Book excerpt: Excerpt from The Aryan Race: Its Origins and Its Achievements Any attempt, indeed, to tell the story of the Aryan race, even in outline, during the recent age of mankind would be equivalent to an attempt to write the history of civilization, - which is far from our purpose. But in the comparison of the intellectual conditions and products of the several races of mankind, and in the consideration of the evolution of human institutions and lines of thought and action, we have a field of research which is by no means exhausted, and with which the general world of readers is very little con versant. Our work will therefore be found to be largely comparative in treatment, the characteristics and conditions of the other leading races of mankind being considered, and contrasted with those of the Aryan, with the purpose not only of clearly showing the general superiority of the latter, but also of point ing out the natural steps of evolution through which it emerged from original savagery and attained to its present intellectual supremacy and advanced stage of enlightenment. Book The Aryan Race Its Origins and Its Achievements

Download or read book The Aryan Race Its Origins and Its Achievements written by Charles Morris and published by Cosimo, Inc.. This book was released on 2005-12-01 with total page 361 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This general Aryan superiority is indicative of a highly active and capable intellect, even though no one mind exercised a controlling influence. The general mentality of the race, the gross sum of Aryan thought and judgment, must have guided the course of Aryan evolution and kept our forefathers from those side-pits of stagnation into which all their competitors fell. During its primitive era the Aryan race moved steadily forward unto a well-devised system of organization which formed the basis of the great development of modern times.-from "The Age of Philosophy"What began in the late 19th century as a startlingly inept work of wishful thinking, outrageous conjecture, and bald racism masquerading as scholarship transformed itself, in the late 20th century, into a foundational work of neo-Nazi philosophy. Positing an heretofore-and subsequently-entirely unknown culture of Indo-Europeans as the standard bearers of all human progress and initiative, this 1888 work strings together a portrait of the "Aryan race" from carefully chosen scraps of religious, political, and social systems from across the Old World into a house of historical cards.Useless as a guide to human cultural origins, The Aryan Race is nevertheless essential reading for anyone hoping to understand the modern subculture of white supremacists, and how they come by their extreme doctrines.CHARLES MORRIS (1833-1922) also wrote A Manual of Classical Literature, Aryan Sun-Myths: The Origin of Religion, Heroes of Discovery in America, and The San Francisco Calamity.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from The Origin of the Aryans: An Account of the Prehistoric Ethnology and Civilization of Europe The last ten years have seen a revolution in the Opinion of scholars as to the region in which the Aryan race originated, and theories which not long ago were universally accepted as the well-established conclusions of science now hardly find a defender. In Germany several works have been devoted exclusively to the subject, but no English book has yet appeared giving an account of the state Of the controversy, and embodying the results recently arrived at by philologists, archaeologists, and anthropologists. Download or read book Aryan Civilization Its Religious Origin and Its Progress with an Account of the Religion Laws and Institutions of Greece and Rome Cl written by De Coulanges and published by Forgotten Books. This book was released on 2015-09-27 with total page 310 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from Aryan Civilization: Its Religious Origin and Its Progress, With an Account of the Religion, Laws, and Institutions, of Greece and Rome The first edition of La Cite Antique, by Monsieur Fustel de Coulanges, Historical Professor at Strasbourg, appeared in 1864, and has since been crowned by the French Academy. Perhaps no other treatise could be found more useful for educational purposes or affording a clearer insight into the spirit of antiquity. The distinctive features of it are the use of Sanscrit for further purposes than those of philology, and a comparison of the laws and institutions of the Greeks and Romans with those of the ancient Hindoos. Greek and Roman civilization is shewn to have been based upon the worship of men's dead ancestors; from which worship, and not so much from the right of labour, were derived the idea of property and the old laws of succession. Among the points proved is the identity of the ancient gens with the primitive family, and the revival of the patriarchal theory for at least a portion of the Aryan race. Download or read book Race Life of the Aryan Peoples Vol 1 written by Joseph Pomeroy Widney and published by Forgotten Books. This book was released on 2017-09-17 with total page 358 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from Race Life of the Aryan Peoples, Vol. 1: The Old World Every masterful race of the world's history has its epic. It is the tale of the fathers told to the sons. But side by side with the spoken epic is another, unspoken, yet truer and deeper. It is the tale of the race life, not told in words, but lived in deeds done. And the epic lived is always more wonderful than the epic told. The true epic is found, not in the story of the battles or of the deeds of the rulers, but in the race life. In the perspective of time men become less, man grows greater. Race life is broader, deeper, richer than the life of any man, or of any men. The great men of a race are only an evolution of its race force; and the reserve force is greater than its product. They are indices, race marks. The great man is as the mountain peak; for the mountains that loom up above the wide-spread plain are not the land; they are only the land-marks, marks of the land. Kings are the accident; the people, the law. The Greek colonies, not Ilium and Atreides Agamemnon, are the true epic of Hellas, vastly more marvelous. So of the Aryan folk; not the Vedas, not the Avestas, not the Iliad, or the. About the Publisher Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books.
