Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Your Name Is Your Blessing: Hebrew Names and Their Mystical Meanings represents the first time that the secrets of the Kabbalah, the mystical teachings of Jewish spiritual leaders, were introduced to the general public for the purpose of explaining the profound meanings hidden in every person’s name. Even now, Your Name is Your Blessing remains alone in its application of Kabbalistic teachings to the choice and understanding of one’s name. A name tells a story that captures a person’s character and personality, and Your Name Is Your Blessing, Benjamin and Elaine Blech provide a guide to understanding what your name says about you and your life. The Blechs give the gematria—the total numerical value of a word, which is the starting point for kabbalistic analysis—for hundreds of names, as well as Biblical words, phrases, and blessings associated with this numerical value.

She gives them boundless love, but there is never enough money or food, and life is hard --love doesn't feed hungry stomachs or clothe growing bodies, or school keen minds. A difficult choice must be made, and grandmother and grandchild set off on a journey to see if there is a place at the orphanage for Baraka. The story begins by looking at Baraka's physical disability as a misfortune, but ends by looking beyond the disability, to his great heart and spirit, and the blessings he brings.

If we follow the Maker's instructions, things tend to work better. Therefore, there is a 'with the flow' way to go, and an 'against the flow' way to go. How do we know which is which? What is the path of blessing? Using the markers of scripture, conscience, nature, observation, the faith community and the faith tradition, Pen show us how to discern the road of blessing in regard to money, relationships, the home, and the acceptance of responsibility. Book excerpt: New York Times bestseller What is Jesus worth to you? It's easy for American Christians to forget how Jesus said his followers would actually live, what their new lifestyle would actually look like. They would, he said, leave behind security, money, convenience, even family for him. They would abandon everything for the gospel. They would take up their crosses daily... But who do you know who lives like that? Do you? In Radical, David Platt challenges you to consider with an open heart how we have manipulated the gospel to fit our cultural preferences. He shows what Jesus actually said about being his disciple--then invites you to believe and obey what you have heard. And he tells the dramatic story of what is happening as a "successful" suburban church decides to get serious about the gospel according to Jesus. Finally, he urges you to join in The Radical Experiment -- a one-year journey in authentic discipleship that will transform how you live in a world that desperately needs the Good News Jesus came to bring.

Readers will be fascinated as it also delves into facts about the numbers 2, 701, 37, 73, and 541; "The end of the action was at first in thought"; unique features (and hints) of the letters forming the name Israel; and concluding remarks. Download or read book The Cross written by Benjamin Osei Kuffour Jnr. and published by XinXii. This book was released on 2017-02-01 with total page 56 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In contemporary Christianity, the cross is a symbol of the atonement and reminds Christians of God’s love in sacrificing His own Son for humanity. It represents Jesus’ victory over sin and death since it is believed that through His death and resurrection He conquered death itself. “Having disarmed the powers and authorities, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross” (Colossians 2:15). The Catholic Church celebrates the feast of the Triumph of the Cross under the same name In Exaltatione Sanctae Crucis on September 14th. What is the meaning of the cross? Simply put, the meaning of the cross is death. The cross was an instrument of execution that resulted in death by the most tortuous and painful of ways. In crucifixion a person was either tied or nailed to a wooden cross and left to hang until dead. Death would be slow and excruciatingly painful; in fact, the word excruciating literally means “out of crucifying.” However, because of Christ and His death on the cross, the meaning of the cross today is completely different. In Christianity, the cross is the intersection of God’s love and His justice. Jesus Christ is the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world (John 1:29). The reference to Jesus as the Lamb of God points back to the instruction of the Jewish Passover in Exodus 12. The Israelites were commanded to sacrifice an unblemished lamb and smear the blood of that lamb on the doorpost of their homes. The blood would be the sign for the Angel of Death to “pass over” that house, leaving those covered by blood in safety. When Jesus came to John to be baptized, John recognized Him and cried, “Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!” (John 1:29), thereby identifying Him and God’s plan for Him to be sacrificed for sin.

And blessed be his glorious name for ever: and let the whole earth be filled with his glory; Amen, and Amen." Psalm 72:18,19
