Book The Anomaly Beneath Mars

Download or read book The Anomaly Beneath Mars written by Bill Valiontis and published by Bill Valiontis. This book was released on 2024-01-24 with total page 138 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A crimson sunset bled across the Martian horizon, painting the rusted hulks of abandoned rovers in shades of forgotten ambition. The wind, a constant lament across the desolate landscape, whipped tendrils of crimson dust around Elara Vance's ankles. She stood on the precipice of Valles Marineris, the grand canyon of Mars, its depths swallowing the fading sunlight whole. Below, where shadows clawed at the last vestiges of day, whispered stories of ancient oceans and the ghosts of a planet's lost potential.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: As I write this short preface, the red orb of Mars is high in the eastern sky, and is brighter than it has been for many years. Last night my telescope again revealed the strange polar hood which is a feature of the planet at this time in its cycle. Because of its current prominence in the night sky, it is a very appropriate time to bring together and reappraise what we know of Mars and look forward to the next wave of planetary exploration. The initial notion of writing a book about Mars is an exciting one; the practicalities involved in working through and completing the project are, however, more than a trifle exacting. The first problem I encountered was the sheer vastness of the library of information about Mars which now exists. The second was the natural extension of the first, that is, how best to analyse it and reach widely acceptable interpretations. I have tried to write the story of Mars in a logical and unbiased way, however, we all have our individual prejudices, and I would be less than truthful if I did not admit to personal bias here and there. With this in mind, I apologise to any authors who may feel either misinterpreted or less than adequately acknowledged. The project is now completed and has been superbly prepared by Chapman & Hall.

Download or read book Mars written by Hugh H. Kieffer and published by University of Arizona Press. This book was released on 2018-01-30 with total page 1517 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The planet Mars has been a subject of wonder for millennia, as attested by its place in mythology, by later speculation about its canals, and by the scientific and public excitement over the Viking mission. Although the scientific literature about the planet is voluminous, no comprehensive treatment of the results of modern spacecraft exploration has yet been made available. This volume fills that gap by providing a summary of what is presently known about Mars and identifying many puzzles such as polar cap variance, occurrence of dust storms, and the possible location of water. The introductory chapter cites questions, controversies, and milestones in the study of Mars, and also includes an annotated book list, basic data about the planet, and a guide to Martian seasons. A chapter on telescopic observation credits the contributions made by many amateurs that have advanced our knowledge of variations observed on Mars. A chapter on spacecraft exploration, by an American and a Russian author who have participated in all Mars missions, includes a revelation of an additional Soviet attempt. Twenty-nine technical articles cover geophysics; bedrock geology; surface; atmosphere; exosphere and magnetic field; and climate history. Two chapters address the search for life on Mars; three concluding chapters consider the Martian satellites. An indispensable reference for scientists, Mars will also serve as a complete sourcebook for serious amateur astronomers.

Book Volcano ice Interaction on Earth and Mars

Download or read book Volcano ice Interaction on Earth and Mars written by J. L. Smellie and published by Geological Society of London. This book was released on 2002 with total page 448 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This volume focuses on magmas and cryospheres on Earth and Mars and is the first publication of its kind to combine a thematic set of contributions addressing the diverse range of volcano-ice interactions known or thought to occur on both planets. Understanding those interactions is a comparatively young scientific endeavour, yet it is vitally important for a fuller comprehension of how planets work as integrated systems. It is also topical since future volcanic eruptions on Earth may contribute to melting ice sheets and thus to global sea level rise.

Book Ancient Aliens on Mars

Download or read book Ancient Aliens on Mars written by Mike Bara and published by SCB Distributors. This book was released on 2013-10-02 with total page 230 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: New York Times best-selling author and Secret Space Program researcher Mike Bara brings us this lavishly illustrated volume on alien structures on Mars. Was there once a vast, technologically advanced civilization on Mars, and did it leave evidence of its existence behind for humans to find eons later? Did these advanced extraterrestrials vanish in a solar system-wide cataclysm of their own making, only to make their way to Earth and start anew? Was Mars once as lush and green as the Earth, and teeming with life? Did Mars once orbit a missing member of the solar system, a “Super Earth” that vanished in a disaster that devastated life on Earth and Venus and left us only the asteroid belt as evidence of its once grand existence? Did the survivors of this catastrophe leave monuments and temples behind, arranged in a mathematical precision designed to teach us the Secret of a new physics that could lift us back to the stars? Does the planet have an automated defense shield that swallows up robotic probes if they wander into the wrong areas? And are the lights still on down there, deep below the sands of Mars, just waiting for us to uncover them? Mike Bara examines all these questions and more in this astounding book, full of fascinating information on the following topics: Mars as the Abode of Life What Happened to Mars? The True Colors of Mars The Message of Cydonia The Politics of Mars The Pathfinder Sphinx Mars Global Surveyor Discoveries Face it, It’s a Face Tons More!

Book Mars Is Away from Shelter

Download or read book Mars Is Away from Shelter written by P. S. Rain and published by iUniverse. This book was released on 2000-05 with total page 602 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The year is 2051. Every probe sent to reconnoiter up close of Candor Canyon, Mars has failed. Accidents? NASA Director, Ken Hsu, thinks not. Suspecting a sinister hand, he surreptiously re-directs the latest probe sent to Mars from its destined mission plan, toward Candor where it finds an anomaly, an ancient structure not wrought by natural random processes. DoD immediately steps in to investigate, much to the chagrin of President Diane Keynes, who worries not only about the ever-increasing influence DoD exerts over space exploration, but also fears any semblance of catastrophe will sink her re-election bid in the coming year. Blinded by ambition, and her hatred for Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Henry Santos, she is unaware of an odious danger much closer to her than a dead alien ruin on Mars, much more present and quite alive, threatening her administration, her sanity, and her life. Though tough, strong willed, and astute, she needs help. Will she get it before it's too late? At risk is more than her singular life. All humanity on Earth could suffer should she fail.

