Book excerpt: This study aimed to investigate the relationship between human resource management (HRM) practices, total quality management (TQM) practices and competitive advantages in Telecommunication organizations in Jordan. A self-administrated questionnaire was designed and distributed over a sample of telecommunication employees of 400 employees. The percentage of filled questionnaires is 80% (320 questionnaires). The research hypotheses were tested by using multiple regressions. The study concluded that there is a relationship between human resource management practices and total quality management practices. It was also concluded that there is a relationship between total quality management practices and competitive advantage. Finally, there is a relationship between human resource management practices and competitive advantage. A number of recommendations emerged in light of the findings, is that the telecommunication organization are advised to focus more on the human resource management activities and total quality management activities that improve the utilization of competitive advantages.

The study additionally aims to examine the influence of human resource management practices on the implementation of overall quality management and the outcome of human resource management practices and the installation of total quality management for employee satisfaction. Total 800 questionnaires were distributed among the respondents out of that 776 responses received from the respondents. Responses were gathered using a standardized questionnaire, which was analyzed using SPSS version 20. T-test, Analysis of Variance, Descriptive analysis, and Regression analysis statistical tools were also used to achieve the desired objectives. Human resource management and overall quality management plays a significant role in every organization. Similarly, researcher found prominent HRM practices that is recruitment, awareness of personnel policies, recruitment, fair and performance based pay and over all feedback, these will provide a good work culture and climate in the organization. Researcher also identified TQM parameters that are strategic planning, recognition, leadership, quality improvement, resource management, communication, and these parameters will help to build a quality organization. From the analysis researcher found the impact of HRM on TQM that most of the cases HRM variables HR planning, Training & development and compensation are have a significant association (p0.05) with the TQM. Furthermore impact of HRM and TQM on employee satisfaction shows that overall compensation, employee motivation, leadership, quality improvement and communication are positively associated (p0.05) with the Employee satisfaction. It means employees are willing to show their participation in the positive manner and they understood that these variables are highly required in their work environment for the overall development of individuals and the organization. From the overall research it is noted that HRM practices, TQM and employee satisfaction have a dynamic role in each organization. Through HRM practices and TQM, employees can understand their role and responsibility in the organization and function efficiently and effectively as an individual as well as team for achieving vision, mission and objectives of the organization. Many organization do not give more prominence on HRM practices and TQM, these are one of the significant tools for empowering the employees to think alike & function efficiently and effectively for the succeeding of individual, team, organization and community.
