This book was released on 2002-01-01 with total page 79 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The purpose of this manual is to contribute to and facilitate the use of computable general equilibrium (CGE) models in the analysis of issues related to food policy in developing countries. The volume includes a detailed presentation of a static “standard” CGE model and its required database and incorporates features of particular importance in developing countries. The manual discusses the implementation of the model in GAMS and is accompanied by a CD-ROM that includes the GAMS software (free demo system), the GAMS input files for the model, sample databases, simulations, solution reports, and a social accounting matrix (SAM) aggregation program. Although the volume provides a standardized framework for analysis, the analyst is not forced to make “one-size-fits-all” assumptions. The GAMS code is written to give the analyst considerable flexibility in model specification.

Download or read book Jeff Koons Shine written by Arturo Galansino and published by Marsilio. This book was released on 2022-03-15 with total page 176 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A Jeff Koons overview thematizing "shine" as aesthetic substance and motif across his five-decade career This volume is published for Jeff Koons' (born 1955) largest ever exhibition in Italy, developed in close dialogue with the artist, and presenting some of the most celebrated works of this master who, from the mid-1970s until the present day, has forged a reputation as one of the most important figures of the global contemporary art scene. Responsible for countless works that have entered the collective imagination, Koons regards "shine" as a key feature of his artwork--from the postmodern reinvention of the readymade to works in perfectly polished metal that resemble inflatable toys. Indeed, "shine" is far more than an ornament: it is the very substance of these works, as this reflective property brings together appearance and essence. Shinegathers paintings and sculptures on loan from international collections and museums in order to explore the concept of "shine," calling into question our relationship with daily reality and with the very concept of a work of art.

Download or read book Jeff Koons written by Norman Rosenthal and published by Ashmolean Museum Oxford. This book was released on 2019 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Curated by Koons himself, together with guest curator Norman Rosenthal, this show features seventeen important works, fourteen of which have never been exhibited in the UK before. They span the artist's entire career and his most well-known series, including Equilibrium, Statuary, Banality, Antiquity and his recent Gazing Ball sculptures and paintings. This exhibition will provoke a conversation between his creations and the history of art and ideas with which his work engages. Jeff Koons burst onto the contemporary art scene in the 1980s. He has been described as the most famous, important, subversive, controversial and expensive artist in the world. From his earliest works Koons has explored the 'ready-made' and 'appropriated image', using unadulterated found objects and creating painstaking replicas of ancient sculptures and Old Master paintings which almost defy belief in their craftsmanship and precision. Throughout his career Koons has pushed at the boundaries of contemporary art practice, stretching the limits of what is possible. Exhibition: Ashmolean Museum, Oxford, UK (07.02.-09.06.2019).
