Book Jung s Technique of Active Imagination and Desoille s Directed Waking Dream Method

Download or read book Jung s Technique of Active Imagination and Desoille s Directed Waking Dream Method written by Laner Cassar and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2020-06-07 with total page 231 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Jung's Technique of Active Imagination and Desoille's Directed Waking Dream Method brings together Carl Jung’s active imagination and Robert Desoille’s "rêve éveillé dirigé/directed waking dream" method (RED). It studies the historical development of these approaches in Central Europe in the first half of the 20th century and explores their theoretical similarities and differences, proposing an integrated framework of clinical practice. The book aims to study the wider European context of the 1900s which influenced the development of both Jung’s and Desoille’s methods. This work compares the spatial metaphors of interiority used by both Jung and Desoille to describe the traditional concept of inner psychic space in the waking dreams of Jung’s active imagination and Desoille’s RED. It also attempts a broader theoretical comparison between the procedural aspects of both RED and active imagination by identifying commonalities and divergences between the two approaches. This book is a unique contribution to analytical psychology and will be of great interest for academics, researchers and post-graduate students interested in the use of imagination and mental imagery in analysis, psychotherapy and counselling. The book’s historical focus will be of particular relevance to Jungian and Desoillian scholars since it is the first of its kind to trace the connections between the two schools and it gives a detailed account of Desoille’s early life and his first written works. This book was a Gradiva Award nominee for 2021.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In Time and the Psyche, a diverse selection of contributors explores the multi-layered aspects of time through the lens of analytical psychology. The book aims to bridge the gap between theory and practice, emphasising time's fundamental role in the workings and expressions of the psyche, and additionally exploring cultural and clinical dimensions. The contributors deal with temporality in our inner world and its manifestations as expressed by products of our psyche, covering topics including disturbances of temporality within the psychoanalytic session, the acausal connecting principle of synchronicity, time as expressed in film, objects, literature, and culture, and temporality as understood in various types of dreams and imaginary practices. The book also explores the time-bound world, time versus timelessness, the realm of the eternal, human versus cosmic time, Chronos versus Kairos and other temporality-related dimensions and their relationship to our psyche and our experience in the world. With contributors from backgrounds in clinical work, the arts, literature, and philosophy, this collection is unique in its scope. Time and the Psyche is a thought-provoking reading for academics and students of Jungian and post-Jungian studies, analytical psychologists and Jungian analysts in practice and in training.

Casey describes the essential forms that imagination assumes in everyday life.

Download or read book Le r ve veill en psychanalyse de l imaginaire l inconscient written by Gilbert Maurey and published by FeniXX. This book was released on 1994-01-01T23:00:00+01:00 with total page 197 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book LE R VE VEILL DIRIG REVISIT

Download or read book LE R VE VEILL DIRIG REVISIT written by Elisabeth Mercier and published by Editions L'Harmattan. This book was released on 2001-01-01 with total page 193 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Download or read book Le R ve veill libre written by Georges Romey and published by Albin Michel. This book was released on 2014-02-01 with total page 183 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Katathym Imaginative Psychotherapy

Download or read book Katathym Imaginative Psychotherapy written by Ulrich Bahrke and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2023-09-01 with total page 242 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In this book, Dr. Bahrke and Dr. Nohr introduce psychotherapists and psychoanalysts to how they can work with Katathym Imaginative Psychotherapy (KIP) at the current level of psychodynamic knowledge. The method is a method of psychodynamic psychotherapy introduced by Hanscarl Leuner in 1955 under the name "Katathymes Bilderleben" and further developed since then. The authors clearly show the state of the art in case studies and in a systematic presentation. About the method: How does KIP work? The therapeutic practice is based on the inclusion of imaginations in the therapy process. Unconscious desires, conflicts, their defense as well as the transference relationship are thus symbolically illustrated. The imaginations stimulated and accompanied by the therapist are a valuable supplement to the psychodynamic process of understanding and, in addition to conversation, open up an affect-related, motivation-promoting access route in the treatment of many disturbance patterns in short and long-term therapies. In contrast to other psychotherapy methods that use imaginations, imaginations in KIP are understood as a component of relational work, taking transference and resistance into account. Written for ... Psychodynamically working psychotherapists, psychiatrists and psychoanalysts who work with imaginations, as well as all colleagues interested in figurative language, metaphors and dreams.
