A. Chang and published by . This book was released on 1965 with total page 120 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: All available data concerning the thermodynamic properties of the group IV, V, and VI binary metal carbides have been critically evaluated and the values judged to be most reliable were selected. The compositional variation of the free energies of the group IV binary metal carbides has been calculated based on theoretical models.

Book Ultra High Temperature Materials IV

Download or read book Ultra High Temperature Materials IV written by Igor L. Shabalin and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2022-08-12 with total page 942 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book, as the fourth volume, continues on ultra-high temperature materials with melting (sublimation or decomposition) points around or over 2500 °C. In this quality the book has over-branched cross-links with the sections and tables of the previous Volumes I-III. Similarly to Volumes I-III, the book includes a thorough treatment of the physical and chemical properties of ultra-high temperature materials, namely such as W semi- and monocarbides, and continues the description of refractory carbides, which was begun from Volume II of the series. The book will be of interest to researchers, engineers, postgraduate, graduate and undergraduate students alike. The readers are provided with the full qualitative and quantitative assessment, which is based on the latest updates in the field of fundamental physics and chemistry, nanotechnology, materials science, design and engineering.

Book Ternary Phase Equilibria in Transition Metal Boron Carbon Silicon Systems Part 1 Related Binary Systems Volume 1 Mo C System

Download or read book Ternary Phase Equilibria in Transition Metal Boron Carbon Silicon Systems Part 1 Related Binary Systems Volume 1 Mo C System written by and published by . This book was released on 1965 with total page 176 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A complete phase diagram of the system molybdenum-carbon is presented. A thermodynamic model for the description of the phase separations of the Me2C phases in transition metal-carbon systems has been developed and was semiquantitatively applied to Mo2C. Literature data on thermodynamic properties of molybdenum carbides have been critically evaluated and data were selected. Apparative techniques for the precise study of phase reactions at high temperatures are described.

Book TERNARY PHASE EQUILIBRIA IN TRANSITION METAL BORON CARBON SILICON SYSTEMS PART 4 THERMOCHEMICAL CALCULATIONS VOLUME 3 COMPUTATIONAL APPROACH TO THE CALCULATION OF TERNARY PHASE DIAGRAMS

Download or read book TERNARY PHASE EQUILIBRIA IN TRANSITION METAL BORON CARBON SILICON SYSTEMS PART 4 THERMOCHEMICAL CALCULATIONS VOLUME 3 COMPUTATIONAL APPROACH TO THE CALCULATION OF TERNARY PHASE DIAGRAMS written by and published by . This book was released on 1966 with total page 81 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The general conditional equations which govern the phase equilibria in three-component systems are presented. Using the general conditional equations, a general method has been developed to precalculate the phase equilibria in three-component systems from first principle using computer technique. The method developed has been applied to several model examples and the system Ta-Hf-C. The phase equilibria in three-component systems calculated using the simplified method as originally developed by Rudy, agree well with those calculated by the present method. The only difference is in the homogeneous range with respect to the interstitial component of solid solutions which exhibit large variation with metal exchange. This is to be expected in view of the assumptions made in the simplified method.

Book Engineering Properties of Ceramics

Download or read book Engineering Properties of Ceramics written by James F. Lynch and published by . This book was released on 1966 with total page 380 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This Databook of engineering properties of ceramics supersedes the Materials Selection Handbook, issued in October, 1963, as RTD-TDR-63-4102 and its two supplements dated May 1964, and April 1965. The materials covered are principally refractory inorganic compounds in the form of monophase crystalline ceramics. Exceptions are the coverage of selected refractory composite materials and intermetallic compounds, as well as metalloid elements of boron, silicon, and germanium. Excluded are glasses, carbons, graphites, and compounds melting below about 2000 F (1200 C). Properties given are those pertinent to structural engineering. The data are in a format designed to permit comparison and selection of materials as well as to provide details on each specific material. Discussions of factors affecting property values and structural application of brittle materials also are included.
