Book Meritaton The Unknown Queen of Akhet Aton and Ankhesenamun The Queen Consort of Tutankhamun

Download or read book Meritaton The Unknown Queen of Akhet Aton and Ankhesenamun The Queen Consort of Tutankhamun written by Marie Elisabeth Habicht and published by BoD – Books on Demand. This book was released on 2022-12-28 with total page 107 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Meritaton The title of the book refers to Meritaton as the unknown Queen of Akhet-Aton. Indeed, she is difficult to define, one of her trademarks in iconographic art is the bald head and often she does not wear any cloths. The book tries to collect important information and images of the Queen that might have played a pivotal role in the transition of the falling Amarna period back to the conventional state concept under King Tutankhamun. Ankhesenamun The book deals with the life and death of Ankhesenamun, the queen consort at Tutankhamun's side, which can be reconstructed from historical sources. The question of whether she was the mysterious Dahamunzu, who wrote a strange letter to the hostile king of the Hittites, is discussed in detail. On the basis of the images that can be attributed to her, an attempt is also made to define the appearance of Ankhesenamun and to suggest possible mummies, which are discussed in the research (KV 21A or CG 61076). It is possible, however, that the burial of Ankhesenamun has not yet been found, for there are no traces that would indicate a looted tomb.

Book The Queen of England and the Unknown Schoolboy Part 1

Download or read book The Queen of England and the Unknown Schoolboy Part 1 written by Bob Crew and published by Andrews UK Limited. This book was released on 2022-12-22 with total page 114 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This year (2022) has seen the sad death of the late Queen of England and this Christmas will be the first Christmas without her and her globally famous Queen's Speech at Christmas. This very timely book is a true story and work of faction that is written retrospectively, remembering the Queen of England and what she meant to a great many of her fans and also school children in the UK when she first came to her throne in 1952. England and its new Queen were on a very different planet, as they were likewise in 1953 when she became the first British monarch to let the television cameras into her life and become Britain's Television Queen thereby on a second parallel planet. These were 1950s planets that have now disappeared, or are fast disappearing, into the mists of time, as has the unforgettable Queen Elizabeth II. The story told in these pages is a very surprising, interesting and historically significant factional narrative. It's not only for the fans of the late Queen who is still fresh in their minds and with a place in their hearts during this first Christmas without her, but also for history buffs, students and lecturers of history and/or literature, lay-readers and bookworms and perhaps even republicans who monitor these affairs. The narrative is for all who like to touch social and royal history and get the feel of its handshake, written by one of the few authors remaining today who saw the Queen of England in at her televised coronation in 1953. He has now seen her out again this year in his twilight years at her massively televised lying in state and state funeral. It's a most extraordinary tale of social history and also of an unknown family's history and education, revealing how Queen Elizabeth related to and influenced her people when she first came to her throne. There were very different values and attitudes of mind and characters back then, when her fans were very different people indeed. Bob Crew is an author of several factual books who is also a former correspondent of The Times and Financial Times newspapers in London, as well as a graduate of the University of London, of which today's patron is Princess Anne. There really are few books of fact or fiction like this one, the story of which is chiefly about an unknown schoolboy and his family during the new reign of Queen Elizabeth II, as she and the 1950s history in question here cast its shadow over them all.

Book Name Unknown The Life of a Rusian Queen

Download or read book Name Unknown The Life of a Rusian Queen written by Christian Raffensperger and published by Taylor & Francis. This book was released on 2024-06-03 with total page 201 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Name Unknown: The Life of a Rusian Queen offers an example of an eastern European queen as a corrective to the western European focus of medieval queenship studies. Through a chronological approach, this book looks beyond the popular biographies of royal women such as Eleanor of Aquitaine and Berengaria of Castile and gathers material from sources throughout Europe. It engages with modern queenship studies literature to create a collective biography of a Rusian queen through the various cycles of her life from the marriage of eight-year-old Verkhuslava to the death of the ruler of Minsk whose generosity is recorded, but not her name. For medievalists interested in women and queens, Name Unknown: The Life of a Rusian Queen provides an entry point to an area of Europe rarely studied in that literature. For Slavists, it presents a way of looking at medieval Rusian women that has not yet appeared in this scholarly tradition. Ultimately, this biography integrates Rus, and eastern Europe, into the medieval world and acts as an important reminder that women are essential to our history and thus to our overall understanding of the past. This book is of great use to students and scholars interested in the history of women, queenship, and medieval Europe.

Nineteen-year-old Kate Brady joined the army to bring honor to her family and to the Middle East. Instead, she finds herself in a forgotten corner of the Iraq desert in 2003, guarding a makeshift American prison. There, Kate meets Naema Jassim, an Iraqi medical student whose father and little brother have been detained in the camp. Kate and Naema promise to help each other, but the war soon strains their intentions. Like any soldier, Kate must face the daily threats of combat duty, but as a woman, she is in equal danger from the predatory men in her unit. Naema suffers bombs, starvation, and the loss of her home and family. As the two women struggle to survive and hold on to the people they love, each comes to have a drastic and unforeseeable effect on the other’s life. From the author of Wolf Season and The Lonely Soldier, and informed by numerous interviews with those who were there, Sand Queen is a “heartbreaking, vivid story of the particular difficulties of being not just a soldier, but a female soldier” (Bustle).

Book The Unknown Nation

Download or read book The Unknown Nation written by James Curran and published by Melbourne Univ. Publishing. This book was released on 2010 with total page 338 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Unknown Nation is an illuminating history of Australia's putative 'search' for national identity. James Curran and Stuart Ward document how the receding ties of empire and Britishness posed an unprecedented dilemma as Australians lost their traditional ways of defining themselves as a people. With the sudden disappearance in the 1960s and 1970s of the familiar coordinates of the British world, Australians were cast into the realm of the unknown. The task of remodelling the national image touched every aspect of Australian life where identifiably British ideas, habits and symbols--from foreign relations to the national anthem--had grown obsolete. But how to celebrate Australia's past achievements and present aspirations became a source of public controversy as community leaders struggled to find the appropriate language and rhetoric to invoke a new era.

So, I set out to do a follow up book that more or less expounded on subjects like Joseph Smith and the Mormons, the Poro & Keetowah societies, and the Delawares & Nanticokes. This particular book also has a chapter on ancient & modern round ball sports, after reading it, one, might better explain the overall craze of round ball sports in America. One of the most fascinating aspects of Moorish Science Temple history is the (Pan American Conference 1928) And the so called Moor circle (7). I conclude this book with Addendums dealing with these very intriguing subjects along with the national headress the (Fez). My mother is part Nanticoke and Fulani, my father Cherokee & Mende.
