In March of the following year 80 more were released, and from these 160 birds have come the many thousands that have spread to Nova Scotia, to the Mississippi River, to central Ontario, and to the Gulf of Mexico. The spread has not been steady and even, but quite irregular, so that even now there are extensive areas along the border' of its range where the starling is unknown.
