Book Encounters with the Hidden Imam in Early and Pre Modern Twelver Sh Islam

Download or read book Encounters with the Hidden Imam in Early and Pre Modern Twelver Sh Islam written by Omid Ghaemmaghami and published by BRILL. This book was released on 2020-01-29 with total page 288 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The history of Twelver Shīʿī Islam is a history of attempts to deal with the abrupt loss of the Imam. In Encounters with the Hidden Imam in Early and Pre- Modern Twelver Shīʿī Islam, Omid Ghaemmaghami demonstrates that in the early years of what came to be known as the Greater Occultation, Shīʿī authorities maintained that all contact with the Imam had been sundered, forcing him to remain incommunicado until his (re)appearance . This position, however, proved untenable to maintain. Almost a century after the start of the Greater Occultation, prominent scholars began to concede the possibility that some Shīʿa can meet the Hidden Imam. Accounts of encounters with the Imam from the Greater Occultation soon began to appear, adumbrating their exponential growth in later centuries.

This book was released on 2017-10-24 with total page 296 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Now it is about 12 centuries passed from Imam Mahdi's hidden life, and the bothering time of his hidden life will continue up to his reappearance. According to imam Ridha (as), Imam's reappearance will be extended to the day of Doom, no one knows this but God, it is hard to people and it will happen suddenly. Therefore, any investigation to find the exact time of his reappearance is fruitless and our duty is to wait. The meaning of "waiting for" is to desire his reappearance desperately and looking forward to his reappearance; this waiting results from faith and it is rewarded. In addition, it has spiritual values. Waiting for him, like other religious practices, has practical aspects which is pointed out by our infallibles. Following infallibles' orders in this regard is the duty of people who live in the time of his hidden life. The book deals with the personality of the Hidden Imam, his occultation and everything related to him in an analytical and systematic manner and is penetrating in its subject and exceptional in its domain. Shaikh Saduq has presented strong arguments from the life-story of the Prophets regarding their occultation [ghaibah] to prove the occultation of the Twelfth Imam; and Ahadith have been quoted extensively from the Holy Prophet sawa and the Infallible Imams in support of the writer's contentions.

Book The 12th Imam Rise of the Antichrist

Download or read book The 12th Imam Rise of the Antichrist written by James W Parker and published by 12th Imam. This book was released on 2023-09-30 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Today the news is filled with accounts of the rising tide of Islamic governments across the Middle East based on Sharia Law leading into an Islamic caliphate. Iran is now closer than ever to developing a nuclear weapon and Muslim terrorism against the United States is increasing as the events in Benghazi have shown. Against this backdrop, in the not too distant future, Iran has successfully developed several nuclear bombs and decided to use them against Israel and the West. The attack goes better than planned as the nuclear attacks coincide with the biblical event known as the rapture, which devastates America, but leaves the Muslim world virtually untouched due to the small number of Christians within their borders. This disparity now leaves the Islamic countries in a perfect situation to continue their move to take over the world and to unite it under Islam. Iran receives unexpected help from the Mahdi, the long awaited Islamic messiah, whose coming was predicted 1,200 years ago. The 12th Imam is based on actual prophecies found in the Bible, Jewish and Islamic writings that parallel each other, making for an exciting read leaving one to wonder how much is fiction and how much is soon to be reality. In a story ripped from today's headlines, Iran has launched a nuclear attack on Israel and the Great Satan, the United States. The president of Iran has little idea that his grand plan would initiate a series of events that fulfills prophecies in both Islamic and Christian holy writings. The return of the Islamic Messiah, the one the Bible calls the Antichrist, is imminent. The missiles go astray and destroy the Dome of the Rock. While the Israeli attack fails, Iranian agents succeed in destroying the nation's capital as well as several American cities. At the same time, Christians are removed from the earth in a mass exodus. The 12th Imam, the long awaited Islamic Messiah, returns from the Jamkaran well, from a slumber of nearly 1,200 years. These events unite Jewish, Islamic and the remaining Christian adherents as each of their end-times writings converge on a single individual. The Twelfth Imam: Rise of the Antichrist is a fast-paced thriller that will keep the reader on a roller-coaster ride that never slows down. The book is not your normal work of Christian end-times fiction. Its doomsday premise is based not just on real-world events, but actual threat assessments from national security experts and think tanks regarding scenarios that can plunge America back to the dark ages. About 1.8 billion live under Islam, the second largest religion. Islam has been trying to take over the world since Mohamed established it in the 6th century. Shia Islam, Iran being one of the largest Shiite countries, believes in a coming Islamic Messiah, the 12th Imam, who will come and rule the world for 7 years at the end of time. Antichrist? Many Shiites believe they can hurry his return by destroying Israel. Islamic details about the 12th Imam line up with Bible details about the Antichrist. Could the Religion of the Antichrist be with us already? James Parker has taken the well-established Bible doctrine of the rapture and presented it with a fresh look by tying it to Islamic end-time prophesies. Parker has shown there is a clear Islamic connection to Christian end-time prophesies regarding the antichrist. His first novel is a fast-paced political action thriller that will appeal to religious and secular lovers of mystery and mayhem. The action takes place mostly in New York City and the Islamic countries of the Middle East. Parker skillfully weaves together end times theology from the three great Abrahamic religions - Judaism, Christianity, and Islam - and explores a maze of ancient prophecies that, if unchecked, might lead to "the end of days."

