Download or read book Towards a Theology of Relationship written by Michael Berra and published by James Clarke & Company. This book was released on 2024-01-25 with total page 271 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: With the theme of relationship receiving renewed attention in a variety of areas, theological expressions of the subject are also being brought back into the spotlight. Although the concept of a personal relationship with God is a common Christian expression, it is often poorly defined. Here, Michael Berra draws on the Swiss theologian Emil Brunner to redefine and rehabilitate the analogy of relationship. Basing his study primarily on Brunner's seminal work Truth as Encounter, Berra proposes that relationship ought to be the central motif for the whole of theology. He investigates the theme in light of modern relationship science, arguing that God-human interaction categorically meets the definition of a relationship, and that it is existentially intended to be intimate. Scholars and church leaders will find in Berra's approach a refreshing voice in this dynamic field.

Different users of a database may have different views of the database, but the enterprise should have a unique and consistent view of the database. This is particularly important in designing a logically meaningful and consistent database. The concept of the enterprise View of data is very useful in the database design process and in. Book excerpt: A “must-read” (The Washington Post) funny and practical guide to help you find, build, and keep the relationship of your dreams. Have you ever looked around and wondered, “Why has everyone found love except me?” You’re not the only one. Great relationships don’t just appear in our lives—they’re the culmination of a series of decisions, including whom to date, how to end it with the wrong person, and when to commit to the right one. But our brains often get in the way. We make poor decisions, which thwart us on our quest to find lasting love. Drawing from years of research, behavioral scientist turned dating coach Logan Ury reveals the hidden forces that cause those mistakes. But awareness on its own doesn’t lead to results. You have to actually change your behavior. Ury shows you how. This “simple-to-use guide” (Lori Gottlieb, New York Times bestselling author of Maybe You Should Talk to Someone) focuses on a different decision in each chapter, incorporating insights from behavioral science, original research, and real-life stories. You’ll learn: -What’s holding you back in dating (and how to break the pattern) -What really matters in a long-term partner (and what really doesn’t) -How to overcome the perils of online dating (and make the apps work for you) -How to meet more people in real life (while doing activities you love) -How to make dates fun again (so they stop feeling like job interviews) -Why “the spark” is a myth (but you’ll find love anyway) This “data-driven” (Time), step-by-step guide to relationships, complete with hands-on exercises, is designed to transform your life. Unlike other studies on Turkey-U.S. relations, report not only focuses on the historical background of the bilateral relations but also the economic and social dimensions of the relations as well as the parameters, which determine the approaches of the two states towards regional issues, are the focal points of this report. The report is divided into three parts. In the first part, the general foreign policy tendencies of key actors in U.S. domestic policy and their perspectives concerning Turkey are scrutinized. Brief information about the role of these actors in the U.S. foreign policy is provided. Then, the foreign policy approaches of the American people and Congress are examined. The first part wrap up with an exposition of Obama’s foreign policy team and their tendencies. The second part of the report begins by explaining the regional approaches in Turkey-U.S. relations on a theoretical level, followed by the economic dimension of the bilateral relations and the risks posed by excluding Turkey from Transatlantic Trade and ınvestment Partnership of U.S. and EU. The nature and purpose of recent Turkey-U.S. diplomacy is discussed. The lack of social trust is addressed. The second part ends by exploring the potential for cooperation found in elite relations and Turkish lobbies in Washington. The report’s conclusion has some suggestions for Turkish foreign policy. Based on the findings from the first two sections, the conclusion provides suggestions for Turkey on the steps that it needs to take in its foreign policy in general and particularly in its relations with the U.S.

These compact editions will be invaluable to all who wish to learn the basics of major theories derived from the work of Freud and Jung, from an integrated viewpoint. The authors are Jungian analysts trained at the SAP, highly experienced in both theory and practice. The author argues for the profound importance of trusting the unconscious psyche in therapeutic work with adults. She considers various analytical meanings of the term "the self", with reference to a wide range of theorists, and various ways of thinking about the development of the ego. She uses primarily a Jungian model of the psyche from a developmental perspective, based on the assumption that the ego evolves in infancy and childhood out of a primary psychosomatic self.

Download or read book China Malaysia Relations and Foreign Policy written by Razak Abdullah and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2015-08-11 with total page 332 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: When Malaysian Prime Minister, Tun Abdul Razak Hussein, paid an official visit to China in May 1974, it secured Malaysia a place in the annals of regional diplomatic history as the first ASEAN country to establish full diplomatic relations with the People’s Republic of China. This book analyses the process of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Malaysia and China, and provides a detailed explanation and understanding of the decision- making process in Malaysia. Shedding light on the roles played by the various principal actors in the process of foreign policy formulation and the influences - both internal and external – that shaped Malaysia’s behaviour, the book highlights why Malaysia decided to pursue a policy of normalisation with China, culminating in the visit in 1974, and in particular why it became the first ASEAN country to establish diplomatic relations with the Chinese. After Malaysia’s recognition of Beijing, two other ASEAN states followed suit, namely Thailand and the Philippines, and the book discusses whether there was some degree of policy coordination amongst ASEAN countries in dealing with China, or if both these countries gave way for Malaysia to be the first. The book also looks at the policy debates within some ASEAN countries regarding relations with China, either conducted officially or unofficially, bilaterally or otherwise. This book will be of interest to scholars of Asian Politics, Asian History, International Relations and Foreign Policy.
Download or read book Towards a Competence Based View on Models and Modeling in Science Education written by Annette Upmeier zu Belzen and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2020-01-01 with total page 317 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The book takes a closer look at the theoretical and empirical basis for a competence-based view of models and modeling in science learning and science education research. Current thinking about models and modeling is reflected. The focus lies on the development of modeling competence in science education, and on philosophical aspects, including perspectives on nature of science. The book explores, interprets, and discusses models and modeling from the perspective of different theoretical frameworks and empirical results. The extent to which these frameworks can be integrated into a competence-based approach for science education is discussed. In addition, the book provides practical guidance by outlining evidence-based approaches to diagnosing and promoting modeling competence. The aim is to convey a strong understanding of models and modeling for professions such as teacher educators, science education researchers, teachers, and scientists. Different methods for the diagnosis and assessment of modeling competence are presented and discussed with regard to their potential and limitations. The book provides evidence-based ideas about how teachers can be supported in teaching with models and modeling implementing a competence-based approach and, thus, how students can develop their modeling competence. Based on the findings, research challenges for the future are identified.
