Book Fundamentals of Biomechanics

Download or read book Fundamentals of Biomechanics written by Duane Knudson and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2021-06-10 with total page 252 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Blending up-to-date biomechanical knowledge with professional application knowledge, this second edition presents a clear, conceptual approach to understanding biomechanics within the context of the qualitative analysis of human movement. It develops nine principles of biomechanics, which provide an applied structure for biomechanical concepts, and the application of each principle is fully explored in several chapters. The book also offers real-world examples of the application of biomechanics, which emphasize how biomechanics is integrated with the other subdisciplines of kinesiology to contribute to qualitative analysis of human movement.

Book Comparison During Two Different Situations of Jump Shot in Basketball

Download or read book Comparison During Two Different Situations of Jump Shot in Basketball written by Shweta S and published by Asmtm. This book was released on 2022-12-22 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The purpose of this study was to examine the differences between successful Jump shot in Basketball with and without an opponent on selected Electromyographical and Kinematic variables. This study investigates the influence of an opponent's presence on the jump shot technique. For the study, ten male athletes aged between 17-25 years were randomly selected as subjects from Basketball that represented Lakshmibai National Institute of Physical Education Gwalior in an Inter-University competition. The participants were filmed as they executed the jump shot in basketball at the execution phase. To ensure the same condition for all the participants the same distance from the basket, all the subjects of the study were righthanded. The variables selected for this study were Linear kinematic variables (Height of ball release at the moment execution phase, Distance of ball travelled, The instant velocity of ball release, Centre of gravity (CG)), Angular kinematic variables (The Angle of the Ankle joint (right), The Angle of the Knee joint (right), The Angle of the Pelvis joint (right), The Angle of the Shoulder joint (right), The Angle of the Elbow joint (right), The Angle of the wrist joint (right), The Angle of release), Surface electromyographical variables (Anterior Deltoid, Posterior Deltoid, Biceps Brachii, Triceps Brachii, Flexor Carpi Radialis, Extensor Carpi Radialis, Brachioradialis). The collected scores on each selected variables of successful jump shots with and without opponents the statistical analysis was done with the help of SPSS, Descriptive statistics and paired 't-tests were applied to compare the kinematic and electromyographical variables.
