Dentre estas teorias, destaca-se a da imputação objetiva, considerada como o mais importante estudo da ciência jurídico-penal européia desde o finalismo e o naturalismo jurídico-penal. O trabalho teve como objetivo investigar a possibilidade de o sistema penal brasileiro assimilar a teoria da imputação objetiva, especialmente na solução de casos de delitos omissivos. Partiu-se da hipótese de que o tema foi ainda pouco estudado, sendo realizada uma vasta pesquisa bibliográfica, considerando a forte influencia do Direito penal alemão desde as idéias de Georg Wilhelm Hegel, no século XIX. A pesquisa analisou a evolução dos conceitos de ação e omissão, abordando as diversas teorias do Direito penal que se propuseram a examinar o problema da causalidade, destacando a teoria da imputação objetiva, especialmente tomada a partir das propostas de Claus Roxin. Aborda-se, também, a questão da tipicidade nos crimes omissivos, principalmente quanto ao modelo adotado pelo Código Penal brasileiro, para que se possa verificar se, na forma como estão estruturados, admitem a recepção de uma nova dogmática jurídico-penal baseada no risco. Analisa o problema da causalidade nos crimes omissivos, concluindo-se pela utilidade deste recurso no exame de diversos casos concretos, para a constatação sobre a existência de um fato, e pela possibilidade de aplicação de vários critérios da teoria da imputação objetiva na solução adequada de delitos omissivos, conforme estão tipificados no Código Penal brasileiro, dispensada qualquer alteração legislativa.

A leading international framework for debates on the subject of stereotypes, the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women, was adopted in 1979 by the UN General Assembly and defines what constitutes discrimination against women. It also establishes an agenda to eliminate discrimination in all its forms in order to ensure substantive equality for women. Applying the Convention as the primary framework for analysis, this book provides essential strategies for eradicating gender stereotyping. Its proposed methodology requires naming operative gender stereotypes, identifying how they violate the human rights of women, and articulating states' obligations to eliminate and remedy these violations. According to Rebecca J. Cook and Simone Cusack, in order to abolish all forms of discrimination against women, priority needs to be given to the elimination of gender stereotypes. While stereotypes affect both men and women, they can have particularly egregious effects on women, often devaluing them and assigning them to subservient roles in society.
