Book Watch Me Play A Self guided Music Course for Children Easy to Play Sheet Music with Colors and Letters for Beginners Super Simple Songs for Keyboard or Piano

Download or read book Watch Me Play A Self guided Music Course for Children Easy to Play Sheet Music with Colors and Letters for Beginners Super Simple Songs for Keyboard or Piano written by and published by Helen Winter. This book was released on with total page 63 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is tailored for absolute beginners in music, whether they are kids or adults. We have deliberately kept the content simple, employing an "easy-to-play" visual guide that allows any novice to start making music quickly. No prior musical knowledge or background is required, making it accessible for both children and their parents. Each song is accompanied by a large and straightforward visual aid, color and letter-coded, alongside traditional sheet music. The instructions are structured to guide children from basic circles to reading notes using sheet music, making the learning process akin to a game where children progress through different levels on their own. The book comprises 22 songs and offers three options to help beginners start playing immediately: Playing by Color Circle Playing by Letter Playing with the Musical Staff Initially, players can follow the circles and then transition to interpreting classic note symbols and staff. Helpful letters are always provided above the notes for easy reference. The book is divided into three parts, corresponding to three levels of difficulty: Level 1: This section features songs played within one octave. Each song is presented twice: first with circles and then with classic music notes, aiding children in memorizing staff notes. For example: Mary Had a Little Lamb - Version 1 - Circles Mary Had a Little Lamb - Version 1 - Notes Level 2: Here, you will find songs presented in both circle and note formats, as well as more advanced versions with detailed musical notation. For example: Hot Cross Buns - Version 1 - Circles Hot Cross Buns - Version 1 - Notes Hot Cross Buns - Version 2 - Notes (This version introduces different key signatures and teaches transposition skills.) Generally, the sheet music versions of the songs are slightly more complex, incorporating musical notations like rests or beams. An illustrated explanation of these notations is provided at the end of the book. Level 3: This section features different combinations of notes for the same melody, presented in both circle and note formats. This enables beginners to understand how the same melody can be played in various keys. Primarily designed for newcomers to keyboard instruments such as the piano or synthesizer, this book offers 22 one-hand piano songs. It also serves as an excellent self-training guide for children and beginner adults looking to master percussion instruments like the kalimba, marimba, xylophone, glockenspiel, or even a color bell set. Table of contents Level 1 Mary Had a Little Lamb Ode to Joy The Wheels on the Bus Jolly Old Saint Nicholas Ten Little Fingers London Bridge Do You Know the Muffin Man? We wish You a Merry Christmas The First Noel Brahms Lullaby Row Row Your Boat Itsy Bitsy Spider Silent Night Oh Susannah Level 2 Hot Cross Buns Are You Sleeping? No previous knowledge is necessary. None at all. Every song has a large and simple, color and letter-coded visual, along with traditional sheet music. The instruction is designed so that children begin with simple circles and gradually advance to reading notes using sheet music. PLAYING BY COLOR CIRCLE PLAY BY LETTER PLAY WITH THE MUSICAL STAFF The player can first follow the circles and then repeat with the classic note symbols and staff. The helpful letters are always above the notes. There are 3 parts in this book. They are equal to 3 levels. Level 1. Songs that are played in one octave. All songs here appear twice: once written with circles and the next time with classic music notes. This will help kids remember the staff notes. For example: Mary Had a Little Lamb - Ver 1 - Circles Mary Had a Little Lamb - Ver 1 - Notes Level 2 In this part, you will find one version with both circles and notes, and a more advanced version of the song with notes and musical notation. For example: Hot Cross Buns - Ver 1 - CIRCLES Hot Cross Buns - Ver 1 - NOTES Hot Cross Buns - Ver 2 - NOTES (Here the player will play songs in a different key and learn to transpose.) Generally, the version of the song written with sheet music is a little bit more complex than a letter-coded version. Such versions already have music notation such as rests or beams, etc. You can find an illustrated explanation of the notation at the end of this book. Level 3 Here, the first two songs are versions of the same melody (different combinations of notes) written with circles and notes. This is important so that the beginner can see how the same melody can be played in different keys. First of all, this book is addressed to newcomers to any keyboard instrument (such as Piano or Synthesizer). We offer 22 one-hand piano songs. Also, it is a perfect self-training guide for children and beginner adults to mastering the challenges of percussion instruments such as kalimba, marimba, xylophone, glockenspiel, or even color bell set.

