Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Nonprofit organizations are suffering from the continuing economic downturn. Donations are decreasing while demand for services is growing, forcing these organizations to be increasingly efficient and effective with their funds. This book introduces the reader to the basic concepts of project management. It provides approaches and templates to help nonprofit managers quickly implement practices to help them manage their limited resources, both financial and volunteer. The book also provides a tool to help the project team determine which practices are most appropriate. The book explores how social media and other technology tools can be used to assist in the management of time-sensitive projects and shows how project portfolio management can be a tool to assist in communications with boards of directors and other governing entities. The project portfolio is a tool that development office managers can easily implement and adopt to facilitate resource assignment. Finally, the book offers three case studies of nonprofit projects that went awry and shows how project management would have assisted.

Book Programmed Therapy FOR STUTTERING in Children and Adults

Download or read book Programmed Therapy FOR STUTTERING in Children and Adults written by Bruce P. Ryan and published by Charles C Thomas Publisher. This book was released on 2001-01-01 with total page 360 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The goal of this book is to call attention to a systematic scientific approach to studying and treating stuttering via the strategies of operant conditioning, learning theory, and single-subject research design. Another purpose is to present the data collected and/or published over the past 30 years in one place for evaluation and comparison. This new edition starts with a brief introductory chapter including the basic principles of operant analysis. Chapter 2 covers the mechanics of charting, counting, and computing stuttering and speaking rates. Chapter 3 describes evaluation with both new data and forms. Chapter 4 is on programming, and Chapter 5 highlights the two present major establishment programs, Delayed Auditory Feedback (DAF)-Prolongation and Gradual Increase in Length and Complexity of Utterance (GILCU). Chapter 6 discusses transfer and maintenance programs and follow-up, while Chapter 7 presents long-term individual client performances in several programs. Chapter 8 covers the preschool stuttering child, and Chapter 9 describes efforts at and results of dissemination through training. Chapter 10 is a summary of efficacy data published over recent years, and Chapter 11 provides conclusions, discussion of problems, and suggested directions for future clinical research. Because it uniquely combines behavior modification, remediation of a well-known but perplexing disorder, and the most up-to-date clinical research, this outstanding new edition will serve as a great resource to anyone involved in the treatment of speech disorders.

Book Keller Box Method and Its Application

Download or read book Keller Box Method and Its Application written by Kuppalapalle Vajravelu and published by Walter de Gruyter GmbH & Co KG. This book was released on 2014-08-19 with total page 433 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Most of the problems arising in science and engineering are nonlinear. They are inherently difficult to solve. Traditional analytical approximations are valid only for weakly nonlinear problems, and often break down for problems with strong nonlinearity. This book presents the current theoretical developments and applications of the Keller-box method to nonlinear problems. The first half of the book addresses basic concepts to understand the theoretical framework for the method. In the second half of the book, the authors give a number of examples of coupled nonlinear problems that have been solved by means of the Keller-box method. The particular area of focus is on fluid flow problems governed by nonlinear equation.

Book The Boundary Element Method Volume 1

Download or read book The Boundary Element Method Volume 1 written by L. C. Wrobel and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2002-04-22 with total page 480 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The boundary element method (BEM) is a modern numerical techniquewhich has enjoyed increasing popularity over the last two decades, and is now an established alternative to traditional computationalmethods of engineering analysis. The main advantage of the BEM isits unique ability to provide a complete solution in terms ofboundary values only, with substantial savings in modelling effort. This two-volume book set is designed to provide the readers with acomprehensive and up-to-date account of the boundary element methodand its application to solving engineering problems. Each volume isa self-contained book including a substantial amount of materialnot previously covered by other text books on the subject. Volume 1covers applications to heat transfer, acoustics, electrochemistryand fluid mechanics problems, while volume 2 concentrates on solidsand structures, describing applications to elasticity, plasticity, elastodynamics, fracture mechanics and contact analysis. The earlychapters are designed as a teaching text for final yearundergraduate courses. Both volumes reflect the experience of theauthors over a period of more than twenty years of boundary element research. This volume, Applications in Thermo-Fluids and Acoustics, provides acomprehensive presentation of the BEM from fundamentals to advancedengineering applications and encompasses: Steady and transient heat transfer Potential and viscous fluid flows Frequency and time-domain acoustics Corrosion and other electrochemical problems. A unique feature of this book is an in-depth presentation of BEMformulations in all the above fields, including detaileddiscussions of the basic theory, numerical algorithms and practicalengineering applications of the method. Written by an internationally recognised authority in the field, this is essential reading for postgraduates, researchers andpractitioners in civil, mechanical and chemical engineering andapplied mathematics.
