Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: While on earth as a man, the Lord Jesus declared that the religious leaders of that day were guilty of serious infractions, namely: - Transgressing a commandment of God by their tradition (Matthew 15:3, Mark 7:8) - Rejecting God's Word and making His commandment of none effect by clinging to their tradition (Matthew 15:6, Mark 7:9, Mark 7:13) - Worshiping Him in vain by teaching commandments of men as doctrines (Matthew 15:9, Mark 7:7) In the almost two thousand years since that time, numerous religious traditions have developed which are unscriptural and very dangerous to spiritual welfare. Several of these traditions are identified and examined in the light of what the Word of God actually says. It is absolutely essential to correctly understand and appropriate God's truth, because the Lord Jesus himself confirmed that mankind shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God (Deuteronomy 8:3, Matthew 4:4, Luke 4:4).

The clock is ticking towards a New Heaven and a New Earth (Revelation 21:1). God is re-aligning His people back to 'His Ways' and restoring His people back to Himself. Not the ways of religion or the traditions of men, but the 'Ways of God.' As we race towards the beginning of everything being made new, our understanding of what God is doing in these last days are imperative! We do not want to miss, after almost 2000 years, what God is doing in this season of time. This is the season of preparing His Bride and calling her into intimacy. Because of this, there is beginning a movement of real change in our Christianity, the real change we need! God is pulling back the veil for those who are searching for His Truth. I must warn you, this is a very controversial message. Let me assure you, you have not heard this teaching before! It goes against every tradition taught since the 2nd Century AD!

Book Truth Tradition Or Tare

Download or read book Truth Tradition Or Tare written by Hollisa Alewine and published by Beky Books. This book was released on 2016-11 with total page 124 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Readers of the New Testament can find its treatment of tradition confusing. Many of the customs in its pages are Jewish, and therefore foreign to non-Jewish believers. Yeshua (Jesus) sometimes corrected those observing religious customs, yet at other times he said they SHOULD have observed them. Paul appears to do the same in his letters, for twice he instructs non-Jewish believers to keep the Jewish customs he passed on to them. Is there some way to determine which customs are "good" and which are "bad"? The methods used by the prophets of the Older Testament (TANAKH) as well as the writers of the Newer Testament did leave readers guidelines to divide seeds of truth from tradition, and then to separate a tradition grown from truth from a "taredition" grown from a different seed. The most important consideration in the prophets', Yeshua's, and the apostles' instructions is the sincere heart that holds justice, mercy, and faithfulness as the weightier matters of any religious custom.

Book Truth Versus Tradition

  • Author : Dave Patterson
  • Publisher : Page Publishing Inc
  • Release : 2021-07-06
  • ISBN : 166242857X
  • Pages : 155 pages

Download or read book Truth Versus Tradition written by Dave Patterson and published by Page Publishing Inc. This book was released on 2021-07-06 with total page 155 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Jesus confronted the religious leaders of his time concerning their traditions taking priority over the truth. But he answered and said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition? (Matthew 15:3) And honor not his father or his mother he shall be free. Thus have ye made the commandment of God of none effect by your tradition. (Matthew 15:6) For laying aside the commandment of God ye hold the tradition of men as the washing of pots and cups and m any other such like thing ye do. (Mark 7:8) Just because it is “tradition” does not make it the truth. Some people will say about these chapters, “What difference does it make?” The difference is what is often traditionally taught does not make it the truth when it comes to the accuracy of the scripture. I would ask, “Why does it matter if I lie to you or tell you the truth?” Most people do not like being lied to. I challenge the reader to take a clear perspective of the written Word of God. Believe the truth. Do not hold on to things you have been previously taught to you, just because it is tradition. Truth Versus Tradition will take you to the scripture and document what the truth of God’s Word says and what has been wrongly taught by tradition.

