This book was released on 2019-09-17 with total page 103 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This report presents a cost analysis of Precipitated Calcium Carbonate (PCC) production from lime. In this typical process, lime reacts with water producing calcium hydroxide, which is further carbonated with carbon dioxide from calcination to produce PCC. This report was developed based essentially on the following reference(s): (1) US Patent 6251356, issued to G. R. International in 2001 (assigned to Pacific Nano Products in 2015) (2) US Patent 3920800, issued to Cyprus Mines Corporation in 1975 Keywords: Hydrated Lime, Slaked Lime, Slake, Calcium Oxide, Quicklime

Book Calcium Carbonate Production from Limestone Cost Analysis Calcium Carbonate E11A

Download or read book Calcium Carbonate Production from Limestone Cost Analysis Calcium Carbonate E11A written by Intratec and published by Intratec Solutions. This book was released on 2016-03-01 with total page 53 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This report presents a cost analysis of Precipitated Calcium Carbonate (PCC) production from limestone. In this typical process, limestone is first calcinated. The product reacts with water producing calcium hydroxide, which is further carbonated with carbon dioxide from calcination to produce PCC. This report examines one-time costs associated with the construction of a United States-based plant and the continuing costs associated with the daily operation of such a plant. More specifically, it discusses: * Capital Investment, broken down by: - Total fixed capital required, divided in production unit (ISBL); infrastructure (OSBL) and contingency - Alternative perspective on the total fixed capital, divided in direct costs, indirect costs and contingency - Working capital and costs incurred during industrial plant commissioning and start-up * Production cost, broken down by: - Manufacturing variable costs (raw materials, utilities) - Manufacturing fixed costs (maintenance costs, operating charges, plant overhead, local taxes and insurance) - Depreciation and corporate overhead costs * Raw materials consumption, products generation and labor requirements * Process block flow diagram and description of industrial site installations (production unit and infrastructure) This report was developed based essentially on the following reference(s): (1) US Patent 6251356, issued to G. R. International in 2001 (assigned to Pacific Nano Products in 2015) (2) US Patent 3920800, issued to Cyprus Mines Corporation in 1975 Keywords: Calcite, Aragonite, Calcine, Hydrated Lime, Slaked Lime

Book Calcium Carbonate Production via Lime Soda Process Cost Analysis Calcium Carbonate E31A

Download or read book Calcium Carbonate Production via Lime Soda Process Cost Analysis Calcium Carbonate E31A written by Intratec and published by Intratec. This book was released on 2019-09-17 with total page 103 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This report presents a cost analysis of Precipitated Calcium Carbonate (PCC) production from lime and sodium carbonate. The process examined is a conventional lime-soda process. In this process, calcium hydroxide is generated by treating lime (calcium oxide) with water. Then, calcium hydroxide reacts with soda ash (sodium carbonate) forming sodium hydroxide and Calcium Carbonate. Precipitated Calcium Carbonate, in solid form, and sodium hydroxide solution (50 wt%) are obtained as final products. This report was developed based essentially on the following reference(s): Keywords: Hydrated Lime, Slaked Lime, Slake, Calcium Oxide, Lime-Soda Process

Book Macro Economics of Mineral and Water Resources

Download or read book Macro Economics of Mineral and Water Resources written by Kaulir Kisor Chatterjee and published by Springer. This book was released on 2015-03-06 with total page 316 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book highlights the indispensability of minerals, the vulnerability of humans and issues faced by governments around the world regarding the management of natural resources. It addresses the growing land-ecology-mining conflicts, energy security and water policies of different countries bringing these issues into focus and critically analyzing them. The book discusses the role of governments regarding the security-centric issues pertaining to sustainability of mineral supply and the welfare-centric aspects of sustainable development of mineral resources. The latter includes the current trends for corporate social responsibility, political viability of mining projects, industrial ethics, human health and human resource development. The Annexure I is unique: It is a list of 925 familiar consumer products and processes with the names of the minerals, metals and rocks as well as the intermediate chemicals and alloys that go into the making of that product or process alongside each. Annexure II is an up-to-date, exhaustive list of about 835 minerals, metals, rocks and intermediate chemicals and alloys and against each of them is a list of the names of the end products and processes for which they are used. These two annexures will serve as a day-to-day reference source for teachers, students and professionals concerned with minerals as well as other interested readers. The book will be useful to any university/institution with undergraduate and post-graduate teaching/research facilities and libraries in the field of geology, mining, mineral economics, planning and natural-resource management. About the Author Kaulir Kisor Chatterjee studied Applied Geology at the Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad for his post-graduate and PhD degrees. He served in the Indian Bureau of Mines for over three decades and retired in early 2004, as Chief Mineral Economist. The fundamental nature and diversity of the industry is best understood from the fact that the industry itself is the largest consumer of its products, accounting for around 33% of total consumption. The industry has a weight of 14% in the Index of Industrial Production, giving an indication of the importance the sector holds in Indian industrial growth. A robust chemical industry is a harbinger of significant economic and strategic benefits to the nation. The chemical industry comprises the companies that produce industrial chemicals. Central to the modern world economy, it converts raw materials (oil, natural gas, air, water, metals, and minerals) into several different products. The Indian chemical industry is the sixth largest in the world. It accounts for nearly one eighth of industrial production of the country. It also accounts for one sixth of Indian exports of manufactured goods and has been registering a steady growth of about 7 to 8 percent over the past few years. This book provides detailed project profiles of important chemical industries with its properties, uses & applications, manufacturing process, process flow sheet, BIS specification and cost estimation of the following chemicals: acetylene gas, acrylic acid and its derivatives, ciprofloxacin HCl, dicalcium phosphate, glycerol monostearate, L-ascorbic acid (plain), manganese oxide, potassium iodate, precipitated calcium carbonate, single superphosphate, sodium silicate and zinc sulfate (33%, 21% & 12%) 133. This book will be an invaluable resource to traders, new entrepreneurs, manufacturers, project consultant who wants to acquire a wider knowledge of these chemicals. Comprehensive in scope, the book provides solutions that are directly applicable to the manufacturing technology and other specific details of these chemicals.
