our woods cutting wood from spring until the snow flew and couldn't get up there anymore for the winter. My other brothers worked in the upholstery shop year round. I did mostly the outdoor work but also worked in the shop. After thinking that all these strange happenings were human related from a hermit living in the neighbor's woods to my older brothers playing jokes on me. It wasn't until I was almost an adult that I had a close encounter that I even though it wasn't human related.

The thing just tucked me under one of his arms like I was a rag doll. My head was pushed down into that fur, and I almost gagged from the stench. With me under his arm, he walked around to the front of the truck. He moved in front of the lights and looked at me. It was as if he was inspecting me and deciding whether to keep me or throw me away. I knew I was in bad trouble if he dragged me off. I didn't know what he wanted with me.
