Book Walsh Series and Transforms

Download or read book Walsh Series and Transforms written by B. Golubov and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 381 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: 'Et moi ..., si j'avait su comment en revenir, One service mathematics has rendered the je n'y se.rais point aile.' human race. It has put common sense back Jules Verne where it belongs, on!be topmost shelf next to the dusty canister labelled 'disc:arded non sense'. The series is divergent; therefore we may be able to do something with it. Eric T. Bell O. Heaviside Mathematics is a tool for thought. A highly necessary tool in a world where both feedback and non linearities abound. Similarly, all kinds of parts of mathematics serve as tools for other parts and for other sciences. Applying a simple rewriting rule to the quote on the right above one finds such statements as: 'One service topology has rendered mathematical physics .. .'; 'One service logic has rendered com puter science .. .'; 'One service category theory has rendered mathematics .. .'. All arguably true. And all statements obtainable this way form part of the raison d'etre of this series.

Book Walsh Series An Introduction to Dyadic Harmonic Analysis

Download or read book Walsh Series An Introduction to Dyadic Harmonic Analysis written by Ferenc Schipp and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 1990-10 with total page 580 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book provides a broadly based, theoretical monograph on the Walsh System, a system that is the simplest non-trivial model for harmonic analysis and shares many properties with the trigonometric system. It gives a thorough introduction to foundations of Walsh-Fourier analysis introducing the main techniques and fundamental problems in a way that makes the literature accessible. It also shows how the theory of Walsh-Fourier analysis relates to other aspects of harmonic analysis. The book will be of interest to postgraduate students in pure and applied mathematics, and those studying numerical analysis and computational mathematics.

Book Orthogonal Transforms for Digital Signal Processing

Download or read book Orthogonal Transforms for Digital Signal Processing written by N. Ahmed and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 274 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is intended for those wishing to acquire a working knowledge of orthogonal transforms in the area of digital signal processing. The authors hope that their introduction will enhance the opportunities for interdiscipli nary work in this field. The book consists of ten chapters. The first seven chapters are devoted to the study of the background, motivation and development of orthogonal transforms, the prerequisites for which are a basic knowledge of Fourier series transform (e.g., via a course in differential equations) and matrix al gebra. The last three chapters are relatively specialized in that they are di rected toward certain applications of orthogonal transforms in digital signal processing. As such, a knowlegde of discrete probability theory is an essential additional prerequisite. A basic knowledge of communication theory would be helpful, although not essential. Much of the material presented here has evolved from graduate level courses offered by the Departments of Electrical Engineering at Kansas State University and the University of Texas at Arlington, during the past five years. With advanced graduate students, all the material was covered in one semester. In the case of first year graduate students, the material in the first seven chapters was covered in one semester. This was followed by a prob lems project-oriented course directed toward specific applications, using the material in the last three chapters as a basis.

Book Cryptographic Boolean Functions and Applications

Download or read book Cryptographic Boolean Functions and Applications written by Thomas W. Cusick and published by Academic Press. This book was released on 2017-03-31 with total page 290 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Cryptographic Boolean Functions and Applications, Second Edition is designed to be a comprehensive reference for the use of Boolean functions in modern cryptography. While the vast majority of research on cryptographic Boolean functions has been achieved since the 1970s, when cryptography began to be widely used in everyday transactions, in particular banking, relevant material is scattered over hundreds of journal articles, conference proceedings, books, reports and notes, some of them only available online. This book follows the previous edition in sifting through this compendium and gathering the most significant information in one concise reference book. The work therefore encompasses over 600 citations, covering every aspect of the applications of cryptographic Boolean functions. Since 2008, the subject has seen a very large number of new results, and in response, the authors have prepared a new chapter on special functions. The new edition brings 100 completely new references and an expansion of 50 new pages, along with heavy revision throughout the text. - Presents a foundational approach, beginning with the basics of the necessary theory, then progressing to more complex content - Includes major concepts that are presented with complete proofs, with an emphasis on how they can be applied - Includes an extensive list of references, including 100 new to this edition that were chosen to highlight relevant topics - Contains a section on special functions and all-new numerical examples

Book Dyadic Walsh Analysis from 1924 Onwards Walsh Gibbs Butzer Dyadic Differentiation in Science Volume 2 Extensions and Generalizations

Download or read book Dyadic Walsh Analysis from 1924 Onwards Walsh Gibbs Butzer Dyadic Differentiation in Science Volume 2 Extensions and Generalizations written by Radomir Stankovic and published by Springer. This book was released on 2015-12-29 with total page 370 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The second volume of the two volumes book is dedicated to various extensions and generalizations of Dyadic (Walsh) analysis and related applications. Considered are dyadic derivatives on Vilenkin groups and various other Abelian and finite non-Abelian groups. Since some important results were developed in former Soviet Union and China, we provide overviews of former work in these countries. Further, we present translations of three papers that were initially published in Chinese. The presentation continues with chapters written by experts in the area presenting discussions of applications of these results in specific tasks in the area of signal processing and system theory. Efficient computing of related differential operators on contemporary hardware, including graphics processing units, is also considered, which makes the methods and techniques of dyadic analysis and generalizations computationally feasible. The volume 2 of the book ends with a chapter presenting open problems pointed out by several experts in the area.

Book Construction of Wavelets Through Walsh Functions

Download or read book Construction of Wavelets Through Walsh Functions written by Yu. A. Farkov and published by Springer. This book was released on 2019-04-29 with total page 381 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book focuses on the fusion of wavelets and Walsh analysis, which involves non-trigonometric function series (or Walsh–Fourier series). The primary objective of the book is to systematically present the basic properties of non-trigonometric orthonormal systems such as the Haar system, Haar–Vilenkin system, Walsh system, wavelet system and frame system, as well as updated results on the book’s main theme. Based on lectures that the authors presented at several international conferences, the notions and concepts introduced in this interdisciplinary book can be applied to any situation where wavelets and their variants are used. Most of the applications of wavelet analysis and Walsh analysis can be tried for newly constructed wavelets. Given its breadth of coverage, the book offers a valuable resource for theoreticians and those applying mathematics in diverse areas. It is especially intended for graduate students of mathematics and engineering and researchers interested in applied analysis.
