It has bothered me since I first believed. Who is Christ? That is, as Paul said, a massive mystery - and an ever-revealing one at that. This revelation of this portion of this book can change your life every day! In Jewish tradition, Christ (Messiah, Anointed One) was Who was and is to come. The Hebrew Word means Messiah or Mashiach. The Greek word Christ is christos, and is not actually a translation of the word, but a transliteration. The Greek word christos was changed into the English word Christ. The same is true of the Hebrew equivalent, Messiah (Mashiach). JESUS' LAST NAME WAS NOT CHRIST. The revealing of this Christ is a great mystery. CHRIST is the Hebrew word mesach, meaning "the anointed" one, or Messiah. Christ was not the last name of Jesus. Christ is the anointed of God - it is the application of His CHOOSENESS and anointing to bring forth His purpose on earth. Where was the Prince, Lawgiver, Judge, King, Prophet who would rule them? However, for centuries the Jews used the term moshiach ("anointed") to refer to their expected deliverer.[What we see what they believe is right, GOD IS ONE.Jesus Christ, the SON is what the Jews are waiting for... The ONENESS of the Manifestation of the Glory of God.In pre-existence, THE SON had unlimited reach (metron). As a Human Being, Jesus came to Israel to be their Savior, but His reach was far greater than any other human - and yet limited by His humanity.
