Download or read book London Map in Your Own Colors Coloring City Notebook with Street Index Detailed Grayscale Map Atlas City of London England Great Britain Coloring Book for Drawing Notetaking written by Sergio Mazitto and published by Createspace Independent Publishing Platform. This book was released on 2017-08-24 with total page 118 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Coloring map notebook of the city of London, England, Great Britain. While this is a comprehensive map atlas of the city, with virtually every street labeled and indexed, this book is meant to be your visual diary, a silent and friendly companion as you roam and discover the city on your own terms. To give you the maximum space and freedom, the maps are totally free from unnecessary clutter. For the few features (apart from the streets) that have been marked, like theaters, art galleries and museums, the symbols are tiny, unobtrusive and there are no labels to get in your way. The web of the city streets on every page is there for you to make notes, to color and to draw, to jot down your impressions and thoughts right then and there, at the very moment and in the very place where you have them. At the back, there are empty pages to help you catalogue your notes and drawings to make them easier to find later: a 'contents' section referencing every atlas page and an alphabetical index section. You can also use them, of course, just as ordinary notebook pages. All neighboring maps on the atlas pages overlap, making it easy to move from page to page. And the ample page size of 8.5x11 inches gives you all the space you need for your drawings, thoughts, stories, and memories. Paper records are much different than electronic memory files and have a much longer life. They are great for comparing notes during the trip with your fellow colorists, and then you can keep the book to relive and tell the story of your travels and impressions to the important people in your life months or decades later. Enjoy your trip with this Coloring City Notebook!

Book Mapping the Spectrum

Download or read book Mapping the Spectrum written by Klaus Hentschel and published by . This book was released on 2002 with total page 596 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Ever since the boom of spectrum analysis in the 1860s, spectroscopy has become one of the most fruitful research technologies in analytic chemistry, physics, astronomy, and other sciences. This book is the first in-depth study of the ways in which various types of spectra, especially the sun's Fraunhofer lines, have been recorded, displayed, and interpreted. The book assesses the virtues and pitfalls of various types of depictions, including hand sketches, woodcuts, engravings, lithographs and, from the late 1870s onwards, photomechanical reproductions. The material of a 19th-century engraver or lithographer, the daily research practice of a spectroscopist in the laboratory, or a student's use of spectrum posters in the classroom, all are looked at and documented here. For pioneers of photography such as John Herschel or Hermann Wilhelm Vogel, the spectrum even served as a prime test object for gauging the color sensitivity of their processes. This is a broad, contextual portrayal of the visual culture of spectroscopy in the 19th and early 20th centuries. The illustrations are not confined to spectra--they show instruments, laboratories, people at work, and plates of printing manuals. The result is a multifacetted description, focusing on the period from Fraunhofer up to the beginning of Bohr's quantum theory. A great deal of new and fascinating material from two dozen archives has been included. A must for anyone interested in the history of modern science or in research practice using visual representations.
