Book excerpt: Shackles Across Time traces the history of a curse, of a spiritual fatwa, in a sense, on an African slave traders family in West Africa, and the subsequent effect of that curse on the family, over the course of three centuries. Modern technology helps the descendants to realize that something is not cool with their spiritual DNA, but they must use olfashioned means to cope with the problem. They engage the services of a well-known writer (a case of serendipity, he has written about their family in his book about the Trans Atlantic Slave Trade). The mediator is called an okyeame. The okyeame meets with the descendants of the man who pronounced the curse and unfortunately, must undergo the spiritual cleansing necessary for him to be taken seriously. His life is changed by his ordeal. It is also instrumental in having the curse lifted from the African slave traders descendants.

Book excerpt: BEFORE SHACKLES & CHAINS is an eye-opening depiction of the lost history of the descendants of the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade. It delves into the lost nation's story prior to becoming prisoners of war and having slavery befall them. These people, said to be cursed, have gone through thousands of years of captivity, poverty, and oppression. This book explains why the Trans-Atlantic slaves, who have been slaves to almost all nations of the world throughout history, went through such atrocities and continue to endure tragedy today. The horrific events Black people have always experienced is directly tied to who they are, and the direction that they are headed towards. Their situation is as mysterious as their origin. However, tracing back their bloodline is the key to understanding their past, present, and their inevitable future. It is a remarkable one, understandably hidden by those who sought to gain knowledge, power, wealth, resources, land, and world domination. While the educational systems all around the world mutually remain silent on this matter, they continue to hide and re-write the story of America's captives. This book exposes the lies that have been taught and sheds light on all that has been intentionally hidden. In fear, the elite has buried the biggest kept secret of all time, a secret BEFORE SHACKLES & CHAINS reveals, the true identity of the Black slaves.

The shackles were dominating the cares of my life. There was a lustful power that the shackles were utilizing to keep me entangled in its midst. I couldn't see my way out even if I had tried. I was in complete bondage, and every part of me was shackled to destructive behavior. The shackles were powerful because they had cultivated over time, and they were strong, and there were many of them holding me captive. I was so angry with life and the circumstances that had taken place in my life that I couldn't even begin to learn how to control my behavior. My sanctuary that I had built was full of hatred and destruction. I had started to construct a critical inner voice, and it was like an internal coast that negatively undermined any goals that I started to make that were positive. I started to think that I would never become successful. I started to think that people were all out to get me. I started to criticize everyone that was around me. I found myself always searching for the bad in everyone. The voices in my head were telling me to go ahead and try to kill myself again. This time, I felt that I could make it happen; I would die. I didn't think about my children at all. I felt that they would be better off without me. I had been through too much, and this life didn't mean me any good. Then one day, I go over to my grandmother's house for a barbecue dinner, and the Avon lady was over there, selling my grandmother some bath soaps, and she invites me to church.
