Book Design and Simulation of an 8 PSK Super Regenerative Receiver with New Phase Detection Technique

Download or read book Design and Simulation of an 8 PSK Super Regenerative Receiver with New Phase Detection Technique written by Rana Mirzalou and published by . This book was released on 2017 with total page 70 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Abstract: Super Regenerative Receivers exploit more complex modulation techniques in order to achieve better bit per symbol rate. This study presents a novel 8-Phase Shift Keying (PSK) Super Regenerative Receiver operating in the 402--405 MHz, Medical Implant Communication Service (MICS) band. In the proposed architecture, the complexity of the circuit input is reduced by using an enable signal, which produces a quenching current source in the Low Noise Amplifier (LNA) and Super Regenerative Oscillator (SRO) circuit. Furthermore, the receiver uses a new RC-CR network to generate eight equally shifted signals and one Flip-Flop in each path to minimize the amplitude mismatch and the number of components, respectively. This receiver has been designed and simulated in 130 nm Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor (CMOS) process. The power consumption of the entire receiver is 119 μW for the input signal of -80 dBm, at the rate of 6 Mbps, and the Energy Per Bit of 19.8 pj/b.

Book The New Radio Receiver Building Handbook

Download or read book The New Radio Receiver Building Handbook written by Lyle Russell Williams and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2006-09-01 with total page 154 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A shortwave radio, without use of satellites, will receive commercial free foreign government supported English language radio programs from thousands of miles away! Shortwave radios can be built at home in a time period of a few hours to a few weeks. This book contains over one hundred illustrations. Written for both the expert and the novice, it provides information for understanding how the radios work, for obtaining the necessary parts, and for constructing the radios. Shortwave radios were first developed in the 1930s and new designs can be built to resemble radios of that era.

Book Ultra Low Power Super Regenerative Receivers for Wireless Communication

Download or read book Ultra Low Power Super Regenerative Receivers for Wireless Communication written by ximing Fu and published by . This book was released on 2020 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In this Thesis, both low frequency and high frequency ultra-low-power super-regenerative receiver with detailed circuits and system design for wireless communication networks has been proposed in this thesis. The SRR design has been applied super-regeneration theory which simplifies the receiver circuits implementation without increasing the power consumption and improves sensitivity. LC-SRO based energy detector, phase-locked loop, frequency locked loop, (PLL, FLL etc), Automatic -Gm controller, high speed, high conversion gain envelope detector (ED) and advanced quenching techniques (OQW, CQW) are presented in this thesis. This thesis also focuses on how to improve SRR's sensitivity (including SNR, BER) under high data rate with minimum power consumption. A series of advanced quenching techniques (OQW, CQW) are presented and studied for LC-VCO based SRO. High speed and high conversion gain envelope detector with automatic -gm controller will help the proposed SRR achieves great immunity to PVT variations and improve the data rate. Finally, FLL based frequency calibration techniques allows the SRR improves its sensitivity and selectivity against PVT variations.

Book An 8 PSK Super Regenerative Receiver

Download or read book An 8 PSK Super Regenerative Receiver written by Sanjay Subbarao and published by . This book was released on 2015 with total page 72 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Abstract: The Super- Regenerative Reception concept was developed in the early 1900s. The evolution of Heterodyne Reception has forced it into oblivion. However, recent research and development has emphasized its use in short distance and low power wireless applications. The results indicate extremely low power and high gain with small circuit area. The study herein focuses on a receiver using a Super Regenerative Oscillator to decrypt 8-PSK Signals. Demodulation without the use of a Local Oscillator, a Phase Locked Loop or an Analog to Digital Converter is proposed. The architecture of encoding is presented which is in turn used to generate the necessary input at the receiver. The receiver involves a combined Low Noise Amplifier Super- Regenerative Oscillator architecture in a single stack configuration for the feature of current reuse. Simulation results are presented which confirm the theory. Finally, a comparative study is presented for various modulation techniques including Quadrature Phase Shift Keying and 8-Phase Shift Keying.

Book Design and Simulation of 16 PSK Super Regenerative Receiver

Download or read book Design and Simulation of 16 PSK Super Regenerative Receiver written by Ashokreddy Kotamreddy and published by . This book was released on 2017 with total page 68 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Abstract: Radio Frequency (RF) communication has developed tremendously over the past two decades. Short-range wireless applications, such as sensor networks, robotics, and home automation, require small area and low power consumption. The receiver must be designed in such a way that it optimizes the area with simple circuitry and minimizes its turn on time to achieve these requirements. This project focuses on designing the 16-PSK (Phase Shift Keying) super regenerative receiver to achieve digital transmission at a higher data rate with low power consumption. The receiver is designed with a Low Noise Amplifier (LNA), Super Regenerative Oscillator (SRO), buffers, RC networks, latches, and flip-flops. The receiver is designed at the 400 MHz frequency with 130nm Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor (CMOS) process technology. This receiver can correctly detect the -80 dBm, 4-Mbps signal with a power consumption of 164 [mu]W and Energy Per Bit (EPB) of 0.041nj/b.