Book Twelve Infallible Men

Download or read book Twelve Infallible Men written by Matthew Pierce and published by Harvard University Press. This book was released on 2016-06-13 with total page 267 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A millennium ago, Baghdad was the capital of one of history’s greatest civilizations. A new Islamic era was under way. Yet despite the profound cultural achievements, many Muslims felt their society had gone astray. Shiˀa Muslims challenged the dominant narrative of Islamic success with stories of loss. Faithful Muslims have long debated whether Sunni caliphs or Shiˀa imams were the true heirs of the Prophet Muhammad. More influential has been the way Muslim communities remembered those disputes through stories that influenced how to think and feel about them, Matthew Pierce argues. Twelve Infallible Men focuses on the role of narratives of the imams in the development of a distinct Shiˀa identity. During the tenth century, at a critical juncture in Islamic history, a group of scholars began assembling definitive works containing accounts of the twelve imams’ lives. These collective biographies constructed a sacred history, portraying the imams as strong, beautiful, learned, and pious. Miracles surrounded their birth, and they became miracle workers in turn, but were nevertheless betrayed and martyred by enemies. These biographies inspired and entertained, but more importantly they offered a meaningful narrative of history for Muslims who revered the imams. The accounts invoked shared memories and shaped communal responses and ritual practices of grieving. Mourning the imams’ tragic fates helped nascent Shiˀa communities resist the pressure to forget their story. The biographies of the imams became a focal point of cultural memory, inspiring Shiˀa religious imagination for centuries to come.

Book A Historical Research on the Lives of the 12 Shia Imams

This book was released on 2020-12-10 with total page 351 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: After the demise of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), the Muslims were divided regarding whom they should follow as their political and religious leader. The Sunnis followed the Prophet’s companions whilst the Shias followed the 12 Holy Imams chosen by God. The Shia Imams were from the lineage of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) from his only surviving daughter, Lady Fatimah (SA). Successive Shia Imams lived amongst the Muslims for generations and guided them to the true Islamic teachings of the Prophet. All of the Shia Imams were respected by the Muslims for their spirituality, divine knowledge, and being the progeny of the Prophet. The Imams were a symbol of resistance against the injustice and oppression of the Umayyads and the Abbasids. As a result, the Imams endured many calamities and hardships. They were harassed, imprisoned, and martyred by the Umayyad and the Abbasid caliphs. This book reviews the lives of these 12 Holy Imams and provides an overview of their religious, social, and political achievements.
