Book Robust Static Super Replication of Barrier Options

Download or read book Robust Static Super Replication of Barrier Options written by Jan H. Maruhn and published by Walter de Gruyter. This book was released on 2009-07-14 with total page 210 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Static hedge portfolios for barrier options are very sensitive with respect to changes of the volatility surface. To prevent potentially significant hedging losses this book develops a static super-replication strategy with market-typical robustness against volatility, skew and liquidity risk as well as model errors. Empirical results and various numerical examples confirm that the static superhedge successfully eliminates the risk of a changing volatility surface. Combined with associated sub-replication strategies this leads to robust price bounds for barrier options which are also relevant in the context of dynamic hedging. The mathematical techniques used to prove appropriate existence, duality and convergence results range from financial mathematics, stochastic and semi-infinite optimization, convex analysis and partial differential equations to semidefinite programming.

Book Handbook Of Financial Econometrics Mathematics Statistics And Machine Learning In 4 Volumes

Download or read book Handbook Of Financial Econometrics Mathematics Statistics And Machine Learning In 4 Volumes written by Cheng Few Lee and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 2020-07-30 with total page 5053 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This four-volume handbook covers important concepts and tools used in the fields of financial econometrics, mathematics, statistics, and machine learning. Econometric methods have been applied in asset pricing, corporate finance, international finance, options and futures, risk management, and in stress testing for financial institutions. This handbook discusses a variety of econometric methods, including single equation multiple regression, simultaneous equation regression, and panel data analysis, among others. It also covers statistical distributions, such as the binomial and log normal distributions, in light of their applications to portfolio theory and asset management in addition to their use in research regarding options and futures contracts. In both theory and methodology, we need to rely upon mathematics, which includes linear algebra, geometry, differential equations, Stochastic differential equation (Ito calculus), optimization, constrained optimization, and others. These forms of mathematics have been used to derive capital market line, security market line (capital asset pricing model), option pricing model, portfolio analysis, and others. In recent times, an increased importance has been given to computer technology in financial research. Different computer languages and programming techniques are important tools for empirical research in finance. Hence, simulation, machine learning, big data, and financial payments are explored in this handbook.Led by Distinguished Professor Cheng Few Lee from Rutgers University, this multi-volume work integrates theoretical, methodological, and practical issues based on his years of academic and industry experience.

Book Vinzenz Bronzin s Option Pricing Models

Download or read book Vinzenz Bronzin s Option Pricing Models written by Wolfgang Hafner and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2009-11-18 with total page 553 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In 1908, Vinzenz Bronzin, a professor of mathematics at the Accademia di Commercio e Nautica in Trieste, published a booklet in German entitled Theorie der Prämiengeschäfte (Theory of Premium Contracts) which is an old type of option contract. Almost like Bachelier’s now famous dissertation (1900), the work seems to have been forgotten shortly after it was published. However, almost every element of modern option pricing can be found in Bronzin’s book. He derives option prices for an illustrative set of distributions, including the Normal. - This volume includes a reprint of the original German text, a translation, as well as an appreciation of Bronzin's work from various perspectives (economics, history of finance, sociology, economic history) including some details about the professional life and circumstances of the author. The book brings Bronzin's early work to light again and adds an almost forgotten piece of research to the theory of option pricing.

Book Financial Derivatives Pricing Selected Works Of Robert Jarrow

Download or read book Financial Derivatives Pricing Selected Works Of Robert Jarrow written by Robert A Jarrow and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 2008-10-08 with total page 609 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is a collection of original papers by Robert Jarrow that contributed to significant advances in financial economics. Divided into three parts, Part I concerns option pricing theory and its foundations. The papers here deal with the famous Black-Scholes-Merton model, characterizations of the American put option, and the first applications of arbitrage pricing theory to market manipulation and liquidity risk.Part II relates to pricing derivatives under stochastic interest rates. Included is the paper introducing the famous Heath-Jarrow-Morton (HJM) model, together with papers on topics like the characterization of the difference between forward and futures prices, the forward price martingale measure, and applications of the HJM model to foreign currencies and commodities.Part III deals with the pricing of financial derivatives considering both stochastic interest rates and the likelihood of default. Papers cover the reduced form credit risk model, in particular the original Jarrow and Turnbull model, the Markov model for credit rating transitions, counterparty risk, and diversifiable default risk.

Book PDE and Martingale Methods in Option Pricing

This book was released on 2011-04-15 with total page 727 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book offers an introduction to the mathematical, probabilistic and numerical methods used in the modern theory of option pricing. The text is designed for readers with a basic mathematical background. The first part contains a presentation of the arbitrage theory in discrete time. In the second part, the theories of stochastic calculus and parabolic PDEs are developed in detail and the classical arbitrage theory is analyzed in a Markovian setting by means of of PDEs techniques. After the martingale representation theorems and the Girsanov theory have been presented, arbitrage pricing is revisited in the martingale theory optics. General tools from PDE and martingale theories are also used in the analysis of volatility modeling. The book also contains an Introduction to Lévy processes and Malliavin calculus. The last part is devoted to the description of the numerical methods used in option pricing: Monte Carlo, binomial trees, finite differences and Fourier transform.
