Relativity and quantum mechanics are the first two imponderables. Examples of particularly non-intuitive aspects of these imponderables are provided. The basis for human intuition and human beliefs are discussed, as are reasons for reluctance to change these beliefs. Unique and surprising properties of infinite systems are covered, as are consequences that follow from these properties. The book relies relatively little on mathematics, and two mathematical topics are relegated to appendices. The book is not recommended for people who are satisfied with the answers their religion provides to them regarding the nature of the Universe.
