Book THE PROPHETIC PARABLES OF MATTHEW 13

Download or read book THE PROPHETIC PARABLES OF MATTHEW 13 written by A.W Pink and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2015-11-29 with total page 112 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: We purpose giving a series of studies on the thirteenth chapter of Matthew, which, in the writer's judgment, is, from the standpoint of prophecy, the most important chapter of all the New Testament. There is much in God's prophetic program which must necessarily remain dark until the parables of this chapter are thoroughly mastered. At present they are much misunderstood and misinterpreted. It will be found that in Matthew 13:10, 11 the Lord Jesus has designated these seven parables ""mysteries of the kingdom of heaven."" This expression ""the kingdom of heaven"" comprehends in a brief form the contents of the whole chapter. This will be seen by a reference to verses 24, 31, 33, etc., where it will be found that each of the last six parables begin with ""the kingdom of heaven is like unto."" What is meant by this expression? There is perhaps no term in Scripture used so extensively, but which is so little understood. Though it is found in Matthew's Gospel only, yet it occurs there no less than thirty-two times.

Book The Prophetic Parables of Matthew 13 New Testament Prophecy in the Teachings of Jesus Christ Hardcover

Download or read book The Prophetic Parables of Matthew 13 New Testament Prophecy in the Teachings of Jesus Christ Hardcover written by A. W. Pink and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2018-08-24 with total page 64 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This superb Bible commentary by Christian teacher A. W. Pink narrates the thirteenth chapter of the Gospel of Matthew, identifying and discussing the prophecy within these words. An engaging and thorough examination of its New Testament subject, A. W. Pink deftly navigates the parables and presents a convincing narrative. Supporting his viewpoint with quotations from other Biblical books, a picture forms of Matthew 13 as a text of immense meaning and spiritual significance for believers in Christ's gospel and the ultimate destiny of all Christians. The author's interpretation of the scripture is thought-provoking and refreshingly coherent throughout. Noted for his unique personality and gifts as a Biblical scholar, Arthur W. Pink composed numerous Bible analyses and other Christian texts. He spent most of his lifetime as an obscure teacher, who energetically wrote on subjects of faith. Following his death in 1952, a wellspring of interest and appreciation brought Pink posthumous prominence.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A comprehensive study of Jesus's parables that emphasizes personal reflection and application Jesus's parables used familiar situations to convey deep spiritual truths in ways that are provocative and subversive of the status quo. Prayerfulness was pictured by a persistent widow. The joy of salvation in the homecoming of a lost son. Love of neighbor by a marginalized Samaritan. If we're not careful, we can easily miss details in the parables that reveal their subtle meanings as well as their contemporary relevance. Drawing on scholarship on the parables as well as theological, pastoral, and practical insights, Douglas Webster guides the reader through each of Jesus's parables, pointing out the important nuances that allow us to understand them and be transformed by them. Reflection questions at the end of each chapter can be used for personal or group study, and an appendix for pastors provides guidance for preaching the parables. Pastors, Bible teachers, and serious students of Scripture will find this tour through Jesus's parabolic teaching to be a feast for both the mind and the soul.

Download or read book The Parables of Jesus Christ Explained written by John Clowes and published by Createspace Independent Pub. This book was released on 2010-01-04 with total page 250 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The parables of Jesus Christ in the New Testament are explained, and for each, a spiritual sense is given. It is said in Matthew and Mark that Jesus Christ spoke nothing without a parable, from which we are plainly taught how important it is to understand the language of the parables in the Bible. The object of this book is that devout readers of the Holy Word may have an enlightened and spiritual discernment of the divine things contained in the parables of our Saviour God, in order that their minds may be more opened to receive and to love the things of heaven and eternal life. Indeed, when viewed in a connected series, the gospel parables express and describe the whole process of regeneration, commencing with the first reception of Heavenly Truth from the Word, and advancing through all gradations of its growth to the full maturity of heavenly love and life.

A parable can be defined as an earthly story with a heavenly meaning.