Book Divine Truth or Human Tradition

Download or read book Divine Truth or Human Tradition written by Patrick Navas and published by Author House. This book was released on 2011-07-07 with total page 617 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In Divine Truth or Human Tradition? the author critically examines the viewpoints and Scripture expositions of prominent evangelical scholars and apologistsincluding Dr. James R. White (author of The Forgotten Trinity), Dr. John MacArthur (President of The Master?s Seminary), Wayne Grudem (author of the widely-read Systematic Theology), Robert Morey (author of The Trinity, Evidence and Issues), Robert L. Reymond (author of A New Systematic Theology of the Christian Faith), and others According to what has long been considered mainstream Christian orthodoxy, the doctrine of the Trinity (the idea that the one God of the Bible is a singular being made up of three coequal and coeternal persons?) is not only central to the Christian faith, but even necessary for one to accept in order to be counted as a true Christian and be saved. Such a demand on a Christian?s faith has come across as strange and perplexing to many, especially so in light of the fact pointed out by one respected Trinitarian: [The Trinity] is not clearly or explicitly taught anywhere in Scripture, yet it is widely regarded as a central doctrine, indispensable to the Christian faith. In this regard, it goes contrary to what is virtually an axiom [that is, a given, a self-evident truth] of biblical doctrine, namely, that there is a direct correlation between the scriptural clarity of a doctrine and its cruciality to the faith and life of the church. (Millard J. Erickson, God in Three Persons, p. 11. Emphasis added) Understandably, this fact has raised questions in the minds of Christians and truth-seekers alike ever since the doctrine was first articulated in the late 4th century. Many Christians have wondered: How can a doctrine that is not clearly or explicitly taught in the Bible be necessary to accept in order to be a true practitioner of the Christian faith?

Book Tradition as Truth and Communication

Download or read book Tradition as Truth and Communication written by Pascal Boyer and published by Cambridge University Press. This book was released on 1990-03-30 with total page 154 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Tradition is a central concept in the social sciences, but it is commonly treated as unproblematic. Dr. Boyer insists that social anthropology requires a theory of tradition, its constitution and transmission. He treats tradition "as a type of interaction which results in the repetition of certain communicative events," and therefore as a form of social action. Tradition as Truth and Communication deals particularly with oral communication and focuses on the privileged role of licensed speakers and the ritual contexts in which certain aspects of tradition are characteristically transmitted. Drawing on cognitive psychology, Dr. Boyer proposes a set of general hypotheses to be tested by ethnographic field research. He has opened up an important new field for investigation within social anthropology.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "AMERICAN CHRISTIANITY: Truth or Tradition? A Personal Perspective, is a "spin-off" from Dr. Glenn's previous successful book of motivation, The Triangle Plan: A Guide to A Successful Life Derived from Personal Experience. Within the Triangle Plan lies Dr. Glenn's philosophical strategy of success, a triangle of principles that includes God, family, and education. Glenn explains how morals, values, ethics, and the Christian faith all form part of the triangle to encompass three disciplines: home, school, and God. Glenn stresses that comprehending the three types of love: Phileo (Brotherly), Eros (Sensual), and Agape (Unconditional Love of God), is also an important aspect of life that should be understood and emphasized. In his recent book, AMERICAN CHRISTIANITY: Truth or Tradition? A Personal Perspective, Glenn emphasizes the God section of his last book (The Triangle Plan) and adds to it by exploring the five major religions of the world (Judaism, Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, and Hinduism), comparing and contrasting them to the Christian religion in terms of such aspects as reason and history."--Amazon.com.

Book Tradition Versus Truth Which Will You Choose

Download or read book Tradition Versus Truth Which Will You Choose written by Robert H. Brown, III and published by E-Booktime Llc. This book was released on 2008 with total page 92 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: I'm going to make a bold statement, but I'll make it because it's true: Only those who love the truth will be in heaven! How do I know this is true? Because if you love Jesus, you must love the truth for He is Truth (John 14: 6)! But many, even professed Christians, seem to care little about the truth nowadays. The only thing that seems to matter to them is that this is the way it's been done in the past or this was accepted or believed in the past; so they shun what the Bible says for the sake of tradition and pleasing others. John 12: 43 states that men love the praise of other men more than they love the praise of God. Sad but true! It's appalling to me that many who profess to be Christians seem not to care what God's Word says.

