Book Turning The World Right Side Up

Download or read book Turning The World Right Side Up written by Apostle Willie J. Aaron, JR. and published by Writers Republic LLC. This book was released on 2021-02-15 with total page 93 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In the book of Acts the apostles began to preach after Jesus’ ascension the gospel of the Kingdom. This is the same gospel Jesus preached and great miracles were written with this type of preaching. One could speculate and it is obvious we are not seeing the mighty works of Jesus or the apostles today because we have deviated from preaching the gospel of the Kingdom. Today, there are all types of preaching: the gospel of grace, the gospel of prosperity, the gospel of healing but no obvious power. Acts 17:6 says these men (the apostles) have turned this world upside down. Why, because they preached the gospel of the Kingdom. If we return to preaching and teaching the Kingdom message, we will turn this world right side up. The power will return, the anointing will return, the glory of God will return, and we will see mighty works of God happening in all nations. We will witness in this day the apostles and prophets’ band together, Jews and Gentiles band together, spiritual gifts in operation like never seen before. This is the day that the army of the Lord is seen marching forth shattering the spiritual walls of religion and apostasy. God is saying to those that have ears to hear, take another look into the spirit realm, take another look into the supernatural and great and mysterious things will be revealed.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What could the supernatural world of Stranger Things have in common with the Bible? The paranormal television series Stranger Things taps into the mysterious elements that have fueled spiritual questions for millennia. The otherworldly manifestations in Hawkins, Indiana offer compelling portrayals of important spiritual truths--and many of these truths are echoed in the supernatural worldview of the Bible. For Michael Heiser, Stranger Things is the perfect marriage of his interest in popular culture and the paranormal. In The Unseen Realm, he opened the eyes of thousands, helping readers understand the supernatural worldview of the Bible. Now he turns his attention to the worldwide television phenomenon, exploring how Stranger Things relates to Christian theology and the Christian life. In The World Turned Upside Down, Heiser draws on this supernatural worldview to help us think about the story of Jesus and discover glimpses of the gospel in the Upside Down. He argues that this celebrated series helps us understand the gospel in unique and overlooked ways. The spiritual questions and crises raised by Stranger Things are addressed the same way they are in the gospel, with mystery and transcendent power.

Book From the Other Side of the World

Download or read book From the Other Side of the World written by Elmira Bayrasli and published by PublicAffairs. This book was released on 2015-09-08 with total page 320 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Elmira Bayrasli’s worldview was turned upside down when a woman in Bosnia told her, “thanks for the help. But we need work and jobs, not foreign aid.” That prompted Bayrasli to embark on a worldwide quest to find how talented people have overcome insurmountable obstacles to build high-growth businesses that are driving wealth and building communities, regions and countries. Through seven remarkable stories, Elmira Bayrasli shows why the next Steve Jobs and the next Apple, Google or Facebook is as likely to come from Nigeria, Pakistan or Mexico as Silicon Valley. She discovers that what distinguishes techies in Silicon Valley from women selling bamboo stools in Bangladesh isn’t their sophistication but simply the conditions that are necessary to sustain and scale business ideas. In the absence of these obstacles, global entrepreneurship can flourish. Bayrasli paints compelling stories of extraordinary entrepreneurs creatively battling corruption, lack of infrastructure, capital shortages and underdeveloped supplier and customer networks. She offers solutions that can be utilized by entrepreneurs everywhere, and shows why micro-finance, social entrepreneurship, and foreign aid are not enough. Most importantly, she shows how the key to building successful entrepreneurial ecosystems is to provide the framework that enables start-ups to scale.

Book Turning Learning Right Side Up

Download or read book Turning Learning Right Side Up written by Russell L. Ackoff and published by Pearson Prentice Hall. This book was released on 2008-06-03 with total page 219 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In the age of the Internet, we educate people much as we did during the Industrial Revolution. We educate them for a world that no longer exists, instilling values antithetical to those of a free, 21st century democracy. Worst of all, too many schools extinguish the very creativity and joy they ought to nourish. In Turning Learning Right Side Up, legendary systems scientist Dr. Russell Ackoff and “in-the-trenches” education innovator Daniel Greenberg offer a radically new path forward. In the year’s most provocative conversation, they take on the very deepest questions about education: What should be its true purpose? Do classrooms make sense anymore? What should individuals contribute to their own education? Are yesterday’s distinctions between subjects--and between the arts and sciences--still meaningful? What would the ideal lifelong education look like--at K-12, in universities, in the workplace, and beyond? Ackoff and Greenberg each have experience making radical change work--successfully. Here, they combine deep idealism with a relentless focus on the real world--and arrive at solutions that are profoundly sensible and powerfully compelling. Why today’s educational system fails--and why superficial reforms won’t help The questions politicians won’t ask--and the answers they don’t want to hear How do people learn--and why do they choose to learn? Creating schools that reflect what we know about learning In a 21st century democracy, what values must we nurture? ...and why aren’t we nurturing them? How can tomorrow’s “ideal schools” be operated and funded? A plan that cuts through political gridlock and can actually work Beyond schools: building a society of passionate lifelong learners Learning from childhood to college to workplace through retirement Reinventing Learning for the Next Century: How We Can, and Why We Must An extraordinary conversation about the very deepest questions... Today, what is education for? Where should it take place? How? When? What is the ideal school? The ideal lifelong learning experience? Who should be in charge of education? And who pays for it all? Over the past 150 years, virtually everything has changed...except education. Schools were designed as factories, to train factory workers. The factories are gone, but the schools haven’t changed. It’s time for us to return to first principles...or formulate new first principles...and reimagine education from the ground up. In Turning Learning Right Side Up, two of this generation’s most provocative thinkers--and practical doers--have done just that. They draw on the latest scientific research, the most enduring human wisdom, and their unique lifelong personal experiences transforming institutions that resist change. And, along the way, they offer a powerful blueprint for a thriving society of passionate lifelong learners.

Book excerpt: The Fall of Paul Martin and the Rise of Stephen Harper’s New Conservatism. Shakespeare isn’t around to write it — so we have Paul Wells! Think of it. Two men on an opposite yet parallel trajectory. In the space of only three years, one man, a huge success as the Minister of Finance, goes from his new role as the leader of an all-powerful party with a huge majority all the way down to a retired also-ran. The other one reluctantly steps in to salvage a dying party, links it to another dying party, “unites the right,” becomes its leader, goes through trying times, and inside three years rises to become prime minister, against all odds. It’s an amazing drama, told here in three acts. First, Paul Wells takes us through all of the events (from Martin’s assassination of Chrétien onward) that led up to the election campaign of January 2006. The second act deals with the campaign itself, where the Harper armies conquered, with the assistance of an RCMP cavalry raid, and less-than-brilliant opposing campaigns: “We’re not allowed to make this stuff up.” Full of new, amazing inside details. The final part answers the What now? that so many Canadians are asking about Stephen Harper’s "new conservatism." Nobody can answer that question better than Paul Wells. Witty, irreverent, opinionated, personal, and very, very funny, this book launches Wells’s career as an author. From the Hardcover edition.
