The fictional character is named Killian O'Rourke, and has come to America against his father's wishes, in order to find his grandfather. He travels to Knoxville, TN in search of him and finds him and his six uncles. His grandfather, Thomas, had no idea he had a seventh grandson by his seventh son, until Killian arrived. His grandfather guides him along his development and use of these gifts, taking extraordinary efforts to keep the populace from finding out who he was. He knew if they did he would be overran by people wanting healing or to know the future or he could be labeled a devil worshipper and hung. One special gift Killian has is the gift of wisdom. He astounds Thomas and his uncles with solutions to their businesses. He meets a red headed Irish girl name Molly, and falls in love. He has some of the usual trials and tribulations of youth and love. Only one uncle knows about him and the rest of them, along with their children, are angered at the special treatment Thomas gives him. The family fortune and three family businesses are left to his six uncles to manage and Killian wonders what will happen to him when Thomas dies.