Download or read book Truth Or Tradition written by Lew White and published by Createspace Independent Publishing Platform. This book was released on 2017-07-05 with total page 110 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Truth is the mortal enemy of tradition. Truth is reality, but tradition is religion. Therefore, Truth is a threat to religion. Yahuah's Scripture of Truth is the ultimate way to test everything we believe. If Scripture doesn't teach it, then it originates from men's imaginations, and should not be taught. No one can find the teaching in Scripture of a Sunday Shabath, sacraments, eating unclean animals, indulgences, celibacy, holy water, statue veneration, an annual observance of Yahusha's birth, or the word Easter. Most everything that is taught is ignored, including the Covenant, or Ten Commandments that define sin and teach us how to love. Everything that is encouraged is tradition. Truth is logical and legal (lawful), and unchanging. Tradition is programming to perform what is unlawful. This book is written to awaken those who are sleeping, misled by pastors who have been unwilling to speak Truth. It will equip you to challenge Christian pastors to be restored to Truth. If a person asks their pastor, "Do you teach Truth?", they will respond in the affirmative. And yet, if the next question is "Do you believe December 25th was the night the Mashiak was born?", they will begin to show their "cracked cisterns". Cracked cisterns don't hold water. When traditions are exposed to be make-believe and powerless to help us, fear leads to anger, and anger leads to the awakening. To wake up from a bad dream, we sometimes have to experience great fear. Paganism from the Sumerian culture (Babel) became imprinted on all humanity and scattered around the whole world. The confusion of languages was so powerful and effective, it remains to this day. The imprinted paganism from Babel is present also. Traditions are basically habits, and they behave much like an infection. They cling to the basic building-block of civilization: the family unit, and pass from parents into the children. This book will discuss how pagan traditions transformed into seemingly innocent habits, yet the "DNA" of the underlying paganism is still there. Prepare for the coming of Yahusha. If they do not repent of tradition, they will perish.

Download or read book Tradition and Apocalypse written by David Bentley Hart and published by Baker Academic. This book was released on 2022-02-08 with total page 195 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In the two thousand years that have elapsed since the time of Christ, Christians have been as much divided by their faith as united, as much at odds as in communion. And the contents of Christian confession have developed with astonishing energy. How can believers claim a faith that has been passed down through the ages while recognizing the real historical contingencies that have shaped both their doctrines and their divisions? In this carefully argued essay, David Bentley Hart critiques the concept of "tradition" that has become dominant in Christian thought as fundamentally incoherent. He puts forth a convincing new explanation of Christian tradition, one that is obedient to the nature of Christianity not only as a "revealed" creed embodied in historical events but as the "apocalyptic" revelation of a history that is largely identical with the eternal truth it supposedly discloses. Hart shows that Christian tradition is sustained not simply by its preservation of the past, but more essentially by its anticipation of the future. He offers a compelling portrayal of a living tradition held together by apocalyptic expectation--the promised transformation of all things in God.

Book Tradition Opinion and Truth

Download or read book Tradition Opinion and Truth written by Fred Peatross and published by iUniverse. This book was released on 2000-09-11 with total page 142 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: There was a time when the church of Christ was the fastest growing Christian group in America. Their goal was the unity of all believers through Jesus Christ. Their membership was known as a “people of the Book.” But through the years the churches of Christ gradually left their noble plea of unity for an exclusive religion. No longer does the outsider recognize the restoration churches as a unity movement. Today they’re known more as the group who thinks they’re the only ones going to Heaven. No longer does one think “people of the Book,” when someone mentions the church of Christ. Unfortunately, the membership has stopped reading and thinking. They’ve learned that it’s dangerous to think independent of the party line. When you do, you risk rejection and excommunication. Here’s a book that will challenge, encourage, and stimulate your thinking. It's candid, confessional, and gently confrontational. Fred Peatross has some words about traditions, opinions, and scripture. So grab your glasses and a highlighter and sit back in your Lazy-Boy for the next two hours as you take a journey through the traditions and truths of the Lord’s Supper, a cappella music, evangelism, giving, baptism, and many more.
