The boats simply fold up from ¼” thick cardboard obtaining their strength from the geometry of the component parts. The boats are 8-feet long, weigh about 25-pounds, and can accommodate a 250-pound person without risking structural damage. Each boat is constructed with 21-pieces of cardboard that are used to make 7-component parts. The 7 parts are assembled together with 'environmentally-friendly' contact cement and paper drywall tape. Once assembled the boats are sealed with an 'environmentally-friendly' water-based waterproof coating. No special tools are required and they are very simple to build. All of the materials used to build a boat are typically found at 'do-it-yourself' home improvement stores. The boats can be outfitted with 12-volt electric fishing motors, although they are typically propelled with traditional Kayak style paddles.

Book The Boys in the Boat Movie Tie In

The #1 New York Times bestselling true story about the American rowing triumph of the 1936 Olympics in Berlin—from the author of Facing the Mountain For readers of Unbroken, out of the depths of the Depression comes an irresistible story about beating the odds and finding hope in the most desperate of times—the improbable, intimate account of how nine working-class boys from the American West showed the world at the 1936 Olympics in Berlin what true grit really meant. It was an unlikely quest from the start. With a team composed of the sons of loggers, shipyard workers, and farmers, the University of Washington’s eight-oar crew team was never expected to defeat the elite teams of the East Coast and Great Britain, yet they did, going on to shock the world by defeating the German team rowing for Adolf Hitler. The emotional heart of the tale lies with Joe Rantz, a teenager without family or prospects, who rows not only to regain his shattered self-regard but also to find a real place for himself in the world. Drawing on the boys’ own journals and vivid memories of a once-in-a-lifetime shared dream, Brown has created an unforgettable portrait of an era, a celebration of a remarkable achievement, and a chronicle of one extraordinary young man’s personal quest.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Whenever your boat of life is in the midst of the sea know that the wind can get contrary before you arrive at your destination. Whatever your boat is, leaving must be done under the command of the Lord. God’s command is authenticated by the authority of his word. The word must remain your sustaining reality that serves as the boarding pass to your destination. Every journey that begins in God must be sustained by a faithful focus on God. We cannot initiate a step, and then solicit God to concur with our plans and direction. If you sense you are sinking, don’t neglect to cry, ‘Lord save me.’ Your cry is the spiritual alarm system that alerts the outstretched hand of the Lord. Your boat is all the realities that you permit to suffocate your God given liberty, while diminishing faith and bridling creative possibilities. The boat will keep you spiritually infantile, seduce by procrastination and religious excuses. Your boat is a religious ceiling that takes every believer into spiritual default. Your position in Christ requires that you step beyond every limit because position determines posture, potential and power in the Kingdom.

Book Replacing Your Boat s Engine

Download or read book Replacing Your Boat s Engine written by Mike Westin and published by A&C Black. This book was released on 2012-11-02 with total page 145 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The first in a series of highly practical, hands on, step-by-step photographic manuals, Replacing Your Boat's Engine fills a gap in the market for the DIY boat builder and repairer. It is a subject covered only in piecemeal fashion by the yachting press, which, like general boat repair manuals, can't go into the level of detail Mike Westin does. This is a visual, hand-holding guide, dwelling on the practical details of replacing a boat's engine and related systems as it explains each procedure rather than focussing on the theory (which is relegated to an appendix, for those who wish to go further). Anyone who wishes to upgrade their boat's engine or replace an ailing or broken engine will find this step-by-step illustrated book a hand-holding godsend.