Book Tongue Drum Songbook for Beginner

Download or read book Tongue Drum Songbook for Beginner written by Helen Winter and published by Helen Winter. This book was released on with total page 42 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The steel tongue drum (aka tong drum, tank drum, gluck-o-phone, hapi drum, mandala or lotus drum) and the handpan (aka hank drum, UFO drum, zen drum) are percussion musical instruments designed to help you focus on your feelings, sensations, and body. You don't need classical music training or knowledge of music theory to play them. The main purpose is relaxation, meditation, and traveling through your inner world. No previous training or skills are necessary to enjoy these fascinating instruments. It is impossible to play them incorrectly. Anyone can play them: those who want to develop a good sense of rhythm and an ear for music, those who are seeking relaxation after a hard day at work, those who have always had an interest in learning how to play a musical instrument, and those who want to introduce something unusual into their lives and explore their inner selves. This book is aimed at those who want to add popular melodies to their experimentation. All songs in this book have been written without using the classic music score system, because it is for absolute beginners who cannot read sheet music. We use circles with numbers because most modern tongue drums have numbers engraved or painted on their keys. We do not show the note duration -- we just group the circles closer to each other to show the rhythms. You can experiment with duration on your own. Because most tongue drums include and are tuned to involve the notes of the main octave, all songs from this book are possible to play in one octave. This book includes very simple, popular children's and folk songs, but even well-known children's songs played on the drum will create an unusual magical sound. Attention: Songs have been transposed for a DIATONIC range. Some melodies might be changed and simplified. If you have flat keys on your instrument, please use the classic music score for the piano. Book Keyboard for Beginner Adults 55 Traditional African Songs Play by Letter

Download or read book Keyboard for Beginner Adults 55 Traditional African Songs Play by Letter written by Helen Winter and published by Helen Winter. This book was released on 2021-05-13 with total page 65 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The African songs here are written using European notation, and we should understand that songs cannot be written as authentically as the music is played in its original form. African music does not implement temporality or major or minor chords. Therefore, the sheet music for African songs here is like a rough draft of the original music. You won't be able to play an African song by the sheet music alone. This is true for jazz and the blues, and it is just as true for African folk music. African music always assumes improvisation, adding variations and syncopation. Its main task is not to be reproduced, but to get everyone involved, since music, by definition, is the expression of emotional states with the help of sounds of a certain frequency and rhythm. This book was written for keyboard, but remember that traditional African music never involved or included a piano or other keyboard instrument. An indication of the country of origin of the song is an approximation because many traditional cultures cross current national borders. The language in which the song is sung is more important, and it can be used in various countries. Most songs have been simplified for beginners and letter names have been added under the musical notes to make it possible for you to confidently begin playing. Since African music assumes improvisation and variation, we recommend using this sheet music only as a guide. The most important thing is to listen and repeat the recordings linked to the QR code. Book Every Good Boy Does Fine A Love Story in Music Lessons

Download or read book Every Good Boy Does Fine A Love Story in Music Lessons written by Jeremy Denk and published by Picador. This book was released on 2022-05-31 with total page 383 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A uniquely illuminating memoir of the making of a musician, in which renowned pianist Jeremy Denk explores what he learned from his teachers about classical music: its forms, its power, its meaning - and what it can teach us about ourselves. In this searching and funny memoir, based on his popular New Yorker article, renowned pianist Jeremy Denk traces an implausible journey. Life is difficult enough as a precocious, temperamental, and insufferable six-year-old piano prodigy in New Jersey. But then a family meltdown forces a move to New Mexico, far from classical music’s nerve centers, and he has to please a new taskmaster while navigating cacti, and the perils of junior high school. Escaping from New Mexico at last, he meets a bewildering cast of college music teachers, ranging from boring to profound, and experiences a series of humiliations and triumphs, to find his way as one of the world’s greatest living pianists, a MacArthur 'Genius,' and a frequent performer at Carnegie Hall. There are few writers working today who are willing to eloquently explore both the joys and miseries of artistic practice. Hours of daily repetition, mystifying early advice, pressure from parents and teachers who drove him on – an ongoing battle of talent against two enemies: boredom and insecurity. As we meet various teachers, with cruel and kind streaks, Denk composes a fraught love letter to the act of teaching. He brings you behind the scenes, to look at what motivates both student and teacher, locked in a complicated and psychologically perilous relationship. In Every Good Boy Does Fine, Denk explores how classical music is relevant to 'real life,' despite its distance in time. He dives into pieces and composers that have shaped him – Bach, Mozart, Schubert, and Brahms, among others – and gives unusual lessons on melody, harmony, and rhythm. Why and how do these fundamental elements have such a visceral effect on us? He tries to sum up many of the lessons he has received, to repay the debt of all his amazing teachers; to remind us that music is our creation, and that we need to keep asking questions about its purpose.
