Download or read book Smiles Poems Thoughts to Ponder written by Stephen Paul Tolmie and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2012-02 with total page 200 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Tree of Life The tree of life is so like man, ever stretching to the skies It s branches ever reaching upwards, as though to heaven above Like man s quest here on earth, to reach for that high unknown The tree requires the staples of life, for its very existence here But man in his slight wisdom, knows these details all too clear The tree roots, securely planted, are not allowed to roam But man s feet here on earth. Have mobility all their own Unlike the tree, man does possess a single separate entity A brain you see, though seldom used, a total shame indeed The tree of life depends on man, for its daily life s survival Man depends on his own life s skills to hopefully see his tomorrow Which is a sad virtue, for his thinking process is not always clear He makes good and bad decisions, its effects are not yet known Man should take his life s lessons, from the tree of life pursuit As our single life s true purpose, to reach for heaven above As the tree stretches forth its limbs, ever skyward, in its growth We should heed this very lesson, and praise the Lord above For all that He has done for mankind and this our earth as well

Gibson and Joe St. Jean goes through a roller coaster of emotions, including mini stories. In the lives of these two poets, there are many exciting and fun-loving moments, but there are also times of anguish and disaster. When you read this book, think to yourself of all the times where you had to fight through life and make things happen on your own. Try to remember your first kiss, your first real relationship and all of its ups and downs. Think back to your childhood and about all those little things you were taught. These moments in time lead you to see in between the lines of each poem. When you dig deep into a poem, it may have its own meaning to you, but every line was a moment in time that the authors lived through. As you go through each poem, you will see how the lives of these two poets could be your own, and quite possibly could be about the things you are going through right this very minute. The titles of the poems are close in context to the meaning, so if youre feeling lost, you may want to read Lost by Joe St. Jean or if youre feeling alone, you may want to turn to Suicide Wave by B.P. Gibson. Enjoy these positive and negative experiences as you relate them to your very own life in Smiles and Cries by B.P. Gibson and Joe St. Jean.

Today is just another day of trying to navigate your way through the toilsome maze of your workaday world. Or is it? However, on the way to these amazingly funky worlds, you may want to take a detour onto leaf-strewn paths that will lead you to meditative strolls beside rippling streams then on to the high country grandeur of a sparkling alpine lake. Proceed from there to explore a silent and shadowy wood where a snapping twig at the twilight hour will give you goose bumps. Just don’t get too close to the precipice of no return and beware the inquisitive jaws of hungry night prowlers. Your overactive imagination getting to you? Playful references aside, it’s the vagaries of everyday life that can prove even more of a challenge, but nothing’s perfect, right? Thank goodness for life’s little twists and turns. How dreadfully boring it would be without them! Read on and step into a richly woven tapestry of the magical and mundane . . . the fabric of our worldly lives; set to the sometimes familiar, often times fantastic gyroscope of poetry.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: About the Book This is the second book for author Susanne Ross. Self-described as “writing like a 9-year-old,” Ross sees poetry in EVERYTHING. Inspiration comes to her in the mundane, everyday things: people; places; events; observations; musings; nature; the weather; feelings and experiences (particularly from her dysfunctional childhood). She has a strong enthusiasm and passion for life. Within her books, she attempts to paint a vivid picture with words, as she writes spontaneously, thoughtfully, from the heart, with feeling. About the Author Susanne Ross grew up in a Navy family and has lived all over the United States, and overseas as well. Her own childhood was very rocky in that her parents divorced, remarried, and then divorced once again. She grew up in a very chaotic home, to say the least. Susanne had a long and successful work history, and now she is happily retired. She lives with her long-time fiancé, along with a special cat, in San Diego, California, her hometown. She has two adult children as well, ages 27 and 38. She is a retired civil servant, having worked for cities, counties, state, and federal governments, as well as for an elementary- and middle-school district, a community college district, in addition to having worked for a private practice (retired) dentist as one of his chairside assistants—as an RDA. Being now retired, Susanne has plenty of time to write, which she finds thoroughly enjoyable.
