Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Please note: This is a companion version & not the original book. Sample Book Insights: #1 I was sent to see the squadron gunnery leader, known as Steve, who was the oldest and toughest gunner I had seen so far. He was about forty-five and looked as hard as nails, but had two of the kindest eyes imaginable. #2 I was sitting in the anteroom after lunch writing a letter when the air-raid siren sounded. I looked out of the window and saw people running to the shelters. I was scared, but thought it was great fun. #3 I went to see what damage had been done at the hangars. The roof and wall of the room above where I had been lying had collapsed, and I saw a bed standing by itself and clothes strewn all over the debris. #4 I was excited about being in Leonard’s crew, and I stayed awake thinking about my new fortune the night before I was to fly. I was going to fly operationally, which was what I had been dreaming about since I started flying.

This book was released on 2013-05-31 with total page 154 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The book The Right Wing: the Good, the Bad, and the Crazy discusses the political right in the United States from Prohibition through recent speculation concerning the presidential campaign of 2016. A chapter is devoted to each U.S. President from Franklin Delano Roosevelt to George W. Bush. Many references are contained in the book concerning right wing personalities such as Robert Welch, Joe McCarthy, Barry Goldwater, Rush Limbaugh, Darrel Issa and others. Right wing organizations such as the John Birch Society, Fox News, and the Tea Party are analyzed. The Afterword section contains the authors solution to issues such as gun control, the U.S. Debt, the need for additional federal revenues, and the lack of medium and large U.S. corporations tax support of the U.S. government. Controversial issues such as sex education, immigration, and the present large gap between wealthy and middle class income are discussed in the book. The influence of the religious right in politics is analyzed. The author, Charles Rider, analyzes some of the above issues from an attorneys perspective. The book contains facts not generally known by readers such as Senator McCarthy, the communist witch hunter, subpoenaed many witnesses and forced them to testify in front of the Senate Permanent Sub Committee on Investigations. None of the witnesses ever went to jail or prison for communist activity. McCarthys committee records of witnesses testimony and background disappeared from the FBI files and the National Archives. During the Afghan War, Secretary of Defense, Donald Rumsfeld created a monetary reward program for information as to names of terrorists. Leaflets were distributed that the U.S. Government would pay up to $15,000 for names of terrorists. People turned in their enemies and sometimes goat herders and store clerks ended up in Guantanamo.

Book Project Z Air War Japan 1946

Download or read book Project Z Air War Japan 1946 written by Mark Lewis and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2010-07-08 with total page 320 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Following the disastrous defeat of the Japanese naval forces at the Battle of Midway the head of the Nakajima Aircraft Company drew up a new battle plan. He clearly understood that the enormous industrial capacity of America would soon make the war unwinnable for Japan if the current war strategy did not change. In August 1943 after consultation with his board and design staff Nakajima approached the Japanese military bureaucracy with a series of radical changes to alter what he felt was the current defeatist Japanese war strategy. With these changes in place Nakajima was confident Japan could regain the superiority in the war. Project Z was born from one of these proposals. Project Z was the codename for the long range heavy bomber project designed to strike back at the American mainland and cripple the American economy. This book describes how the Japanese aircraft industry as a whole attempted to stave off defeat by adopting new technologies and the latest aeronautical developments. In a blending of fact and fiction the air combat scenarios over Japan and the Pacific theatre are described.

Book excerpt: This massive work provides a comprehensive insight to the experiences of Bomber Command s pilots and aircrew throughout World War Two. From the early wartime years when the RAF s first attempts to avenge Germany s onslaught were bedeviled by poor navigation and inaccurate bombing, to the final winning onslaught that finally tamed Hitler in his Berlin lair, these volumes trace the true experiences of the men who flew the bombers. Hundreds of first-hand accounts are punctuated by the author s background information that put each narrative into wartime perspective. Every aspect of Bomber Commands operational duties are covered; day and night bombing, precision low-level strikes, mass raids and operations throughout all wartime theaters. Contributions are from RAF personnel who flew the command s different aircraft from the early Blenheims and Stirlings to the later Lancasters and Mosquitoes. Each volume is full of accounts that tell of the camaraderie amongst the crews, moments of sheer terror and the stoic humor that provided the critical bond. The five volumes of this work provide the most vivid and comprehensive work on the outstanding part played by RAF Bomber Command in their vital role in the destruction of the Third Reich."