Download or read book The Martian Anomalies written by Lochlainn Seabrook and published by . This book was released on 2022-02-19 with total page 400 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Has there ever been civilized life on Mars? Conventional scientists say no. But award-winning writer-historian Lochlainn Seabrook, author of the MUFON-approved bestseller UFOs and Aliens: The Complete Guidebook, believes that view is premature and unscientific. To prove his point, he has written The Martian Anomalies, a one-of-a-kind book filled with some 1,000 color images, carefully hand-picked from NASA's massive Mars photo collection. Using these images as his foundation, he takes the reader on a fascinating journey of discovery, examining and discussing the photos in minute detail, each one presenting photographic proof that a sophisticated ancient race may have once called Mars home. Seabrook's assemblage of cryptic and often eerie NASA photos spans over five decades, and represents some of the most compelling evidence yet of the extraterrestrial Mars theory, made famous by such early astronomers as Elias Colbert, Thomas Dick, Camille Flammarion, Sir William Herschel, Giovanni Schiaparelli, and more particularly Percival Lowell, whose beliefs influenced famous scientists like Nikola Tesla, as well as science fiction writers like H. G. Wells and Edgar Rice Burroughs. Many other noteworthy 19th- and 20th-Century scientists, from Alexander Graham Bell to Albert Einstein, were convinced that there was life on Mars. Were these intellectual giants onto something or were they simply naive? The author lets his readers draw their own conclusion. If Mars is truly a "barren wasteland," a "cold dead world" that has never been capable of supporting large complex life forms, as mainstream science claims, what about the hundreds of thousands of extraordinary shapes, mysterious objects, and odd items scattered over the Martian surface? Are they natural, as astronomers declare, or artificial, as believers maintain? While establishment space researchers continue to assert that at most only microbes could have ever lived on the Red Planet, using photos taken by mainstream science itself (from cameras mounted on NASA's numerous Mars exploratory vehicles), Seabrook offers highly persuasive documentation that technologically advanced beings might have once lived on Mars. He does not claim they did, nor does he claim that he has irrefutable proof. Taking a position midway between hard-nosed skeptics and noncritical conspiracy theorists, he asks both sides to remain open-minded until the anomalies on Mars can be studied in person by future astrogeologists, astrochemists, and astrobiologists. Along with 48 chapters of amazing and sometimes shocking Martian images, the author also provides a comprehensive introduction that includes excerpts from an electrifying 1984 U.S. government ESP session with a remote viewer, whose telepathic visit to Mars corroborates many of the photos in this very book. Also included is a chapter dedicated to anomalies on Phobos (one of Mars' two moons), a bibliography, notes, and an informative appendices section featuring Mars fact sheets, a list of natural Martian phenomena, and the CIA's pertinent announcement of its new UFO research group. If you're interested in science, astronomy, astrophotography, or extraterrestrials, you'll want to own a copy of The Martian Anomalies: A Photographic Search for Intelligent Life on Mars. It will forever alter the way you look at not only the Red Planet, but our solar system, our galaxy, and beyond. Available in paperback and hardcover. (All text copyright (c) Sea Raven Press)

Book excerpt: The Truth Agenda explores some of the most famous unexplained mysteries and global cover-ups of recent history. What is the truth about UFOs, pyramids, religious apparitions, psychic phenomena, visions of the future and ancient prophecies, and what is their connection to famous conspiracy theories concerning the Moon landings, 9/11, the New World Order, and claims that the planet is secretly run by a powerful ruling elite? Leading mysteries researcher Andy Thomas pulls the many threads together in an accessible, stimulating and credible overview which suggests that our world may be very different from the picture presented by the establishment. The Truth Agenda shows how we can avoid control manipulations and help to create a more positive future. Why do so many people believe in conspiracy theories, and what is the evidence to support them? What is the basis for the wide belief that we are now in a ‘New Era’ of massive change and consciousness shift? Why is there such huge but officially undeclared interest in paranormal phenomena from authorities and religions? How does all this tie together and explain the agendas of control and surveillance in the West, and what can we do?

Book excerpt: Picking up the saga directly where The Ruins of Mars left off, Waking Titan continues the narrative of Harrison Raheem Assad and the Mars Mission as they explore the caves beneath the Martian ruins. Underground in the great statue chamber, Harrison and his team struggle to come to terms with the discovery of two apparently different alien races depicted in stone. However problematic this new revelation may be, it is Braun, the team's AI, who truly sees just how far the influence of the mysterious race has reached. Echoing through time and space, a force drives Braun far from his programmed limitations and into a reality that is fractured and broken. Meanwhile, Harrison and the Mars team push ever deeper into the caves propelled by discovery, tragedy, and blind human perseverance. They search for answers they hope will be worth the price they paid to find them. Attacks from outside forces, both physical and metaphysical, descend upon Mars and Earth with devastating effects. These events come like cosmic tsunamis, giving credence to the warnings Braun so blindly followed and shift the direction the team takes to uncover the truth. Death, enlightenment, betrayal, and love texture the backdrop upon which Waking Titan is projected. The second novel in the Ruins of Mars Trilogy is about more than just a simple mission to Mars. The events in this installment grow to encompass not only the fate of the crew but that of all life in the solar system.
