Download or read book Space Manifold Dynamics written by Ettore Perozzi and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2010-07-23 with total page 265 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book presents an overview of the outcomes resulting from applying the dynamical systems approach to space mission design, a topic referred to as "Space Manifold Dynamics" (SMD). It is a natural follow-on to the international workshop "Novel Spaceways for Scientific and Exploration Missions," which was held in October 2007 at the Telespazio Fucino Space Centre (Italy) under the auspices of the Space OPS Academy. The benefits and drawbacks of using the Lagrangian points and the associated trajectories for present and future space missions are discussed. The related methods and algorithms are also described in detail. Each topic is presented in articles that were written as far as possible to be self consistent; the use of introductory sections and of extended explanations is included in order to address the different communities potentially interested in SMD: space science, the aerospace industry, manned and unmanned exploration, celestial mechanics, and flight dynamics.

Download or read book Applied Graph Theory written by Wai-Kai Chen and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2014-11-28 with total page 559 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Applied Graph Theory: Graphs and Electrical Networks, Second Revised Edition provides a concise discussion of the fundamentals of graph and its application to the electrical network theory. The book emphasizes the mathematical precision of the concepts and principles involved. The text first covers the basic theory of graph, and then proceeds to tackling in the next three chapters the various applications of graph to electrical network theory. These chapters also discuss the foundations of electrical network theory; directed-graph solutions of linear algebraic equations; and topological analysis of linear systems. Next, the book covers trees and their generation. Chapter 6 deals with the realizability of directed graphs with prescribed degrees, while Chapter 7 talks about state equations of networks. The book will be of great use to researchers of network topology, linear systems, and circuitries.

Download or read book Partial Differential and Integral Equations written by Heinrich Begehr and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-12-01 with total page 367 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This volume of the Proceedings of the congress ISAAC '97 collects the con tributions of the four sections 1. Function theoretic and functional analytic methods for pde, 2. Applications of function theory of several complex variables to pde, 3. Integral equations and boundary value problems, 4. Partial differential equations. Most but not all of the authors have participated in the congress. Unfortunately some from Eastern Europe and Asia have not managed to come because of lack of financial support. Nevertheless their manuscripts of the proposed talks are included in this volume. The majority of the papers deal with complex methods. Among them boundary value problems in particular the Riemann-Hilbert, the Riemann (Hilbert) and related problems are treated. Boundary behaviour of vector-valued functions are studied too. The Riemann-Hilbert problem is solved for elliptic complex equations, for mixed complex equations, and for several complex variables. It is considered in a general topological setting for mappings into q;n and related to Toeplitz operators. Convolution operators are investigated for nilpotent Lie groups leading to some consequences for the null space of the tangential Cauchy Riemann operator. Some boundary value problems for overdetermined systems in balls of q;n are solved explicitly. A survey is given for the Gauss-Manin connection associated with deformations of curve singularities. Several papers deal with generalizations of analytic functions with various applications to mathematical physics. Singular integrals in quaternionic anal ysis are studied which are applied to the time-harmonic Maxwell equations.
Download or read book Intensional and Higher Order Modal Logic written by Daniel Gallin and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2016-06-03 with total page 159 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: North-Holland Mathematics Studies, 19: Intensional and Higher-Order Modal Logic: With Applications to Montague Semantics focuses on an approach to the problem of providing a precise account of natural language syntax and semantics, including the set-theoretic semantical methods, Boolean models, and two-sorted type theory. The book first offers information on intensional logic and alternative formulations of intensional logic. Topics include two-sorted type theory, normal forms, extensions and intensional logic, modal T-logic, persistence in intensional logic, generalized completeness of intensional logic, and natural language and intensional logic. The text then examines higher-order modal logic and algebraic semantics. Discussions focus on Cohen's independence results, topological models of MLp, modal independence results, Boolean models of MLp, relative strength of intensional logic and MLp, propositional operators, modal predicate logic, and propositions in MLp. The monograph is a valuable reference for mathematicians and researchers interested in intensional and higher-order modal logic.
