Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Ottoman lands, which extended from modern Hungary to the Arabian peninsula, were home to a vast population with a rich variety of cultures. The Ottoman World is the first primary source reader to bring a wide and diverse set of voices across Ottoman society into the classroom. Written in many languages—not only Ottoman Turkish but also Arabic, Armenian, Greek, Hebrew, Italian, and Persian—these texts, here translated, span the extent of the early modern Ottoman empire, from the 1450s to 1700. Instructors are supplied with narratives conveying the lived experiences of individuals through texts that highlight human variety and accelerate a trend away from a state-centric approach to Ottoman history. In addition, samples from court registers, legends, biographical accounts, hagiographies, short stories, witty anecdotes, jokes, and lampoons provide exciting glimpses into popular mindsets in Ottoman society. By reflecting new directions in the scholarship with an innovative choice of texts, this collection provides a vital resource for teachers and students.

Dr Karim is the founder of the Science of BioGeometry in the early 1970s. BioGeometry is the science that uses shapes, colors, motion and sound to induce harmony into the subtle energy qualities of the environment. At the core of this harmony is a subtle energy quality found in the transcendental centers of the forming process of nature and is the main quality in sacred power spots of humanity that give a spiritual dimension to the timeless monuments erected since the dawn of humanity. With his experience as an architect and a scientist Dr. Karim has synergized aspects of Pythagorean Harmonics, Subtle energy sciences, Radiesthesia, Geobiology, Building Biology, Sacred Architecture & modern wave theories to produce a new Physics of Quality from which the science of BioGeometry emerged. *BioGeometry bridges science and spirituality to produce a natural harmony into the environment. *BioGeometry provides a viable solution in transforming the quality of the effect that electromagnetic radiation has on living systems. Successful projects in Switzerland in collaboration & acknowledgment of Swiss authorities prove its efficiency to take our modern science into the future. *BioGeometry provides new solutions to Earth Radiation, which is a serious health hazard if not acknowledged in the location and design of our buildings. * A new energy-quality-based analysis of the Great Pyramid in Giza, reveals new knowledge on the foremost of the wonders of the world and on the essence of the great Ancient Egyptian civilization.

Download or read book Historicizing Sunni Islam in the Ottoman Empire c 1450 c 1750 written by Tijana Krstić and published by BRILL. This book was released on 2020-09-29 with total page 546 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Articles collected in Historicizing Sunni Islam in the Ottoman Empire, c. 1450-c. 1750 engage with the idea that “Sunnism” itself has a history and trace how particular Islamic genres—ranging from prayer manuals, heresiographies, creeds, hadith and fatwa collections, legal and theological treatises, and historiography to mosques and Sufi convents—developed and were reinterpreted in the Ottoman Empire between c. 1450 and c. 1750. The volume epitomizes the growing scholarly interest in historicizing Islamic discourses and practices of the post-classical era, which has heretofore been styled as a period of decline, reflecting critically on the concepts of ‘tradition’, ‘orthodoxy’ and ‘orthopraxy’ as they were conceived and debated in the context of building and maintaining the longest-lasting Muslim-ruled empire. Download or read book Mystery of Tammuz 17 written by Herbert Stollorz and published by Faith in Future Foundation. This book was released on 2005-02-19 with total page 531 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Bible predicts the future, but scholars widely disagree on what the Bible says! How can the average person sort out fact from fiction? Daniel 12:10 boldly states that the wise will understand prophetic chronology in the last days. Have those days already begun? Retired hi-tech inventor and author Herbert R. Stollorz discovered that the dates of many key events predicted in the books of Daniel and Revelation fall between the years 2008 and 2018. Two of the keys that unlocked this mystery are the Hebrew Alphabet Number System and the Jewish feast and fast days. One of those fast days, Tammuz 17, commemorates the fall of Jerusalem prior to the destruction of God's Temple in that ancient city.
Download or read book BioGeometry Signatures written by Ibrahim Karim and published by Createspace Independent Publishing Platform. This book was released on 2016-09-20 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Based on over 45 years of research, BioGeometry Signatures are linear diagrams that help balance the subtle energy of body organs. The organ subtle energy patterns are accessed through BioGeometry Signatures placed externally in the body's energy fields to create a connection through Resonance of Shape. "This is a book that will change the way you think about your body and your health. It shows that we are not separate from the shapes, angles and proportions that surround us all the time, and that these shapes create energetic patterns that can introduce equilibrium and harmony into our own biological makeup. This is a modern science of energy balancing that provides the key to the hidden ancient knowledge of great civilizations. With BioGeometry, Dr. Ibrahim Karim has demonstrated how powerful simple shapes can be in altering the functioning of our physical, mental, and spiritual worlds. This has been frequently demonstrated in architectural and design projects, environmental balancing solutions including the mitigation of the effects of electro-pollution and geopathic stress, in health and wellness projects, and in the efforts of individuals in their personal spiritual development. In this book on BioGeometry Signatures, once again you see how powerful certain carefully created shapes can be in altering the physical functioning of organ systems, in supporting healing, and in changing physical and mental states. Work with them, let them touch you, and feel how they can assist you in your own search for harmony." Michael J. Maley, Ph.D. Instructor in BioGeometry

Download or read book Text linguistics and Biblical Hebrew written by David Allan Dawson and published by A&C Black. This book was released on 1994-01-01 with total page 254 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Modern linguistics is a relative newcomer in the scientific world, and text-linguistics, or discourse analysis, is one of its youngest disciplines. This fact has inclined many toward scepticism of its value for the Hebraist, yet much benefit is thereby overlooked. In this work, the author examines recent contributions to Hebrew text-linguistics by Niccacci, Andersen, Eskhult, Khan, and Longacre, evaluating them against a twofold standard of theoretical and methodological integrity, and clarity of communication. An extensive introduction to one particularly promising model of text analysis (from Longacre's tagmemic school) is given, and a step-by-step methodology is presented. Analyses according to this model and methodology are given of seven extended text samples, each building on the findings of the previous analyses: Judg. 2; Lev. 14.1-32; Lev. 6.1-7.37; parallel instructions and historical reports about the building of the Tabernacle, from Exodus 25-40; Judg. 10.6-12.7; and the book of Ruth in its entirety. Considerable attention is given to the question of text-linguistics and reported speech.
