The 285-page report also looks at how tutorials are marketed and accessed, and at popular access points such as Facebook, the library website and others, as well as how tutorials are used in for-credit classes and more ad-hoc use. The study looks at how tutorial designers are trained, and at how they inter-relate to non-library departments and other departments of the library. The study also looks at the use of tutorials of other colleges and vendor-produced tutorials, and at efforts to evaluate how students use tutorials, and how colleges should make decisions on what kinds of tutorials to produce and how to best produce them. The questionnaire for the report was largely developed by librarians at the University of Arizona libraries.

The target audience of the tutorial is students of UAF English 111x classes and it is freely available on the Web and open to anyone with an interest in information literacy. The tutorial prototype is hosted on a UAF Rasmuson Library web server. It uses WordPress as its backend content management software. The tutorial also uses Guide on the Side active learning software. The tutorial consists of four learning modules. Most modules include a video, video transcript and a short quiz. One module includes a self-paced tutorial using Guide on the Side. Initial feedback from faculty and students has been positive.
