In fact, he's acting as tender and protective as if she were carrying his baby. But something seems to be keeping Dom from fully committing to her. Book Daddy Long Legs

Download or read book Daddy Long Legs written by John Price and published by Shambhala Publications. This book was released on 2013-05-14 with total page 238 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: John Price appears to have thrown in the towel. He has spent the last year struggling to support his family, neglecting to spend time with his wife and children, and becoming increasingly cynical about the degraded state of the natural world around him. After a heart-attack scare, however, his wife demands that he start appreciating all the "good things" in his life: their mouse-infested old house, their hopelessly overgrown yard, and most of all, the joys and humiliations of parenthood. In his quest to become a better father, Price faces many unexpected challenges—like understanding his grandmother’s decision to die, and supporting his nature-loving sons’ decision to make their home a "no-kill zone" for all living creatures. Still he finds the second chance he was looking for—to save himself and, perhaps, his small corner of an imperfect yet still beautiful world.

Book Jesus Biological Father Was Joseph

Download or read book Jesus Biological Father Was Joseph written by D. S. WAGGONER and published by . This book was released on 2020-05-29 with total page 70 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Jesus' Biological father was Joseph, according to the New Testament. The birth narratives from Matthew and Luke's gospels were written just ambiguously enough that Jesus' birth story could be interpreted as describing a biological relationship between Joseph and Jesus. If Jesus was indeed described as the natural son of Joseph, this could be a game changer in the Jewish community, as we now have possible historical evidence of Apostle Peter defending the Jews against Rome, undetected, for nearly 2000 years, as he said he would, according to Jewish rumor." DS Waggoner. "So, before I address your questions, allow me to remind you of God's command to Abraham, that he bind his son Isaac as a sacrifice. Abraham understood this to be a command to sacrifice Isaac, which was clearly the intention of the test. Nevertheless, God's word was fulfilled by the mere act of Abraham binding Isaac. That's not what "to bind as a sacrifice" normally means but it's an equally valid way of understanding those words. Sometimes words can have two meanings." -Rabbi Jack Abramowitz OU Torah Content Editor

Book Your DNA Guide the Book

Download or read book Your DNA Guide the Book written by Diahan Southard and published by . This book was released on 2020-02-26 with total page 250 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: You don't have to learn everything about genetic genealogy before asking specific questions of your DNA! That's the premise of Diahan Southard's brand new book, Your DNA Guide - the Book, now available for pre-order at a special sale price. Your DNA Guide - the Book is like no other genetic genealogy book on the market. Instead of learning more-than-you-need-to-know in textbook style, you'll choose a specific DNA question to start exploring right away. You'll follow concrete step-by-step plans, learning important DNA concepts--in plain English--as you go. Do you want to learn who your 2X great grandmother is? Turn to page 23. Do you want to know how you are related to one of your DNA matches? Page 37. As you proceed, you check your progress and get new guidance based on your specific results at each stage. (Including troubleshooting, like when your matches just aren't responding or your great-grandparents turn out to be first cousins.) This powerful, hands-on approach is based on Diahan's 20 years of experience in the genetic genealogy industry and especially in the past five years, as she helps clients one-on-one make DNA discoveries. It became clear to her that while each client's situation may be unique, there are patterns in how you can find solutions that you can apply yourself. Your DNA Guide - the Book is for anyone who has taken a DNA test or may want to. It helps genealogists reconstruct family trees. It helps adoptees identify biological relatives. It can help you identify a specific DNA match. In short, it helps anyone explore what their DNA--and their DNA matches--can tell them about their origins.

Book Abraham Enloe of Western North Carolina

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "It is now thought by psychologists that a children cannot be any more intellectual that its ancestors. If this is true, the world may never have heard of Abraham Lincoln. In his fascinating book, Abraham Enloe of Western North Carolina: The Natural father of Abraham Lincoln, Don Norris contends that the illiterate Tom Lincoln, long thought to be Abe's dad, could never have sired the sixteenth president of the United States. The author goes on to proffer that the science of eugenics and heredity now demand for President Lincoln a far superior ancestry to the 'sub-normal' Thomas Lincoln."--Back cover

Book Fathers and Their Children in the First Three Years of Life

Download or read book Fathers and Their Children in the First Three Years of Life written by Frank L'Engle Williams and published by Texas A&M University Press. This book was released on 2020-01-27 with total page 311 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: How ancient is father care of human infants and young children, and why did it emerge? Is it possible that father care arose among the ancestors of modern humans and became essential for survival? Or is it a recent, though variable, development? Is father care an evolved trait of Homo sapiens or is it a learned cultural behavior transmitted across generations in some societies but not others? In this important study, Frank L’Engle Williams examines the anthropological record for evidence of the social behaviors associated with paternity, suggesting that ample evidence exists for the importance of such behaviors for infant survival. Focusing on the first three postnatal years, he considers the implications of father care—both in the fossil record and in more recent cross-cultural research—for the development of such distinctively human traits as bipedalism, extensive brain growth, language, and socialization. He also reviews the rituals by which many human societies construct and reinforce the meanings of socially recognized fatherhood. Father care was adaptive within the context of the parental pair bond and shaped how infants developed socially and biologically. The initial imprinting of socially recognized fathers during the first few postnatal years may have sustained culturally sanctioned indirect care such as provisioning and protection of dependents for nearly two decades thereafter. In modern humans, this three-year window is critical to father-child bonding. By increasing the survival of children in the past, present, and quite possibly the future, father care may be a driving force in the biological and cultural evolution of Homo sapiens.
